Mum has been a resident for just over three months at Haslington Lodge and the staff have been friendly, caring and considerate. It is a comfort to know she is in happy surroundings, and family are always welcomed when visiting.

My mum has been in Haslington for 5 years now following the death of my dad. Although it took her a while to settle, she has always been treated with respect and shown a great understanding of dementia from the staff. Generally her needs are met and all staff are really friendly and they know and understand
how difficult it is for families. Before covid, if I visited around lunchtime, I was always offered a meal which has always been good and there's always tea or coffee available. I don't know what's in mums head but she is happy there. I have total admiration for all the staff that do this tough job.

All staff are wonderful people, what I have seen so far. I am sure in time my friend will settle down. They get plenty of food and drink and lots of activities for residents to do if they so wish to do.

My mum became a resident of Haslington Lodge in January 2021, following the untimely death of my dad. It was a huge decision for me and family members to make. I had never envisaged the time when Mum would need full-time care but the unexpected tends to creep up on us. It was imperative that Mum was
looked after and receiving specialist care immediately. We were immediately struck by the professionalism and fantastic attitude of the manager at Haslington. She reassured us that Mum would be perfect for the home and that they could offer everything that she needed. The initial hesitations were soon overcome. Within a few days, Mum had settled well and accepted that Haslington was her new home. The staff team have been brilliant. They are always available at the end of the phone or by email to answer any questions or to address any concerns. I am so relieved and pleased that we chose Haslington for Mum. Thanks for everything you do - you're all very special people.

Before Covid, I would visit my cousin regularly and always found him to be content and happy. Staff were always friendly. Obviously, due to Covid, I haven't been able to see him but I try to call with books and treats regularly. I leave these with a member of staff at the front door and the staff always
let me know how he is.

Highly recommend Haslington, they looked after my Dad very well but has now sadly passed but couldn’t have asked for better care. The staff are lovely and friendly, would definitely recommend such lovely and friendly staff.

We, as a family, hated the idea of Dad going to a care home. We could not have asked for better. Since day one everyone has helped our Dad to settle in. We feel so lucky as Dad is well and all his care needs are met. The manager and staff show such wonderful, considerate care. We feel Dad is made to
feel part of a bigger family. They celebrate occasions such as Remembrance Day and firework night. They have curry nights. Dad is included in everything. Also in these difficult times, the staff have helped and facilitate contact which means the world to us. We cannot thank the staff enough for all their hard work and the unrelenting help. We can recommend Haslington Lodge for anyone in need of professional and wonderful care. We feel reassured knowing Dad is safe and has the best life possible.

In the 4 1/2 years that Mum was at Haslington, she was always treated with great care and dignity. We only have praise for the wonderful staff. Due to COVID-19, we had not seen mum for 4 weeks when she passed away, but we know she wasn't alone and take comfort from that. At such a difficult time we
received grant support from the staff and we are so very grateful. I have no problem recommending Haslington and its wonderful staff.

My mum was so very happy at Haslington Lodge, the staff were like family to us, nothing was ever too much trouble. Even though dad wasn’t a resident they cared for him too, showing him love and tenderness when he needed it most.
There are lovely gardens to sit in if the weather allows and so many
activities, sing songs and such like. An on-site hairdresser is there to keep the ladies looking gorgeous and she does a cracking job. The kitchen staff make sure the meals are tasty and plentiful.
If you are looking for a care home pop in have a look around you will be welcomed with open arms.

My sister has now been in Haslington Lodge Care Home for six months following discharge from hospital. The transition was sorted out in five days and went very smoothly. She was admitted to the middle floor and transferred after a couple of weeks to the top floor, which proved much more suitable once
she had initially settled in.
After a while, she decided that she had had enough and wanted to go home. This has become difficult because of her advanced dementia, she had been very articulate, intelligent, independent and self-opinionated. Now she is unable to understand and retain information.
I have found Haslington Lodge Care Home staff are very understanding, patient and caring of both my sister and me. The staff and management are coping well with her mental problems and the physical problems they bring. The management particularly reassure me if I get upset accordingly. Most importantly is that I feel strongly that my sister is safe in their care.

Staff/carers are considerate, caring and friendly. Always put residents needs first, but on occasions where we have needed to speak to the manageress, this is where it ends. We have found her to be unapproachable, cold and unprofessional.

The staff are lovely and mum is much happier here than her last place.
Always very clean and fresh. Mum has put on weight and is much more relaxed and not as stressed. The staff are very caring and good with mum and I would recommend to anyone. I visit at all different times unannounced and care is
always of the same standard.

My Mum was a resident of Haslington over the past two and a half years until she passed away and I would like to recommend them.
Not only for the care they provide but also for the support they offer for families going through a difficult time.
Mum was at one time or another on all three floors of
the care home, which cater to different levels of dementia. I think that the staff understand in the main that this is a trying time especially as your relative deteriorates and they are very supportive.

My mother was a resident of Haslington for two and a half years until she passed away in October 2017. Mum was always happy, clean and well nourished throughout her time there and I was always made to feel welcome. Her room and communal areas were always clean and well kept too. When mum was dying the
staff showed compassion and dignity and gave us as a family, the time we needed. The staff never knew when I was likely to visit as I live 150 miles away, but whenever I turned up the staff and residents were always happy and safe and I never found a situation that I was unhappy about. I feel we found a safe, secure and well run home for my mum and would highly recommend Haslington.

Haslington Residential Home is a care home specialising in dementia care. It provides an "open door policy". A visit can be made any time of day showing "nothing to hide". The staff are always polite and cheerful. All residents appear happy and clean. I can understand why the clients have arrived from
other care homes.

My mum went into Haslington Residential Home in November 2015. In the time that she has been there, she has become much less agitated than she was when living at home. The care and carers are wonderful. Each one is so caring and I really feel that they respect and have mom's best interests at heart.
Mom has put on weight too with the lovely food. I have nothing but praise for Haslington Residential Home and feel so grateful that they were able to take my mom.

It was difficult for us to decide where was best for someone we cared deeply about to live, due to their dementia. We could not have made a better choice than giving Haslington responsibility for his welfare. They understand the condition and we found that all the staff treat the residents with kindness
and respect.
He was encouraged to regard it as his home, rather than being in a home. The food was well prepared and presented. His bedroom and facilities were kept very clean. His clothes were regularly laundered. Any medical problems were dealt with efficiently and we were kept informed.
We visited often and always unannounced, sometimes for prolonged periods, so we consider we would have been aware of any noticeable shortcomings in the care they provided.
We have no hesitation in recommending Haslington to anyone faced with a similar situation.
