The home became 'Lindau' when bought in December 1985 by Mr and Mrs Curtis Christie. The name comes from a city in Bavaria in the extreme South of Germany, freely translated in English means "a green and grassy plain filled with peace and tranquillity". Lindau is located within a small seaside town which is a 5 minute walk to the beach, good access to shops, public transport and other amenities.

In 1986, the home grew from a registration of eight residents in six bedrooms to fifteen residents in fourteen bedrooms. Three years later and the home was enlarged again to twenty-four single size of rooms and one double, many of which have en-suite toilets. The home was bought by a father and son in 2006 who still own the home to date. This was extended to twenty six residents in 2008. In 2010 an additional floor was built bringing the number of bedrooms to 37 single rooms 27 of which are en-suite. Bedrooms range in size with newly refurbished rooms being very well presented.

At Lindau, residents can enjoy a wide variety of entertainments and activities. Indoors there are many activities including arts and crafts, musical bingo, chair exercises, greyhound racing, horse racing, playing cards, or board games. The garden has been completely landscaped in 2021 with large patio areas for residents to sit outside and enjoy the garden.

My mother has been through a dreadful time with bereavement, betrayal, theft and found herself homeless and in very poor health. She has been through the NHS system and has been unsettled and scared. However, she and our family are so relieved and grateful to the staff at Lindau for their care, compassion
and practicality and experience in my mother's care.
We hope that she remains at Lindau for the rest of her life if possible as we have found them to be faultless in the comfort she deserves.

Lindau Residential Home is set on a lovely street near the seafront and an interesting small town. Immediately the location is perfect for a residential home. The gardens are beautiful. As soon as you arrive the staff make all visitors feel at home to be with their family members with few limitations.
The residents have lots of stimulation and the atmosphere is very homely and sociable.

Nan has been in Lindau since March 2023 and has settled in well.
She enjoys the activities they put on, has made some nice friends.
The staff are all lovely and go above and beyond for their residents and make family members feel welcome.

My nan moved into Lindau in December 2022 after a long recovery following a fall in July 2022. The manageress was incredibly supportive in helping me place my nan at Lindau. My nan was very happy with the home and really wanted to live there. It was important to us that she was placed somewhere she
felt safe and comfortable. Since living there, she has flourished, gaining some weight and becoming more like herself. The staff encourage her and assist her to take care of herself and her well-being.

The first thing you notice when you walk into Lindau is how spotlessly clean it is, then how friendly and caring the staff are. The home is obviously managed to a very high standard and I'm so pleased my sister was able to be placed here.

Cant rate this place enough! Absolutely amazing! Went above and beyond for my nan who was here for the past fifteen months! Staff are brilliant! So professional and friendly too! They did so many great events and activities to encourage the residents to get involved with!
In her own home, my nan had
multiple falls and we were always worried how she was coping. Once arriving at Lindau Residential Home that worry just disappeared! She never fell again which was such a relief!
Definitely recommend this place!

I have visited several care homes over the years and find Lindau Residential Home to be one of the most pleasant. The staff are friendly and cheerful and have a lovely manner with the residents. The decor is bright and clean and modern with plenty of comfort for the elderly residents. The food is varied

I just wanted to express what a wonderful, caring, kind and compassionate care home Lindau is. I was kept informed (as the main contact) of any changes or concerns. Our family friend received the best palliative and end-of-life care. She was comfortable and peaceful when she passed. They gave her happy
times before she became palliative as she was always smiling. Cannot praise them enough.

During my Aunts stay at Lindau, she was treated with love and exemplary care. All of the staff care greatly about all the residents and are always smiling and happy to see family, nothing is too much trouble for them.
We cannot thank the team enough and we love the fact that we are part of the Lindau
family. In particular the Manager makes us welcome and keeps us informed, she is a credit to the home.
The home is spotlessly clean and run by people who really do care.

My mother-in-law has thrived in the care of the manager and the staff at Lindau. Her mobility has improved immensely, she is healthier, happier and content. She joins in all of the activities and enjoys having her hair and nails done. She has gone from eating nothing to enjoying all the meals that are
prepared and given to her. Fantastic staff, very caring and kind. She is always treated with dignity.
