Throughout the past year, St Martins has kept the family's informed of everyday care and all that has been happening within the Care home.
The staff team have worked tirelessly to keep all resident's safe, healthy and happy.
St Martins has allowed visits when possible due to restrictions and have
made provision with a room and with full PPE in place.
All staff have been very patient, caring and supportive when phoning.
Can not thank all at St Martins enough for the care they provided for my nan.

My mother has been in this care home for a number of years and is extremely well cared for. Whenever I visit her, she is always clean and dressed. The staff at the care home always inform me of her needs when she requires new clothes and money for other extra items.

My father has been looked after for nearly a year. I can not recommend this home highly enough. What absolutely amazing staff they are.
My dad has dementia, and all the staff go out of their way to take care of him. Ensuring he is happy and safe. Doing loads of activities with him. Keeping us informed
of everything. I am so grateful my dad is being cared for at St Martins. Thank you!

My husband has been a resident of this care home since July 2020. From his first day in the home, they have cared for him wonderfully. The staff are all friendly and helpful when we call, and they notify us if he needs to see the doctor or if he requires anything to be brought into the home for his
personal care. Since being in the home, we haven't been able to visit much due to Covid, but we are able to see daily updates with photos of him on the app. Being able to see how happy he is, is really helping. He loves to join in with all of the activities including dancing, singing, bingo, quizzes and much more. Knowing that he is happy and settled is brilliant. We look forward to being able to visit him in the home once the risk of covid is over.

My mother has Alzheimer's and moved into St Martins just over 4 years ago to be closer to her family, having been at a previous care home for two years. We have been very impressed with the quality of care and the conscientious attitude of the staff at St Martins, together with the level of organisation,
compared to her previous placement. Her room has been spotless, and Mum enjoys the meals. There is a very busy rota of activities, again in marked contrast to her previous placement. Staff keep in regular contact with me regarding Mum's management programme. The home is very welcoming to visitors, and staff have really pulled out all the stops during lockdown to keep residents safe, making admirable efforts to maintain as much of the routine of activities and care as possible. All her family are very pleased that she changed care homes, and we all feel very confident that her needs are being met.

My husband has been a resident in St Martins Care Home for nearly 12-months now. He spent two weeks in respite care at St Martins before we chose St Martins.
Staff at the home went out of their way to make him welcome, he was sat in the lounge next to a gentleman who was much like himself to help settle
him in.
The home is clean and tidy, the staff are caring and patient, residents are clean and well cared for. I had several opportunities to visit him during respite once eating lunch with him, which was very nice indeed. I could see that the other residents were constantly given drinks, taken to the toilet, kept clean and dealt with, with care and understanding -this I witnessed on my visits.
Since he has become a resident in St Martins, he has been very well cared for. He is groomed and clean as are his clothes. They have activities daily to help stimulate the residents. I am informed each time he has a fall or anything else relevant to the situation we are in at present.

We are so grateful for the way all the staff have been helping our dad. They have all been so friendly, and the communication has been excellent. Dad has enjoyed his armchair exercises, karaoke and quizzes. It’s wonderful to be able to see pictures and updates on the app too. We can’t wait to visit
as soon as this awful COVID time is over! Mum is really looking forward to joining you all tomorrow!

The care was insufficient although I understand there was a lack of staff due no doubt to the Covid infection. The food was pretty appalling and insufficient choices of food. Some staff were very helpful and kind.

Through one of the most stressful times in memory for care home staff, St Martins have been amazing. At a time when care staff have good reason to be fearful for their own health and safety, they have provided the most dedicated care to my mum and the other residents.
As a relative, I have had access
to Mum’s care log, with additional pictures posted by staff so that I can see her during the long weeks of lockdown. I’ve not heard of any other care home doing that.
Staff have also sat with Mum to help her read the cards that I send to keep in touch.
On VE Day, St Martins put on a wonderful party, with the residents sitting under the bunting in the sunshine outside and relatives waving from across the road.
I am so grateful to all the staff for their care and kindness.

My mother's room is always very clean and tidy. On her birthday I was surprised to see balloons and banners decorating her room. A lovely card signed by everyone. Mum was very happy with all the attention on her 99th Birthday.

Whenever I have visited which times have always been varied, I have found that the staff have always been helpful and kind towards the residents and families. There are always activities going on. I found that during the week there's always something in the home going on and event those residents that
can't take part for whatever reason they always seem to feel involved. Well done all!!

Overall we believe mum's care to be good. She and her room are kept clean she has adequate food through her choice may not always be possible sometime we are not informed when decisions are made but generally, staff are very helpful when we ask questions. We would like to be offered the chance to view
her care plan without having to ask. The activities coordinator is excellent, energetic and enthusiastic her presence has made the whole place more fun and more inclusive.

My mother, who has vascular dementia, has been a resident for just over two and a half years. On each of my visits, I have been extremely impressed by the high level of cleanliness throughout the building, not just in the general dining and lounge areas but also my mother’s room. I visit at random times/days
and have found this to be the case consistently, which is very reassuring.


Over time, I have come into contact with most of the staff and management team and have always been made most welcome. They often share their personal updates with me regarding mum’s condition and talk about her in a very caring and compassionate manner. It is clear to me that they each make a genuine effort to ensure my mother is looked after in the best possible manner as her health gradually deteriorates. I have also noted on many occasions the strong teamwork ethic displayed by both the staff and management which, in my view, helps to ensure that this is very well-run and happy care home.

I was impressed with St Martin's from the first visit. My mother has been there now for seven months, and nothing has happened to alter my opinion! Everybody seems to care and nothing is too much trouble.

This would be my mum's first Christmas at St. Martins and we were invited to a wonderful Christmas party with a lovely singer who entertained us all. The mayor also attended and helped with the raffle and had a great sense of humour. All the staff were dressed up as Mother Christmas, snowman, elves
etc. and made us feel very welcome.


The residents were given a gift each. There were lots of smiling faces and the atmosphere felt like a big family gathering. Then we had a fantastic buffet with a homemade coffee cake to die for!


All the hard work is appreciated and thank you to each and everyone that makes St. Martins' a very special place to be.

My uncle resides here. My husband and I were invited to attend the residents Christmas party. The party was brilliant. A wonderful singer who had everyone singing along. Every resident was personally given a Christmas present from a staff member. Also there was a very good buffet provided for residents
and families. The homemade coffee cake was delicious.
It was a very relaxed and enjoyable evening. Lovely to see staff attending when not working. Lovely to have staff dressed up for this evening event as a snowman, Christmas tree, Mother Christmas etc.

After placing my uncle in the home I am so pleased he has settled. The staff have been brilliant with him and I cannot fault the home in any way. It really has made it an easy decision for me for him to be placed in the home knowing he is well looked after. The staff are brilliant in letting me know
of any issues relating to my uncle.
