Pilgrims View care home, located in the small village of Snodland near West Malling, is a care facility providing residential care for older people living with dementia.

Pilgrims View provides a wealth of support services for people living with dementia, with the aim of not just providing care and comfort, but also a new, positive and more engaging stage in their lives. The team of qualified and attentive staff provide 24-hour person-centred dementia care.

The care home has 40 bedrooms available to Kent and Medway residents. The rooms are light and airy and decorated individually to provide comfort and independence, with colour schemes chosen by residents.

At the heart of Pilgrims View is its philosophy of care, The Eden Alternative, where social interaction and engagement are encouraged and boredom is eradicated by addressing the three plagues of loneliness, helplessness and boredom within the home.

I was more than pleased with my mother's care in this home. She had security, thought and care from lovely staff. Although my mother had dementia I got the impression from her that she was content and that was all I could ask for.

My husband received the best care any home could provide.
He was always clean and well fed.
The home has lovely gardens, the doors to which were always open when staff available.
When he died there the staff never left him alone.
He was 95 when he died of dementia.

My mother resided at Pilgrims View from 30th June 2016 until her death on 10th April 2017. She was very comfortable there, loved the cats and the garden. The staff were very good in encouraging Mum to eat and drink (a very difficult task) and made sure she always looked clean and well dressed. As
time passed, Mum reacted far more positively with the staff than her family, an indication of the good care. The home was good at informing the family if Mum fell or was unwell, and very supportive when Mum was admitted to hospital. In summary, very good care for Mum, and very welcoming and supportive of family.

My Mother is treated very well by the Staff and Management and makes her feel at home and all her needs are taken care of and she feels at home. It's important to me and my family that my Mother feels at home!
