Rockdale House Care Home is located in a residential cul-de-sac just off the high street in Sevenoaks, Kent and in walking distance of Waitrose, the town shops, chemist, theatre and cinema and sits at the heart of the community.

The friendly team at Rockdale House Care Home offer residential care for up to 48 older people for permanent or respite stay. Bedrooms are spacious with plenty of room to bring furniture and most have en-suite facilities. There are kitchen and lounge areas on each of the five floors which are all accessible by lifts. On the ground floor, there is a patio leading to the expansive gardens, while a terrace on the top floor gives stunning views over to the Church and surrounding area. The home also features several lounges and dining rooms, a hair salon and activity areas.

Two activity coordinators plan many activities for residents to choose from. Activities include arts and crafts, using computers, exercise classes and day trips. There is a wide choice of homecooked food available every day, with dietary requirements catered for. Snacks are available all the time and the kitchen staff will prepare a packed lunch for people who are going out.

I came here for respite care at short notice and was made very welcome and comfortable straight away. The staff are helpful, cheerful, competent and confident. There is a cheerful atmosphere regardless of how busy they all are. People are treated with respect and kindness. The food is good and cups
of tea always available.

This is the only care home I've used, and find it very good overall. All staff are extremely helpful and cheerful; the manager is top-notch and if we have problems, tell her, and they are sorted pronto. Generally speaking, we are okay.

It is a very challenging time to have a family member in a care home. I am happy to say that Rockdale House has performed above and beyond our expectations. The manager has personally been in contact almost daily and has been extremely caring. We are 100% satisfied.

I have always been extremely impressed with everything about this home. Its cleanliness, its decor and above all the staff who have always shown great care and compassion. The love and care they showed my aunt in her last days were wonderful and that was also extended to me as her family. It is comforting
to know that she died surrounded by people who genuinely cared about her.

My mother was admitted to Rockdale House from hospital after a series of falls and a determination that she could no longer live independently in her flat. The Rockdale House team have been truly exceptional in their care for her and in how they work with us. They are respectful of my mother's dignity,
kind, helpful, flexible and attentive. The interim care manager is hands-on, personal, intensive involvement has made a huge difference to all of us.

It is some eight or so years since I last visited Rockdale House prior to the opening of the new facility, my mother was a resident at the time. I was delighted to get the same warm feeling by the staff and the ambience in the home. Plus many of the staff being there previously showing continuity would

Job Title: Interim Care Home Manager, Rockdale House Care Home

Hello. My name is Bea Oliver and I work for Rockdale Village as the Manager of Rockdale Cares, our domiciliary care service, and Interim Care Home Manager for Rockdale House. Our new, permanent Registered Care Home Manager starts at the end of March 2025. But in the meantime, here's a bit of background about me...


Bea joined Rockdale in the summer of 2024. Initially she’d looked set for a life in retail, having spent twenty years as an area manager for various stores. But one evening she witnessed the poor, hurried and impersonal domiciliary care her ageing mother-in-law was receiving and was inspired to change the course of her life. The very next morning Bea handed in her notice and set herself a mission: she would provide kind care to the elderly. Her aim? To enable just one person to live independently in their own home for as long as they chose to live there. Within days she was working as a carer in Rapport Housing’s Barnes Lodge Care Home. Her mission grew, and Bea rapidly rose through the ranks to become Rapport’s Area Manager for Domiciliary Care, responsible for the care of residents over four sites across Kent.
Ten years later, a move to Rockdale has made Bea’s mission complete. Not only is she responsible for the home support and front-of-house services for Rockdale’s 200-plus independent-living residents, but she’s also overseeing the launch and management of ‘Rockdale Cares’, our brand new service offering in-flat, bespoke personal care enabling our residents to stay living independently in their treasured homes for longer. Bea’s emphasis, as ever, is on kindness.
