Tralee Rest Home is a residential home registered to provide care for elderly people. The Home is situated in the beautiful seafront town of Whitstable, Kent. It is a stones throw away from the town centre and harbour. Tralee Rest home is made up of two joint detached houses with a purpose built dementia friendly extension, added in 2013. The Home has recently undergone refurbishment and majority of the bedrooms benefit from having their own private en-suite facility. It is conveniently located close to all local amenities and transport links.

The owners want Tralee Rest Home to be thought of as a home away from home. Staff are highly motivated and consistently go the extra mile in assisting the residents to live life to the full potential. They are always encouraging and enabling residents to use the facilities to maintain an independent and a fulfilled life.

As well as quality care, residents have an active lifestyle supported, with many interesting dates organised for their benefit, while the home's philosophy is to maintain dignity and respect at all times. Bedrooms are en-suite and special diets are catered for, while specialised hoists help those with mobility issues.

Since the new manager arrived early 2017, the home has greatly improved. I now enjoy visiting my husband. The new staff team are very nice and informed me of any issues. I always get a cup of tea. I was even invited to have Christmas dinner with my husband which was lovely. The manager has made the
home much nicer, she has had murals painted on several walls which are really nice and the residents love them. I am so happy with Tralee. I can't think of any negatives.

Vicky

Vicky Styles

Job Title: Registered Manager

Joined: 2017

Vicky has been with Tralee for nearly 6 years. She started her career with us as a senior carer then progressed to deputy manager and then took up the role of the manager in April of this year.
Vicky is dedicated to the health and well-being of her residents and staff.
She prides herself on running a friendly, loving home. She has the support of a brilliant team some of which have dedicated over 15 years of their lives to loving and caring for the residents of Tralee.
Vicky has gained her NVQ level four training and has undergone training in Dementia care and End of life care.
She has a busy life outside of Tralee being a single mum to four beautiful children and a dog!
Vicky has a very close relationship with residents, staff and families, all of which are aware of Vicky’s open-door policy where she offers chat and reassurance, she is also always available for a hug!


Sandra

Sandra Luckhurst

Job Title: Head of Care

Sandra started her career at Tralee nearly 20 years ago.


She is a massive asset to Tralee. She goes above and beyond for the residents and families every day.
Nothing is ever too much trouble for Sandra. Sandra states she wants to be part of a home that she would be happy to place her mum in’ we are lucky that Tralee would be that home.


Sandra has gained her Level 3 NVQ in care and is currently undertaking her Level 4.


Outside of work, she loves to spend time with her daughter and granddaughter.
