Treetops Care Home is a family run care home based in the beautiful seaside town of Margate in Kent. The home provides residential care accommodation for up to 23 elderly people and those with dementia.

Conveniently located, Treetops is a stones throw away from local amenities.

The home provides sensitive and skilful care in a warm and homely environment and the primary aim is to enable residents to live as normally as possible in a situation where their individuality, independence and personal dignity are respected.

Residents can enjoy the outdoors in the home's secure and mature gardens, get involved in outdoor activities like gardening and watch the local wildlife.

The highly trained team offers quality care to all residents at the home and care plans are created via electronic care planning system to ensure real-time documentation to meet individual needs. Staff endeavour to give residents a 'home from home' experience and treat them with respect and dignity.

Activities are offered in the home to enable residents to engage in music therapy, exercise classes, creative art, movie days and enjoy an outside entertainer, allowing them to enjoy and sing along. Activities are important to ensure social needs are met along with a person's emotional and physical needs.

Residents have a range of menus and meal choices and have also chosen the décor for the environmental refurbishments at the home.

My mother-in-law was admitted directly from the hospital for an assessment of her needs. The management, staff and owners have been absolutely brilliant everybody is so attentive, and the owners are accommodating and incredibly caring asking what can they do to improve my mother-in-law's stay with them.
Her room is great, and large enough to accommodate her electric chair and a china cabinet containing some of her prized possessions. The manager has an excellent eye for detail and runs a tight but very caring ship, each and every staff member shows care, compassion and understanding to all residents and their particular needs. The quality of the meals is amazing with roasts at least twice a week, supplemented with fresh vegetables, and all dietary needs catered for. This is a real tribute to the owners, management and staff, and a first-rate care home who are giving my mother-in-law a cosy comfortable satisfying and safe environment to live in. Thank you!

Mum says that the staff at Tree Tops were all very good and that she felt very looked after and well-fed! Mum said the food and puddings were delicious and that it was nice to have others to chat to. Mum enjoyed having her hair washed, blow-dried, and her nails painted. If Mum forgot where she was going,
there was always staff on hand to assist. A welcome stay for respite.

Great standard of care provided at Treetops. All staff show a willingness to go the extra mile for their clients and family members. Very clean, comfortable and friendly environment. Carers demonstrate empathy and a social interest in their client's personality, likes and dislikes. Very impressed with
the speed in which medical needs are handled at the home too. Thank you Tree Tops for taking such good care of our dear relative during these difficult times.

After my mum passing away, my dad became very low his Dr admitted him (he is 88), within 3 weeks my dad has improved so much he is engaging with staff and other residents. The care he has been given is brilliant. Dad has chosen to stay on. The manager and staff have made a big difference to my dad at
a very hard time in his life.

My mother was at Treetops for nearly 14 years, in that time I can happily say that she was treated with kindness, thoughtfulness and the staff showed my mother dignity. The staff were always polite and friendly and extremely helpful. My warmest thanks go to the staff at Treetops.

The manager of Tree Tops helped me with all the admin to get mum admitted just before lockdown 2! He reassured mum and me and is doing everything in his power to find mum a permanent place in this lovely home from home. I rang this morning and he was able to put my mind at rest by reading her notes
to me. She was checked every two hours throughout the night and made comfortable with warm drinks when needed. So very grateful.

I have loved every minute I have been here. I would give them 100/10. There is not one person who can be described as anything other than awesome! From the moment I came in to leaving, I feel like part of the family. This is not a residential home, it is a family that you are part of. They are doing
up areas, but none of that is important. What is, the warmth and love shown to us. Nothing is too much trouble. I will badly miss them all. God bless you all!

The staff and management treat my mother with kindness and respect. They are happy to try and meet any request made. Everyone is treated as an individual with their own needs, likes and dislikes. I am very happy with my mother being in this care home.

My father, who suffers from dementia, has been a resident here for just over two years. In all of that time, the carers have only ever shown him kindness and treated him with great dignity.
There are always carers on hand talking to the residents and helping them with whatever they need.
Visitors
are welcome at any time and are always offered a drink. Visiting Treetops, you feel as if you are in a family home rather than a care home. The manager lets me know straight away of any changes to my father's medication or if there are any changes to his condition.
Every member of staff from the manager down seems to have the resident's best interests at heart and all help to make this a very happy place to be.

Both my dad and my aunt have been in Tree Tops. They are both very happy here. I am impressed by the kindness, thoughtfulness and love that residents are given by the carers. It feels like being in a loving home. My dad is treated with great dignity. I cannot recommend Tree Tops highly enough.

I was very nervous of coming to stay. I needn't have been, the staff are very kind and friendly, without being 'over the top'. I have found the food very palatable and satisfying.

Current Review Score: 8.2 (8.208)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.2 (8.208) out of 10 for Treetops Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.2 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 5.000 for Treetops Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.208 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Treetops Care Home is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 24 registered maximum number of service users is 4.8. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 4.8 = 0.208

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
