My parents entered this care home on March 3rd just before Covid-19 shutdown. The care home is family run and the staff are extremely dedicated and very caring, you can tell it isn’t just a job.
The home is very clean and comfortable , unfortunately there was not a double bedroom to accommodate my
parents but they were put into bedrooms side by side with wonderful views of both countryside and the river Medway. The two lounges with the dining room separating them felt really warm and comforting, light and airy, again with views of the garden, patio and fields with Shetland ponies and donkeys.
It is a happy family environment and nothing is too much trouble for the carers.
Sadly my father of 94 years passed away on 25th May from old age, renal failure and dementia. He was lovingly cared for by doctors, nurses and carers right up to the end. This is one of the few care homes in the area so far, that has managed to keep Covid-19 at bay.
They are now caring for my 93-year-old mother.

My mother has been at Chimnies Residential Care Home for nearly two and a half years and now, unfortunately, has to move to a pure nursing home. All the time she was resident there she had the most excellent care and attention from all the staff and the owners. Residents are able to go down to the
lounge and dining area for mealtime or to watch television and chat with others around them as they wish or they can stay in their rooms.
There are 29 rooms which vary in size depending on the area of the building. There are not a lot of activities but a singer comes in once a month and there is weekly bingo and weekly hairdressers.
There is also a large patio and garden for residents use when the weather allows. My mother was very happy whilst she was there but unfortunately due to medical needs she has now to move on. My family would like to thank all the staff for their kindness and efficiency over the last two and a half years.
