Overall Admiralty Care home have been good, the daytime staff are very good and have a good rapport with my relative. My relative feeds back that the food is very good and the staff very kind.
On the down side it seems to me that the night staff are not so attentive as when my relative phoned me to
tell me she was not well, we found that they were slow to respond and did so after I phoned twice to get them to action, eventually I had to take matters into my own hands and call an ambulance.
Also I have concerns regarding my relatives personal hygiene and concerns regarding the fact that she has had scabies for several months and that only recently has PPE been put into place.

The staff are excellent , friendly and welcoming .
My mother in law receives good care however I think it is a shame she doesn't appear to be wheeled into the communal areas anymore and is always in her room .
I understand that this may be as a result of her not understanding and a reluctance to
be moved but we feel it would enhance her day if she could "
Join in" with some of the activities
I never see her in the photos on the social media site. It is always the same residents

I am the daughter of a resident at Admiralty care home. Overall happy with the care provided. Located near our family and provides care for the elderly with dementia.
The home has undertaken a lot of positive changes in the past year.
On the whole the staff are friendly, more care staff needed
as understaffed and overworked. Doesn't seem to be good staff to resident ratio.
Home is kept adequately clean, there is room for improvement.
Activities are well organised, residents seem to enjoy taking part.
Rooms vary, mum's is a good size with views over the lovely garden where in the warmer moths is a good place to sit, more fresh air always good, as would outings.
Food always looks good and tasty with a varied choice, the dining area is roomy and bright.
Communication with the management team is good and queries addressed.
Would recommend the home and grateful for the care provided

I am very grateful for the genuine care shown to both my mum and me by all the staff. Mum has always been treated with dignity and respect and they have always understood her complex dementia needs. The surroundings of the home are lovely and facilities, especially since refurbishment, are smart and
clean.

Generally a good environment but often seems to be a lack of staff particularly noticeable at weekends. Still having issues communicating effectively with relatives although efforts are being made to improve this.

I just wanted to drop you a quick line to thank your staff for all their help with mum today. As requested, she looked lovely for her trip out to the hospital and when she saw her daughter later in the day, she commented on how well she looked. We greatly appreciated this as her youngest daughter has
been quite unwell for some time now and seeing her mum look so healthy gave her a real lift. The care staff helped us manoeuvre mum into the car and we learnt a lot from the techniques that were used, and we are hoping that this will result in us being able to take her out more often. Please pass on my thanks to your wonderful team who always treat mum with care and respect.

My dad had been a resident at Rogers House Care Home for over four years until his death in 2022 (July). He was always treated with dignity and the utmost respect. Not always the most op-operative of residents. He was always clean, fresh, dressed and cared for beautifully. His room was always clean
and tidy smelling fresh and comfortable. Every single member of staff were friendly, supportive, accommodating and professional throughout Dad's time in the home, towards both him and his family. As dad deteriorated and his Alzheimers/Dementia took him away from us Rogers House became his home, safety and family, something we were forever grateful for. Thank you.

The staff in its entirety must be commended for their hard work, compassion, and commitment in these difficult times. I can honestly say that my mother has never been cared for more affectionately or attended to more thoroughly than now. She really is very very content and we as a family are eternally
grateful. We cannot thank the staff enough. Their dedication to the happiness of the residents in their care is beyond admirable.

Mum has been well cared for since moving to Rogers House during lockdown in October 2020. Unfortunately, covid meant that visiting was limited till earlier this year but overall mum seems happy in Rogers House. Staff shower her every day and she is quite happy with the food and also takes part in as
many activities as she is able to. The manager keeps us informed of any changes to procedures as a result of covid including visiting arrangements and any lockdown consequences. Unable to fully review some areas as, due to covid, not seen the home in full.

Thank you for taking the time to review us and for your feedback, hopefully we will see an ease in Covid-19 restrictions in the new year.

Rogers House was recommended by an independent 3rd party, who lived locally, when we were looking for a respite stay for our aunt. She settled well during her respite stay and expressed her liking for Rogers House. Thus we were pleased to secure a permanent residency when it was needed last year. Our
aunt is very happy at Rogers House. She has been looked after well, enjoys the company of the other residents, uses the facilities for socialising and responds positively to thoughtful/sensitive care when occasionally reluctant to do something. Not everything is perfect but if there is a minor breakdown in the services provided by Rogers House (e.g. occasional delay in responding to an e-mail) it is no different to those experienced in our own lives outside of the care system. Indeed the staff always try to respond promptly to our concerns if and when they arise. In overall terms, we are very pleased with Rogers House and the team, especially given the extra work posed by Covid-19.

It's a very homely home and the staff that I have dealt with seem helpful and cheerful. Mums general appearance could be better but I know she gets dressed before the carers have time to get to her in the mornings. Maybe the evening would be better for her to have showers and hair wash. Mum does put
on dirty clothing so I think these need to put in her laundry basket in the evening too. I think the long COVID lockdown has definitely made her more confused and needs a bit more help.

Due to covid we have had limited access to my sister who has only been in the home since August 2020. Therefore unable to comment on food/drink/activities. Communication from the management is poor and weak, in the main, this is driven by the family. The care staff are good but poor management structure
appears to make it difficult for staff to provide the full level of care. Nine times out of ten my sister appears to be dressed in clothes not provided by the family and are food-soiled. I also have concerns around her mental state of mind, it also seems difficult to get her medication/treatment correct. We would welcome further assessment/medication review in order to make my sister more comfortable.

My husband has Alzheimer's. My husband has been many times for respite; this visit was six weeks as lockdown made him so miserable. Their care is efficient, but also warm and friendly. He has come back relaxed, happy and chilled.

My mother was a resident at Rogers House for just over two years. During that time we found the level of care she received to be excellent. The staff were very kind to Mum and I always found them to be very positive. The last three months of her stay were quite challenging after she fells and broke
her pelvis, but Rogers House stepped up the level of care she needed and provided her with a hospital bed and a downstairs room which enabled myself and my brother to visit her and spend valuable time together during her final days.

From the first day that my Mum moved into Rogers House, it was like a huge weight had been lifted off my Brother and I. The staff at Rogers House were all wonderful. They treated Mum with dignity and respect as if she was their own mum. I was so impressed with how they treated all the residents. the
home itself was lovely, well kept and clean and the food was fantastic! My Mum passed away at Rogers House and all the staff was so thoughtful and caring.

Current Review Score: 8.0 (7.986)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.0 (7.986) out of 10 for Admiralty Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.8 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.211 for Admiralty Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (31 Excellents x 5) + (25 Goods x 4) + (14 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 71 Ratings = 4.211

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.775 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Admiralty Care Home is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 10 = 0.4

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
