Fairfield is an independent residential care home for the elderly set in the heart of North Oxford, offering personalised long term care as well as short term respite care and social club. Staff promote independence whilst maintaining an appropriate level of safety and supervision. Most residents remain independently mobile, all residents retain their right to independence, dignity and privacy.

In July 2018 Fairfield moved into a brand new home built in the grounds of the original Victorian Fairfield building, which had been a home to the elderly for 70 years. The new, purpose-built care home has been designed to Fairfield's exacting specifications, and contains 38 en-suite bedrooms, some of which are suitable for couples, and high quality communal facilities including a large lounge, a dining room, a fully equipped activities room, a wellness and beauty room as well as a large landscaped garden. There are large ceiling to floor windows to fill the rooms with light and let the outside in. Food is home cooked in the home's own kitchens from fresh local ingredients.

Residents at the home can enjoy a varied activity programme that includes yoga and static exercise, art and poetry with regular entertainment provided by theatrical groups and visiting musicians, local schools and colleges. There is a library of books to read, newspapers are delivered and there are televisions as well as computers for residents' use. Trips and outings to the theatre, museums and places of interest in and around Oxford are organised in the minibus each week.

Fairfield is also within easy reach of the Summertown shops, a library, churches and leisure facilities allowing residents to retain their independence.

My work allows me into many care homes so I can comment with confidence that Fairfield and its staff deliver a very high standard of care. The home is light, airy and has a warm welcoming homely feel, and all the staff are friendly, enthusiastic and attentive providing complete peace of mind that my
mother is in safe hands.

In preparation for a hip operation, I stayed for several months at the Fairfield residence together with my husband, whose carer I am. We were both extremely pleased by the way we were treated and the solicitous of management and staff. Our visit fell into a lockdown period and we cannot praise everybody
enough to get us safely through that difficult time.

Staff at Fairfield treat residents as individuals. I have observed kindness, respect and inclusivity. Staff are approachable to residents and family, listen well and act on anything brought up. Rooms are bright and fresh. Residents are encouraged to individualise their rooms to make them homely. My
mother has gained confidence and a sense of belonging and enjoys a variety of activities while keeping her independence.
