Rooted in the Christian faith, life at Framland supports residents to live fulfilled lives in their later years. They provide excellent, personalised care which supports residents to flourish in older age.

Framland has an active social life in which residents can take part, or follow their own pursuits. They appreciate that each resident has their own individual interests, hobbies and pastimes, and they endeavour to support residents to maintain this important part of their lives. Residents are encouraged to lead the lifestyle that they choose, doing as much or as little as they want - residents can simply choose to put their feet up with a daily paper or a good book from the County Library which visits every month, or from the home’s own collection.

Their weekly programme includes activities such as quizzes, board games, baking, gentle gardening, music and movement exercises, Wii Fit, and craft groups. The home also benefits from visits by local Christian choirs from time to time. Trips out to coffee shops, garden centres, picnics and drives in the countryside are arranged for residents from time to time. A hairdresser visits once a week. A team of Friends of the Home support and befriend the residents by coming to see them on a weekly basis.

Their Christian background is at the heart of both their values and their actions. At Framland they try to create a community where Christian worship, prayer and support are a core part of daily life. They have daily devotions, Sunday and mid-week services, and a monthly communion service. They encourage local churches to arrange transport for residents who are able to attend.

On 14th February, Framland put on an amazing Valentine's Day lunch and invited the relatives of residents. We were presented with a 3 course meal, all beautifully presented, followed by cheese and biscuits and tea/coffee. It meant so much to my mum to have all her sons and daughter sitting around the
table together. She said it was such a precious time. The kitchen staff and others worked hard to make it happen. I believe it was the new manager's idea. It was the first time we have been invited so it meant a lot. Thank you.

My friend has dementia and he has not found the move into Framland easy and at times he has been quite difficult. The care staff have been wonderful so patient and understanding. They all make me very welcome which obviously helps. There is a very good "family" atmosphere which is very reassuring.

I would just like to say a very big thank you to all the staff at Farmland for taking such good care of my mother during the time she was there. Her physical health improved massively after she moved in, as a result of the care she was receiving; having proper meals, taking her medication, and generally
being looked after. It took a little while for her to settle down but everyone worked hard to make her feel at home, and eventually, she was content to be there. We have observed the staff's kindness to Mum in many ways and have appreciated all the activities that have been organised for 'family members'. Particular thanks to the Maintenance Officer for his special care and attention towards Mum during a period when she was very low following a bereavement, and for encouraging her to continue solving crosswords for as long as possible.

Framland is not a purpose-built Home, but the pictures photos texts plus garden features give it a very comfortable homely feel. The Home is always clean in communal areas and rooms, and I have never noticed any unpleasant odours. The family members are treated with compassion and dignity and I am given
to feel a valued presence as a regular visitor. The needs of each individual are met in a personal way with carers and other designated staff around to give company or attend to needs as they arise. Family members are encouraged to come to communal areas where they can join social activities which are both physically and mentally stimulating as well as fun! As it is a Christian Home I appreciate the opportunity to read the Bible/pray with family members as they wish, join in morning prayers or services, and then as volunteer to take part in outings to local Garden Centres etc.. The Manager is always available and if problems have arisen from visits they are dealt with straight away.

My move here was dictated largely by my wife's passing. A room was available, not ideal but ready. This affects my reviews. My problems are not life threatening but various and I have had to adjust and learn more than other people might have. Communication with the family is a problem but due to pressure
on them and no criticism of the home.

I am extremely happy with the standard of care my Mother is receiving at Framlands. There is a peaceful, contented atmosphere in the home. The staff are very competent and caring, spending time interacting with the residents on a personal level as well as tending to their individual care needs in a

Caring environment coming from management down demonstrating God's love! There is evidence of lots of activities but, because of severe hearing problems and age, Dad is not interested in getting involved in most of them. He really appreciates the Christian environment and the opportunity to talk to

My father stayed at Framland for nearly 3 weeks of respite care. I observed that the staff were patient and kind and always willing to help. They took on board my father's individual care needs and interests and implemented these during his stay. This really gave me confidence that I was leaving my
father in safe hands. The home is peaceful, the residents appear happy and there are thoughtfully planned activities to keep them occupied. Family members can visit at any time. The Christian ethos was an important factor in choosing Framland. My father loves having the bible read to him and was really touched when a young helper sat down with him to do this. It moved him to tears. As did being able to sing hymns and be a part of the devotionals each day. He returned home whistling in the car and was able to communicate that 'maybe I could go back there!'

Residents are kept occupied and cared for in a dignified and caring manner. The activities are varied and interesting, and there's plenty to keep them occupied. This care home is a place of kindness and joy.
Nothing is too much trouble.
There are activities each day that encourages physical and mental health.
My sister, who struggles to communicate, is listened to, affirmed and encouraged.

My mother has been in Framland Care Home for over four years and is very happy there. The staff are caring, considerate and know the residents and their needs well. The home is well-organised, clean and orderly. The lounge is a lovely room with a great atmosphere where my mother loves to spend her time.
The home ensures that there are a variety of activities going on, for example often people taking time to chat, play music, organise quizzes and fun exercises. This is a fairly small home and the Christian ethos is important with visitors from local churches contributing to life in the home. We have always found it welcoming when we have visited and often take my mother out for trips or to our house. We are pleased to be able to say that whilst she enjoys these trips, she is always happy to get back home to Framland.

I can’t speak highly enough of the love and care that my 97 year old Mum receives from all the staff at Framland. In the time that she’s been living there, I’ve observed the endless patience and respect shown to all family members and the constant drive to meet everyone’s personal preferences and choices.
Prior to Mum moving in, she was asked about her interests, favourite foods and even the choice of paint colour for her room. Conversations about personal preferences are on-going to ensure that family members feel that Framland is their home. I am so grateful to the team in Framland that Mum has somewhere to live where I am fully confident that she is safe, cared for as an individual, given all the support that she needs, but equally is encouraged to be herself. Walking into Framland doesn’t feel like walking into a care home, instead it feels as if I’m walking into a large family home where everyone is valued and welcomed.

I feel that a care home is dependent on the actions and behaviour of the manager. This care home now has a manager very faithful to God and all her actions are proof of that relationship. The ethos of love is tangible as one walks about the building. The staff are calm and go that extra bit to make
life as nice as it can be for the residents. Every effort is made to encourage residents to join in things that they would say they enjoyed doing although especially for those with dementia this is changeable. Singing is encouraged since everyone joins in, even if only to listen. Very few people choose to end their days in a care home, but this one provides the very best possible when they can't stay in their own homes.

Miriam became a committed Christian as a teenager and has subsequently served her local church, including working as an administrator for a church in Cardiff.
Since moving into the area, she has supported the work of Framland and attended their special events, including playing the cello for their Christmas services and at the annual garden party. She loves being part of the Framland staff team, helping to provide a caring and compassionate home for the family members.
Outside of work, she enjoys cooking and baking, and spending time with her family.

‘Dave is a proud Yorkshire man who travelled the world but found Jesus in Norwich at a Billy Graham event. Having started his working life as an artist and graphic designer, he was called into Christian ministry at the age of 21. Roles he has taken on have included Christian Youth Work with YFC, Youth Pastor & Evangelist, Drug & Alcohol treatment worker, Youth Advisor and Toilet-roll Maker. Dave describes himself as a genuinely shy man who God put on the frontline of service.

As our Activities & Community Engagement (ACE) Facilitator at Framland, Dave oversees the programme of activities, which includes managing the team of volunteers. He loves working with older people, especially hearing the stories of the amazing lives they have lived.

By his own admission he is someone you will not find on a sports field but rather in the warmth, playing his guitar or reading a book.

A proud father of four and grandfather of 10, he, together with his wife, enjoys the adventure of all that life and world has to reveal.’
