My Mum has lived at Kirlena House since April 2023, and after a short period, settled in very well. A particular member of staff keeps me informed of any worries he has regarding Mum and we are always warmly welcomed by all staff members when we visit. Most importantly, Mum always appears happy and
quite content. I am very secure in the knowledge that Mum is in the best place and is cared for 24/7, which means I don't have to worry so much about her as I did when she was living in her own home.

My husband has lived at Kirlena House since April 2021. He settled in quickly and has continued to do so ever since. All staff are welcoming and keep me informed on my husband's health and well-being. Kirlena has a real 'home from home' feel about it. Thank you, Kirlena, for all your continuing care.

The care given to my dad is exceptional especially as I know on his bad days he can be difficult to care for. I'm always informed about things whether that be events, hospital appointments or medical emergencies. If I need an update I am provided with one and I'm always given the opportunity to feed
into dad's care plan. When visiting we are given a nice space to talk privately accompanied by tea, coffee, milk, sugar and biscuits. On dads birthday they got him a cake and badge and sang to him which I was really impressed with. All staff are always polite, helpful and smiling. Kirlena staff have been great with settling dad in. Thank you all for the amazing work you do!

The staff here are amazing, Mum is very much looked after. There are daily activities for all the residents and they are actively encouraged to join in.
I am kept informed of any outings they take Mum on.
The food looks fantastic and there is always a cup of coffee or tea on offer when I visit.
The home itself is clean and tidy.

Thank you so much for taking good care for my brother. All his medical needs were assessed and are well managed. During this time, the staff and the Management are organising a lot of activities, that helps residents to not feel lonely and supports them at all times. The care home is following all safety
measures to protect the residents. No Covid case from the beginning of the Pandemic!
The staff is absolutely amazing, I keep in great touch with the Manager, a star! Thank you all!

Kirlena House have been exceptional in settling Dad into his new home. They made a very tough time much easier for us all. Dad is now very happy and settled and I no longer have to worry about him. The communication between the team and myself has been excellent. If Dad has needed anything they have
let me know straight away.
He was poorly and needed to be seen in hosptial. Again, the staff informed me straight away, allowing me to stay on the phone whilst the paramedics were assessing him, putting them on the phone so that they could let me know exactly what was happening (I live 80 miles away).
He enjoys the activities at Kirlena; I've been to a singing afternoon which was really enjoyable. I'm looking forward to seeing what they have lined up for Christmas!
We are always welcomed anytime with an offer of drinks and cake and I never feel "in the way".
I would highly recommend Kirlena to anyone considering a care home as an option for their loved one.

The care my relative received was very good, the staff were always friendly when I came to visit and they encouraged my relative to take part in activities which helped my relative with her dexterity and walking.

Our Mother was admitted into Kirlena Care Home in July of this year, she settled in well due to the diligence and compassion of the staff there. Before going there she was not eating or drinking properly, now she is and has gained weight. The staff are always welcoming, they keep us well informed of
her progress, any little set back is dealt with promptly and efficiently. They offer refreshments to visitors even though they are always busy. It’s a small home which I feel is an advantage as the staff care for the residents on a personal level.
Thank you.

The staff are always very friendly and helpful.
They know the resident well and spend time with them, encouraging them to do activities. We are always offered refreshments and often stay for a meal, which can be taken where we are (bedroom, garden, not necessarily the dining room). I'm not sure whether
all the activities on the board take place as my mum isn't particularly interested in them.

My father has been made to feel very welcome in Kirlena House care home and has settled in very quickly. Since his arrival here a few months ago, his health has improved primarily due to the care and attention the staff afford to him. Nothing is too much trouble for them to ensure that he is happy and
they are even managing to get him to take some regular daily exercise - which is no mean feat!!

The care, consideration and ability to get my dad motivated is excellent. The main carers are especially good at getting my dad walking to introduce him to wash/shave properly with help. Visitors are really looked after - we are offered variety of drinks/cakes all beautifully presented.
I'm so lucky
that my dad has a place in a friendly, caring small home and I've seen the staff interact with the other residents - simply fantastic.

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.794)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.794) out of 10 for Kirlena House Care Home (Auditcare) is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.8 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.955 for Kirlena House Care Home (Auditcare) is calculated as follows: ( (21 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 22 Ratings = 4.955

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.839 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Kirlena House Care Home (Auditcare) is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 14 registered maximum number of service users is 2.8. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 2.8 = 0.714

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
