Located in a residential area of Banbury, Larkrise is a 60-bed capacity care home dedicated to person-centred methods. The home offers quality residential, nursing and respite care along with specialist care for older people diagnosed with dementia.

    During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
    and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
    services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
    will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
    services at the time you request them.
    They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
    however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
    services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
    be paid for by yourself.

When my partner and I visited Larkrise for the first time, we both instantly knew this was the place for Dad. He has some challenging behaviours, but these are managed admirably.
Dad came from the hospital, but was made to feel welcome straight away and was helped to settle in.
Residents can bring
their own things from home, although Dad's electronic drum kit did raise a few eyebrows.
All the staff are a happy team and all play an equal role in the residents' lives. I love the way the maintenance staff will often get residents to help them with odd jobs, so they feel valued and useful. Communication is excellent. We are consulted on things and they complete periodic reviews with Dad to ensure he is still happy. The home itself is a lovely place. We especially like the bar room at the end of the ground floor corridor and the big garden and there are various furry/feathery friends for the residents to enjoy. The food is tasty and plentiful, medication is managed well and security is good.

Larkrise is a very caring, friendly and professionally run care home. It is always kept very clean and hygienic. I have spoken to most staff who all have a positive attitude towards caring for all residents.
My mother is very content and happy. She really likes her room and often comments on how good
the food is. I have no hesitation in recommending Larkrise, in fact, I have already done so.

Mum has been declining in health for a while now but the staff are always sensitive to her needs. She doesn't like asking for help so it's important for them to keep checking on her, which they do. Everyone is so supportive to me as well, which I really appreciate.

I travelled from Yorkshire to see my Aunt at the last stages of her life. I found I was greeted by the staff and treated very well and comforted me in my grief. The staff at Larkrise were excellent in their great care they gave my Aunt treating her with dignity and compassion. I can't thank everyone
enough.

My experience of Larkrise Care Home is one of the highest recommendations, the staff and level of care is very good. The home is very clean and welcoming to both residents and their family. The residents have their own room and en-suite which is very clean and made to feel like home where family can
sit and talk in private. The restaurant is set out lovely, the tables have tablecloths and fresh flowers. They have a hairdressers and shop, and now a lovely coffee area. It's a pleasure to walk in and visit.

Friendly and caring staff. Very comfortable accommodation for respite care on first floor easily accessible by lift. Visitors made very welcome. My wife enjoyed her fortnight's respite but seemed to spend most of her time sitting in an armchair watching television. There were various stimulating activities
on offer downstairs and I should, perhaps, have advised the staff to do more to encourage her to take part.
However, there is no doubt that my wife was well looked after and visitors commented on how relaxed and comfortable she was. That was also my impression when I spoke to her on facetime from Australia.

Mum came into Larkrise in December 2017 and in the time she has been here she has been very well looked after.
She has Alzheimer's which has deteriorated in the last 12 months but I know she is in safe hands.
Excellent service.
Would definitely recommend Larkrise.

We have found Larkrise to be very satisfactory for our friend. The staff seem to be very caring and the food good and plentiful. The room and bathroom are spacious and clean. We are usually greeted with tea or coffee when we visit our friend.

Overall, not too bad. Sometimes not enough staff (but sometimes through no fault of the home). Some good staff and sometimes they are not really helpful enough. Not happy with night staff. Mum does complain they are rough with her (but not sure if that is right or not).

When visiting Mum, no matter what time of day, staff always give a friendly greeting. Her room is clean and tidy and Mum is always smart. She enjoys the entertainments and staff are very good. The meals are very good and she has drinks on hand at all times. It is good that there is a hair salon on site.

Larkrise is modern, well appointed and secure.
Staff are outstanding and caring.
Could not have envisaged any other care centre would have come close to the standards observed.
The only downside is that the carpets in rooms are more soiled than is acceptable (minor quibble).

I cannot praise too highly the care and consideration of all the staff towards my wife as well as to myself, family and friends who come to visit my wife.
The facilities available such as the hairdressing salon are first class and I certainly appreciate the peace of mind I have knowing that she is
at Larkrise.

Hannah

Hannah Larner

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2024

Hannah joined OSJCT as Home Manager for Larkrise in November 2024. She qualified as a Learning Disability Nurse in 2015 after completing her BSc in Learning Disability Nursing. Before this, Hannah began her career as a support worker specialising in learning disabilities.


Following graduation, she worked in Neurorehabilitation at Oxford Centre of Enablement in Oxford and later gained experience in various healthcare settings, including Accident and Emergency.


Hannah is passionate about Equality and Diversity, always ensuring that everyone feels included and valued in her care.


Outside of work, Hannah enjoys spending time with her family, including her two children and their cat. She is a military wife and loves challenging herself with activities such as completing 5k muddy obstacle courses


Jade

Jade Wise

Job Title: Activities Co-ordinator

Jade has been a career in the trust for three years and an Activities Co-ordinator for two years. Starting off working in a cake shop, she then took the step into working in the care sector in the community before joining OSJCT. She loves anything creative and doing baking and says, “Making people smile is the highlight of my day”.


Kevin

Kevin O'Reilly

Job Title: Maintenance Lead

Joined: 2020

Kevin has worked for the trust for 2.5 years. Prior to working for the trust, Kevin was self-employed in the building trade. Our residents and staff love him and he has built great relationships with them. Kevin likes not knowing what each day will bring, but can turn his hand to most maintenance tasks.


He has recently developed a passion for fitness, and has started going to the gym! Kevin used to train greyhounds and regularly attends meets and races.


Kefas (Josh)

Kefas (Josh) Jeshua

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Joined: 2024

Josh joined OSJCT as Deputy Manager in 2024. Originally from Zimbabwe, he began his career in quality control before transitioning into care. Drawing on his experience with people, customer complaints, and service improvement, Josh has applied these skills to his work in the care sector.


After arriving in the UK in 2004, Josh worked as a temp care worker in the NHS before becoming permanent. He pursued further education, completing a National Certificate in Health and Social Care (Level 3) with the Open University, which opened his eyes to the impact of therapeutic relationships in care. Motivated to make a difference, he earned a foundation degree in Social Care at Oxford Brookes University and later completed a nursing degree at the University of Hertfordshire, graduating in 2015.


Specialising in adult care since 2016, Josh is passionate about leadership and its role in improving care standards. He completed a postgraduate qualification, earning a Master’s in Management in Health and Social Care in 2021. Before joining OSJCT, Josh worked as a Lead Nurse in a private care home, further honing his skills in adult care and team leadership.


Outside of work, Josh is dedicated to voluntary work with the elderly and enjoys cooking, often preparing meals for charity organisations in Oxford. He is married with two children and values family life.


Cecelia

Cecelia Nunn

Job Title: Bursar

Joined: 2024

Cecelia joined OSJCT as Bursar in 2024. She brings a wealth of experience from her background in finance, which she applied in her previous role as Senior House Manager at Abbeyfield. There, Cecelia managed multiple properties across Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, and Buckinghamshire, overseeing operations, staff, and the wellbeing of residents.


Cecelia is looking forward to putting her experience into practice at Larkrise, ensuring the smooth running of the home and supporting both residents and staff.


Outside of work, Cecelia is married and a mother to three children. She enjoys spending time with her family and values the balance between her professional and personal life.
