    These services are: Personal care, accommodation,
    utilities, use of communal areas, meals, drinks and

    Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
    physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
    medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
    During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
    and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
    services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
    will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
    services at the time you request them.
    They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
    however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
    services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
    be paid for by yourself.

My mother has been at Longlands for 2.5 years, having the most wonderful care from dedicated carers. She has just turned 100 and was treated to a memorable party in the dining room.
She only likes to stay in her room but no one passes without speaking or having a conversation with her.
I sleep very
peacefully in South Africa knowing that she is safe and happy.

The staff are very friendly but most importantly. They really do care. I have often turned up at the home to find a member of staff taking time to talk and joke with my mother. Events are regularly organised. This week a party was organised including a duet singing songs for the residents. Family members
made to feel welcome, always an offer of a cup of tea. Delightful.

My mother in law went into Longlands mid-January with dementia. She was very under weight & not herself, however since being at Longlands she has put some weight on, made friends with some of the other residents, enjoys going to coffee morning and days out, she is a lot more enthusiastic about joining
in with activities, and the care staff are always on hand if you have any questions. I couldn't have wished for a better care home for my mother in law, it's a delight to go and visit her here.

Staff have always been supportive, helpful and friendly, and my mother is extremely well cared for. When I visited a large group of residents including my mother were engaged in a music and singing activity with a visiting entertainer who was very in time with their wants and needs. It was lovely to
see them enjoying it.

Choosing a care home is a difficult task with no help available from the local council. This is the third placement for my wife and in hindsight, it could have been first, if only I had known the pitfalls we endured on the way.
The first home was totally unsuitable, but it did provide a 4 week period
for us to do some serious research. After inspecting several homes, we thought that we had found an adequate placement but 18 months later, social services insisted on moving her purely on financial grounds and against the recommendations of her doctor.
The manage's attitude and description of Longlands sold the home to me before I even saw it and I am pleased to say that over the past few months, it has exceeded my expectations. Without exception, the staff are all genuinely caring, compassionate, loving, I am struggling to find a word worthy of describing the situation.
The office and catering staff discreetly keep up to date, joining the residents on several of the numerous and wide-ranging activities well organised by an enthusiastic activities co-ordinator.
Visitors are always greeted with a smile and made very welcome, with several quiet rooms available for private talking or the opportunity offered to join in the general scenario of whatever activity is happening at that time.
Longlands itself is located in the centre of a housing estate and constructed with outside gardens and an enclosed courtyard/garden in the centre. At present, homing 2 rabbits, but judging on yesterday's activities there might be more in the near future. Large windows provide a good view of the gardens which in turn provides a light airy atmosphere to the spotlessly clean interior.

My mother lived here 3 years ago. I now have my mother-in-law with you and things have moved on so much better. The home is cleaner and happier. The rooms are cleaner and staff are more helpful and meals much better.
I like that there are always soft drinks and snacks as some people can't always eat
at the right times.

I have two friends who are residents, the first one has been with Longlands for approx 2 years and the second since December. I have visited 2-3 times with the first person and just this week with both and at all times most impressed with the staff and facilities. I enjoyed being in the morning activity
room and the enjoyment the residents were getting out of the particular things they were doing, and also the care of the lady holding the course.

I have found the staff at Longlands, Oxford very warm and genuine, ever cheery! My grandmother says they look after her very well. Based on how variable old people's care homes can be, I would say that as it currently stands, I trust this care home to be safe.

Always a pleasant visit to our friend who is looked after well, she is made comfortable and loved with respect and dignity. When we visit we find the staff very helpful and always polite and helpful. The home is always found in a clean and tidy state and even the toilets are found clean and well serviced.

Visiting my aunt for a birthday lunch in the home, I was extremely impressed with what I saw. The staff seemed wonderfully caring and appeared to love what they were doing We heard a lot of laughter and there was a lot of teasing between staff and my aunt (exactly what my aunt, aged 92 and completely
deaf, loves and needs). With encouragement from the staff, she has even started to play Bingo. The staff would often bring a smile to my aunt's face - wonderful to see.

Kelly-Marie

Kelly-Marie Allen

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2014

Kelly-Marie is the Home Manager at Longlands. She has over 10 years of experience in the care industry. She joined the Trust in 2014, having previously worked as a Care Coordinator in domiciliary care. Kelly-Marie has a QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care, and she is also a moving and handling trainer. Kelly-Marie completed her Level 5 in Leadership and Management in 2022 and is working towards Level 7.


Kelly says, “I love my job, and love how no two days are ever the same. I am very proud of my team at Longlands; the residents are at the heart of everything we do in the home.”


In Kelly-Marie’s spare time, she spends with her three children and family. She also enjoys reading.


Elaine

Elaine Eadle

Job Title: Admin Assistant

Joined: 2017

Elaine started in the care sector 13 years ago as a domiciliary carer and joined Longlands six years ago as a carer. Four years ago she started in the office as an admin assistant.


She loves working for OSJCT as every day is different, there's never a dull moment working in the care sector! She enjoys working in front of the house as she has good relationships with the residents and families and the staff and volunteering team.


When she is not working she spends time with her son who’s a professional dancer, so she does a lot of travelling, watching him perform. She loves going on long walks with her dog.
