I was so happy to be recommended Lyndhurst Care Home, the minute I stepped in I knew it was the right home for my mum, she was struggling with loneliness, loss of appetite, personal hygiene and not remembering to take her tablets. Mum now doesn't have any of those worries, the home had taken care of
all of those, Mum has settled so quickly and is so much happier, all the staff are amazing, they make it feel like home and when I visit I am made to feel so welcome with a lovely cup of tea, delicious cake or biscuit. Mum has joined in with the activities and enjoyed her Zumba class today, I feel a sense of huge relief knowing that Mum is being so well cared for, could not recommend Lyndhurst enough.

Recently there have been many changes happening at Lyndhurst. There have been improvements made in the garden with more planting and tidying, updating of the alarm systems and now the building of a new conservatory. This has all been organised and managed very well by the manager, the staff nurses and
all of the care staff. They have kept us up to date with developments and made sure that all the residents are well cared for during the changes. Everything is done to ensure the comfort, safety and well-being of the residents. Well done and keep up the good work. We appreciate all you do.

Care is excellent. Welcoming happy atmosphere, no matter when we call in to visit. Homely vibes for residents and visitors and nothing is too much trouble. The staff are constantly aware and dealing with any moods etc that may arise for residents. They also stimulate everyone's minds etc with the various
activities keeping the residents happier and healthier. We would and have recommended the home to others.

The staff go way beyond to care for the residents, when visiting they always offer you tea/coffee, they take great pride in their work, the residents take part in the many activities offered by the staff... whenever I arrive to visit my husband they are very understanding, I can’t thank them enough
for the care they have given my husband.

My mother (96) was very well cared for at Lyndhurst by the manager and her team. Mum, with her dementia, could be difficult at times but she was always treated with great care and respect. She was there for the last six months of her life and I'm confident that she was as comfortable as possible. She
was always very complimentary about the food! Her passing was dealt with with the utmost attentiveness and devotion. Thoroughly recommended.

I am so impressed with the way the manager and her team have handled the effects of the pandemic at Lyndhurst. The decision was taken to close Lyndhurst to visitors before the first lockdown was put in place. I feel this was a very wise decision. The manager ad her team have been amazing. They are always
welcoming and helpful. A solution to allowing relatives to visit was quickly found. A room was converted solely for this purpose and it works very well. I am very grateful to all the staff.

We are extremely happy with the way our mother is cared for here. The staff are wonderful, helpful to Mum and also to us. We are so pleased that we got her into Lyndhurst. We couldn't have found anywhere better and have been truly amazed at how things have gone during COVID. So no complaints from Mum
or us.

The care home staff are friendly and show compassion to their service users. Nothing is too much trouble and problems are resolved quickly. The home is very clean and warm. My father said the food was excellent, very tasty and there is a good selection. My father is very happy to be at the home as he
feels safe and secure.

Lyndhurst is a peaceful house with a lovely garden next to Goring on Thames cricket field, which has rooms for up to 20 people.

It has a 'family' atmosphere, the staff are caring and experienced. There are plenty of activities for the residents. Good food too, creating a cheerful atmosphere. Highly

recommended.

My 91-year-old father has been cared for at Lyndhurst Residential Home now for nearly 3 years. He suffers from dementia and struggles with walking. I cannot praise the staff enough for the care, love, respect and patience they have given my father and the family. They always make us feel as part of

Nice friendly staff with a nice day room at the front, very clean. Always offering tea/coffee on arrival. Good attention to residents and nice touch giving a birthday card to my uncle. The only thing I could criticise is that I gave my aunt a birthday present for her birthday which has not been found
to this day!

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.331)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.331) out of 10 for Lyndhurst Residential Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.831 for Lyndhurst Residential Home is calculated as follows: ( (49 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 59 Ratings = 4.831

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lyndhurst Residential Home is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 20 registered maximum number of service users is 4, which has been reached with 5 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
