As my mum moved into Madley Park during COVID lockdown we have been unable to look around the home or meet the staff. We look forward to visiting Mum in her room and meeting the staff involved in her day to day care.
The care shown to Mum so far has been very good but we are a little concerned that
she is bypassed in making decisions for herself. She does not have dementia and therefore can open her own post!

In order to visit my mother, I had to undergo the Lateral Flow test for Covid which was performed very professionally by a member of staff. From the moment that I arrived to the time that I left, I was impressed by all the staff and the home itself. Having had a very nice visit I left feeling reassured
that my mother was being well cared for. I would like to thank all concerned for the care that they are giving to my mother and I look forward to my next visit.

Madley has been fantastic with both parents, but with only Mum left now, since April, she has struggled to find herself, with dementia and having lost her husband. This month we have had a bit of a breakthrough. Mum looks content, relaxed and less confused. She looks at home. That is all down to the
staff. A friendly face and familiar day and their endless patience. Thank you all. Long may the social Mum continue.

I was worried to death when I knew my mother was going to be admitted from hospital into a Care Home but I needn't have worried at all because from the moment she went into Madley Park Care Home, she was treated with love and care. There were some teething problems with her settling in at the beginning
but the staff did everything to help her to feel at home. Even taking into account the situation with COVID, where she had to be in isolation for 2 weeks and has limited visits, I can rest easy knowing that she is being cared for by people who are completely dedicated to their work. She tells me that the food is "smashing", she sleeps like a log because the bed is so comfortable and the staff are like her family. She said, "They can't do enough for me, they are all so lovely to me.....always." I can't thank the staff enough for helping my mother to settle and me to feel more relaxed about this new chapter in our lives. I can't recommend this home highly enough. Thanks to you all.

Mum has been a resident since November 2019. She has a lovely room whenever we visit it has been spotlessly clean, fresh-smelling and tidy. Staff always know who Mum is when we ring to see how she is, possibly in part because she is quite a ‘lively’ character at times! But it is reassuring that staff
do not pass you from person to person they know their residents.
My father, grandchildren and myself are always made welcome on visits (prior COVID). Not so easy at moment but they have facilitated visits as far as they can. Dad had a wonderful visit yesterday to see Mum after several weeks of not being able to see Mum. The staff went above and beyond to support my elderly dad and mum and the visit went so well.
We have seen how the staff support and care for residents with patience, kindness and appropriate sense of humour. We sleep easy knowing Mum is so well cared for. Staff keep us informed of any issues, changes in Mum's health, wellbeing or meds. Thank you to all the team.

The carers do a wonderful job at creating a happy, safe environment for their residents. My mother has been very happy, and well looked after. Caring staff, but need more! Management could be more visible.

Visit during coronavirus pandemic so not the usual routine. I was told where to meet a member of staff who showed me the masks and sanitiser that I should use. The resident was seated two metres away and there was a member of staff there to help. It was difficult to speak clearly with the mask on but
it was so much appreciated. My visit was restricted to fifteen minutes and a staff member came with me to the exit. Difficult situation but managed and handled extremely well by the staff.

My mum has been in Madley Park House for five years now and I am extremely happy with her care. The staff are wonderful and really caring, every member of staff is kind and considerate and treat mum with respect. Her room is very nice and the food is excellent with plenty of cups of tea or coffee whenever
wanted, also lovely cake and biscuits, really home from home. And obviously, up until covid 19 you could visit whenever you wanted and were always made very welcome and although things have changed at the moment, you can still see mum with an appointment and social distancing, they are working really hard to keep everyone safe, and still let us see our loved ones.

This is an exceptional care home. The carers are exemplary - kind, compassionate, professional. They work hard and they also went "the extra mile" for my dad. My dad was very happy living here. He felt safe, cared for and loved. The carers are warm and affectionate to the residents and to each other.
They are a wonderful team. I absolutely recommend this care home to anyone looking for a haven for their relative. I wish I had moved my dad into Madley Park House earlier. It is an excellent home and the carers are love itself. I shall be forever grateful to them.

My Grandmother spent the last 3.5 years of her life at Madley Park. Once diagnosed with dementia she selected the home herself and we ensured she moved in once things were too much at home. She loved her time there and was always happy whenever friends and family visited. The staff visibly cared
and looked after her when we could not be there. I am thankful to all of them and their amazing work that they made these last few years so special.

My mother has been in Madley Park House for some time now and she's very happy there. When visiting I've always found the staff to be very warm and friendly. My mum and I will often take ourselves out to enjoy all the local cafe's and restaurants of which there are many. The wide range of activities
organised by the home are marvellous and are enjoyed by most of the residents. During the last month or so, mum has been through a difficult time and quite often at the moment our family find it quite difficult to contact her. The staff have always managed to spare five minutes of their time to help us either get a message to mum or organise a phone for us to call and speak with her, for this, we are extremely grateful as we realise how busy they are in these difficult times. We would be happy recommend Madley Park to anyone in the future.

I can't fault the level of care and support my mother has received at Madley Park House. The staff are caring and nothing is too much trouble. Activities are well organised and my mother enjoys them. Management and admin are also a pleasure to deal with. Most of all my mother enjoys being here, feeling
safe, well cared for and kept active.

The staff at Madley Park have been amazing. Helping mums transition to full-time residential care during a very difficult and emotional time has been faultless. The care and dignity they have enabled mum to have has been reassuring and they have also been there for me too, to help us both cope. I am
so grateful that these wonderful people actually 'care'.

Mum has been here since July 2019. She has improved very much since being in the home due to the excellent care. She has regular meals, regular medication and other care all of which had become difficult for her at home. She has gained weight while she is there, something we did not manage to do
for her.
The home has everything a resident and visitor needs. The staff are all lovely and you can tell they care about the residents. Having company on tap too lifts Mum's spirits and she has made friends easily.

My Mum has been in the care of the home since July, she has noticeably improved in all aspects of her health and wellbeing since then. The care home is modern and up to date, it has great facilities to accommodate all of its residents. The staff are professional, courteous and very friendly which makes
my Mums stay second to none. Food and hygiene is of the highest standard, some staff have been focused and taken a personal crusade achieving much needed weight gain in a very short space of time for my Mum. They run activities constantly to keep residents busy during the daytime and evenings. Recently my Mum has taken part in the various day trips organised, particularly enjoying a pub lunch which gave her a great sense of independence as for once the family was not involved - brilliant. The administration of her care is communicated efficiently and accurately regarding her stay, hospital appointments and so on. The resident cats a loving touch and great companionship too.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.355)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.355) out of 10 for Madley Park House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.705 for Madley Park House is calculated as follows: ( (75 Excellents x 5) + (29 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 105 Ratings = 4.705

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.65 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Madley Park House is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.75

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
