My mum was welcomed to Madley Park at short notice after an emergency evening referral via social services. On visiting the next day I was immediately impressed with the presentation of the facilities. It is light, modern and airy, rooms are a good size and it's clean. More importantly, I soon had the
impression staff had the welfare of clients at heart and they cared. I also was supported by all staff and was given valuable advice and guidance by senior staff. Although mum didn't spend long at Madley Park, her stay was as good as I could have expected and more.

Mum has been at Madley Park House 5 months, she has settled much better than we expected.
The home is warm and welcoming, the menu for dinner and tea has a good variety of food. They provide a good range of activities for the residents and trips out.

We came to visit a very dear friend today 25/2/2019 not really knowing what to expect.
We were soon reassured by the reception lady who was very helpful and knew exactly where our friend was.
The whole place is extremely clean and tidy and there was ample room for us to have a chat with our friend.
We
were offered a cup of tea by the lovely lady in the canteen area.
Although our friend was a little confused it was pleasing for us to know she is being so well and thoughtfully cared for.
It will be a pleasure to visit again.

My mother has been at Madley House for almost a year, first in respite and then as a resident. She is currently 93, mobile but with some dementia. We live locally and visit regularly at different times of day. We are very pleased that my mother is extremely well cared for. Her room is delightful and
always very clean, and she has a stimulating range of activities to attend each day. My mother speaks highly of the kind staff and good food. Most importantly Madley House seems like a home from home for her. It has a warm and friendly atmosphere, all the staff really care for the residents and the new little kittens are a delight.

I have been extremely happy with the care provided for my mother whilst at Madley. All staff were professional, caring, respectful, kind and took time to give Mum personalised care.
She was very happy there and never had a bad word to say about her care.
Sadly she recently passed away peacefully in
her room and the compassion and support given to me was very much appreciated and helped at an extremely sad time.
Thank you one and all at Madley.

I visit most weeks and find all the staff so friendly. 'What a great place this is'. My friend I visit loves it. We have been friends for 53 years. Every time I visit she always tells me how great the staff are.
The lady in a red overall always has a big smile and is so willing to help, God bless her.
I
wish you all well and thank you.

Nan has been at Madley for the past 3 months, she was previously at home without carers but with some cognitive impairment and short-term memory loss, she was becoming very anxious particularly at night. It was my Nan's choice to find a placement and something which she wanted to do quickly. From the
first visit to Madley, we were shown around the home with care and compassion, they were so helpful and thoughtful to how my nan was feeling and also us as a family.
I can't thank them enough as my nan is now happy, content, laughing, eating well, socialising and above all her anxiousness has gone.
The home is very welcoming. She is looked after with compassion and dignity. All staff are extremely approachable and helpful. All staff show a real interest in my Nan and make her feel at home. You have all made what was a very stressful time for us, a very positive experience and we can all relax now knowing Nan is in safe hands and being cared for so well. Thank you, you all do an amazing job.

My Father resided in Madley Park for 6 years and my Mother for 3 years (2015-2018). My Mother posed behavioural challenges which the staff took in their stride. On my Mother's death, my Father was encouraged to come out of himself, though this march a decline in his mental state. During this decline,
he was treated with compassion and dignity from all the staff. In his last couple of weeks, he was helped to his end with the greatest of loving care, again from all staff. I cannot thank the carers enough for taking pains to give him a dignified and peaceful end.

A jewel of a find. A real home from home.
No longer is my mother frightened, anxious and unable to cope. Instead, she is calm and contented because of the wonderful care she is receiving. All her needs are being met and she is being treated with dignity and respect by all those she comes into contact
with. A lifesaver for all of us. Thank you.

My mother arrived here after a prolonged stay in hospital and after a short - but awful experience - at another home. There is no area of Madley Park, that I wouldn't give 5 stars to. Everyone - and I mean everyone - has been brilliant with mum. They've rung me with the slightest concern. They even
rang me - overjoyed - to tell me that mum had started eating. I can't praise them enough.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.355)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.355) out of 10 for Madley Park House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.705 for Madley Park House is calculated as follows: ( (75 Excellents x 5) + (29 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 105 Ratings = 4.705

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.65 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Madley Park House is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.75

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
