The care, compassion and understanding are incredible. All the staff, in whatever capacity, go above and beyond what is expected to help in whatever way they can. The overall atmosphere of the building is one of calm, controlled activity and a great sense of security. I could not ask for anything more
for my Wife.

To get a good supply of pads, I run out and I can't get any, which is quite distressing.

On visiting our friend we were very impressed with the cleanliness of the areas we were in and the lack of aroma associated with care homes. The staff were very helpful to us.

The only area of comment is regarding the community television which is low down in a corner and should really be better

located above head height on an end wall.

The care and service provided to my aunt was first class. The staff were extremely patient and kind to my aunt who could be difficult at times.
The food and accommodation was first rate.
As visitors, we were made welcome and kept informed of my aunt's condition at all times.

The activities coordinator is a fantastic organiser when it comes to arts and crafts activities. I love getting to know all the residents and seeing how much they enjoy doing creative activities.

The home itself is well equipped with resources and is practical.

I enjoy my time here and will continue

to do so in the near future. :)

Carers try their hardest to provide the best care which is difficult as a lot of patients need more care (some almost nursing) than what is funded.
They are careful and cautious and try to give residents as good as environment as they can.

2 stays October/November 2017
Mum has Alzheimer's high-level needs.

Oct Positives
Staff warm, friendly.
Home clean, homely, and bright.
Mum relaxed and happy when I collected her.
Negatives
No-one came to support mum so I could leave, I wasn't happy to leave her alone as was her 1st visit.
Visited

Sunday, buzzed into main entrance, no staff downstairs. Went unchallenged to 1st floor, no staff went to mum's room. A man was inside, I redirected him, finally found staff who took me to mum. No-one checked who I was on entry or why I was there.
Clothing and dental plate with front teeth lost.

Nov Positives
Better handover, someone there to meet us and to manage the transition so I could leave discretely.
Negatives
Respite ended after 2 nights, I had to cancel plans with dad to celebrate his 80th birthday.
Back home mum clearly had a cold, though no mention made of it. Took her to the bathroom and her underwear was soiled, clearly not recent, she had not been supported to use the bathroom.

Overall, Madley Park House is a good, friendly care home. It has improved enormously under the current senior management. It feels now that the overwhelming majority of staff are enjoying working there and give really good care to the residents. Support from above was highly needed in order to filter
down to residents and this is now apparent.

Mum enjoys coming for 2 weeks when I have my holiday. This is her 3rd visit and she is always very happy when I pick her up. She loves the food - mostly the puddings.

My mother came into the home in January 2017 for 4 weeks respite. She was greeted with dignity and kindness shown where all the facilities were. My mum had a fall just before coming into the home and this is where she felt the safest. When the four weeks came to an end, she felt she would stay a little
longer until the middle of April.
She then decided that her home wasn't the place she wanted to be any longer as she was becoming extremely unstable on her feet. She has had two falls since and we feel we made the right decision for her to stay.

My dad died on the 7th July 2017 after suffering a stroke on 22nd June at Madley Park. He was treated with care, above the average many times over.

He was as happy as he could be, considering he lost his wife in February 2017.

Overall, I was very happy to leave Dad in the capable hands of some

very caring professionals.

My aunt has been a resident at Madley Park for around 5 years. Sadly she passed away at aged 97 in early June 2017.
Throughout her time in the home, I have been constantly impressed by the professionalism, care and facilities provided by the manager and all the staff who looked after and made my aunt's
time there a happy and supportive experience. The atmosphere and friendliness shown was superb and enabled me as her only nearest and dearest family member, to be relaxed that she was being cared for by diligent and enthusiastic staff who truly wished her to have a relaxing and stress-free life during the final year of her life. Her personal carer deserves, in particular, the highest praise.

My aunt came for respite recently and it was wonderful. The lady who came to assess my aunt was lovely. She really made her feel at ease and was so caring.
All the staff were so friendly and caring they couldn't do enough for my aunt.
Highly recommend.

I chose to come here because I live in Witney and have visited many times.
I need very little help and am free to come and go to all the friends, church meetings and events I am used to with no problems.
The staff work hard, not always easy as I know in my experience of caring for my family.
The
staff who have been here sometime are usually very friendly. All still do a good caring job and some are most helpful and interested in you, especially one person.

My mother was in Madley Park House for over two years.
All staff were very friendly and professional at all times, especially during my mother's final months when she needed constant assistance.
The home was well decorated and always clean and fresh.
My mother was always clean and her clothes well
laundered.
Everyone was catered for in the varied activities.
All meals were freshly cooked and there were even home made cakes.
My mother was very happy and settled in quickly.
I would strongly recommend this very caring home.

I wanted to say how much I enjoyed being at the fete on Saturday 6th August- it was just lovely. The music sing-a-long, burgers, birds....brilliant. I have praised both staff and employees- well-done everybody. I would like to personally thank three staff in particular.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.355)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.355) out of 10 for Madley Park House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.705 for Madley Park House is calculated as follows: ( (75 Excellents x 5) + (29 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 105 Ratings = 4.705

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.65 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Madley Park House is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.75

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
