    physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,

    During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
    and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
    services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
    will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
    services at the time you request them.
    They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
    however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
    services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
    be paid for by yourself.

I recommend Meadowcroft highly, the staff are unfailingly kind and caring always going the extra mile. The activities manager is also excellent. My father is incredibly well cared for. Many thanks to the whole team.

I have nothing but praise and gratitude for the staff at Meadowcroft. Their commitment to dignity in care is a reality and not just a tagline. I am happy that my grandmother's needs at 100 can be met with love and professionalism and I would be hard-pressed to find anywhere better! Despite the challenges
of COVIS, Meadowcroft has maintained it's positive spirit, can-do attitude and willingness to make the most of it's team - outstanding.

The Meadowcroft team looked after dad for three years and during that time provided the reassurance we needed that dad was cared for and supported. Collectively everyone, reception, cooks, cleaners, volunteers, nurses, carers and managers provided professional care and a personal touch. Dad was encouraged
to be as independent as possible and given opportunities to join in events and trips when right. In his final days, dad was treated with compassion, consideration, dignity and his wishes were understood and respected. The team reached out to support and help the family too. We could not have asked for more.

The staff are excellent lovely and caring and the home is warm, safe and comfortable. The security is so good that it is often a challenge getting in and out and having to wait for a member of staff to come to the door, but otherwise no complaints and mum is very happy here.

From September 2019, my aunt has resided at Meadowcroft. In that time she has been treated with respect, care and friendliness. She has dementia and as I work with people with dementia, I think I can comment on a professional level that the staff here are wonderful, caring and skilled. I have observed
practices at the home when staff were unaware and I can testify that person-centred care is always used. I am deeply impressed. It took me a year to find this home for my aunt and I would recommend it to anyone. The management are also fabulous and so helpful.

My mother has been at Meadowcroft since May 2019. Three weeks ago she fell and broke her hip and went into hospital so her hip could be repaired. In our opinion, she was sent back to Meadowcroft far too soon but the care she had in the last three weeks of her life was full of love and her every need
was seen to most lovingly. The comfort we had knowing and seeing this helped enormously at a most distressing time. We were kept informed by phone continually and cannot praise the lovely staff, manager and office enough.

Meadow Croft was an ideal care home for my elderly sister with dementia. The modern, bright building has an attractive garden and was kept scrupulously clean. Above all, it was very well staffed with kind and cheerful ladies. The kindness and sympathy shown to my sister at the end of her life was outstanding.

Meadowcroft is perfect for my father. He is close to family and friends. The home is excellent and there always appears to be plenty of staff on duty. Nothing is too much for them. My father's needs are catered for very well.

Their understanding and treatment of Dementia residents were great. I have been so impressed with Meadowcroft. I have applied to become a Befriender so that I can

My father was admitted to the care home mid-February 2018 direct from hospital. He was weak and quite low. With the care of the home staff and family, within the month, he was back to his old self. Being with other residents at the home, the home activities and the nurturing by staff, he has blossomed
for which my family are very grateful. From what I see, my talks with management and staff during this time, I am very happy with the high standards set and achieved.

My father has been in this care home for nearly 2 years. During this time he has consistently been given excellent care. He feels the love and care he receives from the staff here goes a long way towards happiness in being here. My father very much enjoys the food and the effort to ensure he has food
he likes. The rooms are kept very clean and lovely. As a regular visitor, I too, am grateful for the kindness afforded to my father and me.

The staff are lovely and very helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The home is lovely and clean and laundry is always presented, clean and neatly ironed. The manager has been very helpful, and even though always busy, takes time to speak to relatives about their family member in the home, but also
they need to take time out to have lots of laughter along the way.

Rachel

Rachel Greenough

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2018

Rachel joined The Orders of St John Care Trust in 2018 as Home Manager of Meadowcroft in Thame. She has vast experience of nearly 30 years working in the care industry and holds NVQs in Health and Social Care Management and Community Mental Health.


Having managed various types of residential and support services, Rachel has developed skills over the years enabling her to effectively manage and support the busy team at Meadowcroft. She is passionate about providing high quality care and works with residents, their families and the team to ensure care is tailored to the individual and maximises opportunities for independence.


Being fully immersed in the day-to-day running of the home, Rachel’s busy schedule can be different every day. She enjoys the diversity of the role and values moments with residents.


In her spare time Rachel can be found tending to her garden, doing DIY, enjoying football and reading.


Jacky

Jacky Thomas

Job Title: Bursar

Joined: 2018

Jacky’s role as Bursar at Meadowcroft means that she is often at the centre of activity within the home.


Jacky is an expert in managing a busy workload and, among her many responsibilities, she supervises ancillary staff, arranges training, is responsible for ordering for the home in-line with budgets and ensures the smooth-running of day-to-day activities such as gardening, residents’ shopping and mealtimes.


Jacky joined The Orders of St John Care Trust in 2018 and enjoys learning something new each day. She finds her role rewarding because of the difference she knows it makes to the lives of Meadowcroft residents.


Jacky likes to spend her spare time walking her dogs, socialising with family and friends and is partial to a bit of retail therapy.


Scott

Scott Turvey

Job Title: Dementia Leader

Joined: 2011

Scott holds an NVQ levels 2 and 3 in Dementia and a level 2 in Leadership and has worked for The Orders of St John Care Trust since 2011. He got promoted to one of Meadowcroft’s Care Leaders and is now the Dementia Lead.


As the Dementia Care Leader, Scott's role consists of running a household and leading a team, looking after vulnerable people with many different health conditions, and providing person centred care to support the day to day living of individuals. As the Dementia Lead, he works closely with staff, residents and the admiral nurse team to help the team at Meadowcroft provide outstanding dementia care.


Scott has always been interested in a career in care. He enjoys getting to know all about the residents’ lives, their likes and dislikes, what makes a difference to them and what helps to put a smile on their face. This passion and drive was recognised on two different occasions when Scott was awarded ‘Young Carer of the Year’ and ‘Carer of the Year’ at OSJCT’s Oxfordshire Employee Awards.


In Scott’s spare time he enjoys listening to music, playing games, socialising and going walking.


Helen

Helen Butler

Job Title: Head Housekeeper

Joined: 2011

Helen has several years’ experience working in the care sector and has been Head Housekeeper at Meadowcroft since 2011.


Helen is a naturally tidy and organised person with NVQs in Hospitality and Supervision which helps in her role to ensure the residents’ rooms, bathrooms and the entire home is kept beautifully hygienic and spick and span. She organises her team’s daily activity with a structured approach to ensure every part of this large home is maintained properly and to allow for areas of priority throughout the day.


Helen is proud to maintain high standards throughout the home and enjoys getting to know residents and their families. She is particularly proud of a raffle she helped organise at the home which raised over £200 for the RAF.


When she is not at work Helen fits in long walks around volunteering on a heritage railway and helping to run a youth group.


Jobin

Jobin Sebastian

Job Title: Care Leader

Joined: 2009

Jobin is the Care Leader at Meadowcroft, joining the Trust in 2009. He started working in the care sector in 2008 and began his career as a Health Care Assistant and has subsequently worked his way up to Care Leader. His role is to ensure the residents here have an active and purposeful life.


Jobin said "Meadowcroft is a sociable and a great part of our local Thame Community as most of the residents are from the nearby area. I love how involved we are. I am so proud to work alongside a great team. We are one big Meadowcroft family."


Outside of his work hours, Jobin spends time with his family and spend lots of his time cultivating vegetables in his allotment and at home. Jobin also loves cooking.


Jobin is happy to be part of Meadowcroft which in his opinion, is the best care home in the area and beyond!


Paul

Paul Silver

Job Title: Chef

Joined: 2021

Paul is a chef at Meadowcroft in Thame. He joined the Trust in May 2021, and has worked in care homes for the last 10 years. He gained NVQ Level 2 in Catering & Hospitality at Henley College, and has worked in catering all his life.


Paul has a young Labrador – Charlie, that enjoys his walks!


Gail

Gail Close

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Joined: 2021

Gail is a qualified RGN and has worked in oncology and palliative care before moving into care settings. She started at Meadowcroft in 2021 as a nurse before being promoted to Deputy Manager.


She enjoys the challenges and diversity of the role, including supporting all the staff to offer individualised care to all the residents.


When she isn’t at work Gail can either be found running along the Phoenix Trail, cheering on Chinnor Rugby or curled up with a coffee and a book.
