Originally home to three generations of blanket industrialists, the prominent Early family, Newland House has been thoughtfully re-designed, incorporating all of its original features to provide a safe, appealing and comfortable home for its residents.

Located in the thriving Cotswold market town of Witney, 12 miles west of the City of Oxford, Newland House can be found tucked away behind an appealing façade of traditional Oxfordshire stone. A fully-trained, compassionate and caring team has created an exceptional residential care home equipped with 28 bedrooms and spaces inside and out to enjoy both companionship and privacy.

Residents benefit from fully inclusive home cooked meals in the dining room, socialising in the communal areas or relaxing in the garden along with daily activities schedule with trips out, access to video calling and all inclusive laundry service.

Mum lived at Newland House for almost three years. The staff helped her settle in very quickly. The carers were always kind and patient, even with disruptive residents.
Mum was always dressed carefully. She enjoyed the food and the only frozen food used were peas and ice-cream. Some staffing difficulties
recently were dealt with decisively and wisely.
We felt sure mum was in a safe place and she was happy there. There was a varied programme of activities.

I visited Newland House to see an old friend who I had not seen in several years. Staff made me feel very welcome and I could clearly see that they put their heart and soul into everything that they do. It was so nice to see residents with a smile on their face and staff encouraging residents to get
involved with day to day tasks. Visiting Newlands has really changed my perception of care homes.

Newland House is a safe and caring environment in which my mother is settled and seemingly happy. The staff are kind and caring and very sympathetic to my mother's needs.
The interior is in the process of being redecorated and is looking lovely. My mother eats sparingly but never complains about the
food a good sign.

The staff at Newland House were attentive of the needs of my Aunt. They were always kind and caring. I was always informed of any changes in her health and the Doctors at the local surgery were called without hesitation if they were concerned. My Aunt was in the home for three years before she passed
away and the same staff were there throughout. This continuation of care meant they knew and understood her needs at all time.

A lovely welcoming home. The staff were very nice and made my mother who has dementia very comfortable. They looked after her very well and she was very happy. My father was reassured that she was being taken care of and this made him happy to leave her for a few days before visiting. Our thanks to
everyone at Newland House.

Visited over the past nine years to see my old neighbour and her sister, who was also in the home from 2013 - 2015. The staff are delightful, willing and able. They appear to love their jobs and really care about the residents, treating them with respect and dignity, but also with affection.
My neighbour
found staff were so kind and she enjoyed joking with them. They provided very individualised care, including shopping and visits to the garden centre before she became too frail. During her last days she was kept comfortable and at peace. Her sister, who died last year received the same high standard of care.
Surroundings are pleasant, bright and clean. They are decorated and re-furnished regularly, making it so homelike for residents.
The staff are always welcoming in spite of a busy workload and work well as a team. Some have been in post all the years I visited. I congratulate them for their excellent care and praise them for their very valuable work.

Newland House is not a "typical" care home. It is a very friendly community where all the residents are treated with dignity, dedication and with utmost respect. The staff are jolly, upbeat in manner, enthusiasm and genuinely interested in all the residents they care for. They also cater for all the
residents individual needs as they present themselves at any given time. The manager herself is extremely open and honest- telling one how things really are- with much insight and understanding.

My mother is well cared for by a lovely team of carers. The manager and deputy are friendly and welcoming, and promote a high standard of care. Mother always looks well groomed, her behaviour can be challenging at times, this is dealt with in a kind and professional manner by all. The home is always
clean, residents are treated as individuals. All the staff including the handyman, cook and cleaners as well as managers and carers threat all residents with respect and care.

A warm welcome with friendly staff. A homely feel with no urine smells. Residents all seem happy too. They do great activities and have great entertainment like a someone playing the piano and singing the old songs back in their day. Great atmosphere in there too.

Mum, aged 92, moved from Portsmouth to Newland House in October 2014, after family concerns regarding her ability to cope on her own in her flat, due to both memory and mobility problems. Newland House is a welcoming friendly home and not being huge (26 rooms max) has a real family feel to it. We have
been so impressed by the love, care and support both mum, and on some occasions when she was very poorly family, have received from the staff. Mum loves being there, she has put on weight, enjoys taking part in activities and talks enthusiastically about all the staff. We have complete faith in the staff who support her and completely understand her needs. We know she is safe and happy, which is reassuring to her family.

Hello, my name is Olajide Olalekan ACIPD, and I am the Deputy Home Manager at Newland House, Witney.
I am an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (ACIPD), and I have a master’s degree in Global Human Resources Management.
I also have a Level 7 NVQ diploma in Health and Social Care Management.


Over the years, I have worked in various sectors with a background in Banking, Human Resources and including healthcare & social care, where I’ve supported the creation of positive work environments and high-quality care delivery. I am passionate about driving organizational success by fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.


My experience has equipped me with a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced in the care industry, and I’m passionate about creating environments that not only prioritize employee well-being but also deliver high-quality care to those who need it.
As I work at Hartford Care, my aspirations for the residents at Newland House are centred around creating a nurturing, supportive, and empowering environment that prioritizes their well-being, dignity, and independence. I aim to foster a culture of compassion and respect where each resident feels valued, heard, and cared for as an individual.


My goal is to collaborate with the team to ensure that the care provided is of the highest quality, focusing not only on physical health but also on mental and emotional well-being. I hope to contribute to initiatives that enhance the residents' quality of life, support their personal goals, and ensure they are treated with the respect and kindness they deserve.
