Such a wonderful home from home. During December everyone has been involved in activities, making gingerbread, Christmas cakes, decorations, reminiscing about Christmas past and singing. This is just a few of the things they have been doing. All the staff are kind and always have time for their residents
and their relatives! Mum is happy here and that says it all.

Mum stayed at The Abbeyfield Oxenford House for two weeks respite following her illness. She received excellent care throughout and on leaving said 'I am only going home thanks to you helping me to get better'. Everyone was professional and compassionate and concerned to meet Mum's individual needs.

The home is extremely comfortable and the overall care is very good. The general atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly with varied activities. Overall, 2.5 enjoyable years so far.

My mother has been a resident at Oxenford House for 8 years and the staff continue to care for her as her dependency has increased. I am so grateful she has not had to move on to another care home as she has become more frail and forgetful. It means so much to the family that we have a relationship
with those who look after our mother thoughtfully and patiently and that she trusts them to do so too.

The staff and facilities are to be congratulated, especially since covid 19 has been an issue in the community. The staff are friendly and supportive of my father's care needs. My father's medical welfare is well managed and I've been kept informed about any issues concerning his health. Overall, the
building and rooms are well maintained and the garden is well kept, landscaped and seasonally planted to create an inviting and safe area for residents and visitors. The Abbeyfield has held several resident and family events over the past 12 months, including Christmas, which have been well organised and enjoyed by all attending.

Dad has been very well cared for, especially since Covid struck, when he aged quite a bit, they have been so patient with him. He always seems to enjoy his meals (and if their social events are anything to go by, the chef is excellent) and is always looking smart and well-tended. I always felt confident
that Dad is well looked after.

Mum has been at Oxenford House since March 2020, she arrived just before the first lockdown. Everyone at the home has treated mum with care and dignity since she arrived, getting to know her likes and dislikes. With the restrictions lockdown have brought every effort has been made to enable updates
on mum, with help she even embraced using Skype. Due to mums severe macular degeneration issues I was unable to use garden visits. Since last autumn though I’ve been able to visit mum using the micro pod, it allows us to sit as close as possible so mum can see me with both of us staying safe.
March 2021 saw mums 100th birthday which everyone made very special. A beautiful cake was made for mum with a picture of her favourite dog on it, I joined her at the pod for cake. Mum herself says everyone is very kind to her and the food is good, for a fussy eater that is high praise. Thank you to all the staff for making mum's new home so safe and comfortable.

My father (97) moved into The Abbeyfield Oxenford Society at a very difficult time in May 2020. It was during lockdown, he was recuperating from a broken hip, losing my mum and his little dog, all in the previous eight months. He was isolated for two weeks due to Covid risks. Unfortunately I still haven't
been able to see his room or view inside the home. Very difficult times.
However he is settled, his general health has improved and he looks well. He enjoys the food and says he is happy there. The staff are kind and caring and very approachable.
It was a difficult decision for me to make to put him in Oxenford House, but it's wonderful to see the difference in him now.

My father moved to Oxenford House in early 2020, settled in quickly and was very happy there. I think that was largely due to the happy atmosphere in the home and the excellent personalised care and genuine affection he received from the staff. Many of the carers have worked at Oxenford for several
years and it is obvious that for them it is more of a vocation than just a job. The home fully deserves its CQC rating of outstanding for care. I have been particularly impressed by how well and cheerfully they have coped with the pressures of the coronavirus working conditions. The food is good, the garden is very pleasant and the activities programme is varied. A planned upgrade of residents rooms will make the home even better. The management team are friendly and efficient and communicate well with residents' families. I have visited relatives in other care homes and Oxenford is definitely the best I have experienced. I don't think I could have chosen a better one for my father.

My mother has been a resident of Oxenford House since 2007. She is very happy there, and her care has been exceptional. It has truly become her home. All the staff have shown her nothing but kindness and understanding. She is now 95 and has lost a lot of her abilities, but the carers have always made
her feel comfortable and treated with dignity. I cannot recommend it more highly.

We have two periods of contact with Oxenford House. About 13 years ago my mother chose Oxenford House to provide respite care for my father for a few short periods after a severe stroke. 10 years later in 2015, my mother had developed dementia and when she became unable to care for herself we were comforted
that there was a space at Oxenford House. The manager and many of the staff were the same - the sign of a happy place, and they remembered my father (and mother), proven by remarks like 'you do look like your father'. We have found everyone to be extremely caring and professional.
As my mother's needs became more demanding, the staff were able to adapt the care needed and provide a happy and genuinely caring environment. This flexibility and care were maintained providing a warm, caring, comfortable and familiar place to be until she passed away in May 2018. Inside I am oozing more positive feelings but being a man I am to the point.

My mother spent her last 20 months at Oxenford House after her cancer had been diagnosed. The personal care she was given was excellent, particularly as she became less able to look after herself. All the staff were professional, kind and tactful. The care home is very clean, tidy and efficiently
run.
My mother enjoyed many of the activities regularly organised. The poetry and music sessions were great favourites, but one of the services she most appreciated was the regular manicures. She was proud of her nails for the first time in over 90 years.
My mother also appreciated the willingness of the management to be flexible over changing her room to accommodate her personal effects.
The end-of-life care she was given was excellent and she was very relieved to be able to receive the care she needed without having to be admitted to hospital. In my mother's last few days, I was touched by the care taken with small details to make her room quiet and restful.

My mother chose to come to Oxenford House without hesitation after three short respite stays. Everyone at Abbeyfield made her last eighteen months of life as happy and fulfilled as possible. She was treated as an individual, with sensitivity and respect, and really felt this was her home. Visitors were
made so welcome and all friends and family commented positively on their experience of visiting mum. Any little issues worrying mum were ironed out and thought given to her particular interests. She loved the garden, taking daily walks under the watchful eye of the staff, and was particularly delighted when the baby ducklings hatched! Little but important matters that meant so much.
We were particularly glad that mum's wish to remain at Oxenford in her final days was fulfilled, and the sensitivity and care given to us all at this time were much appreciated.
I have recommended Oxenford House to other people and will continue to do so.

My Mother was at Abbeyfield Cumnor for about 6 years and I have nothing but praise for the way that she was looked after and the very professional management there. Everybody showed very tender care and great patience in dealing with her character and various needs.

I am very happy to recommend Oxenford House as a place which has provided and is providing very good care for my mother, who has been a resident there for the last 6 years. The staff manage her complex needs with sensitivity and care. She has arthritis, poor sight and hearing and is now in the advanced
stages of dementia. It has been a blessing for me and all her family to know that she is well looked after by staff who understand her well. One particular asset of this home is the fact that the staff change little and so they get to know the residents very well and are able to cater for their changing needs over a long period of time.
