My mother spent nearly two years at Oxenford House. As her immediate relative, I was very happy with her care. The home is relatively small with a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. As a resident, she was treated with respect and dignity and her individual needs met with patience and understanding.
Staff were flexible and considerate and when she no longer wished to eat with other residents in the dining room, she was given her meals in her room. The food was varied, fresh and with choices and the menu sometimes quite superior on special occasions.
A variety of activities were arranged by the staff, including a poetry group which my mother very much enjoyed. Local groups from outside the house were often invited in to provide entertainment and interaction with residents.
The home has a feeling of being well run and the staff happy. There was always a warm welcome as a visitor and the Manager always had time for a chat.
I would absolutely recommend Oxenford House.

Overall, I am very impressed with the care my mother receives. All the staff seem friendly and helpful. The residents have a variety of entertainments on a regular basis. The staff interact in a caring fashion with the residents and will help with any queries I may have. All staff are approachable and
nothing seems too much trouble for them.


The house is clean and fresh smelling. The meals served are varied with a couple of choices on the menu. It's a small and cosy establishment, carpeted throughout, giving a quiet atmosphere.


I would consider Oxenford House myself if ever I have the need of help in my old age.

Oxenford House was the first residential care home we entered that exuded happy active homeliness, most of the residents were up and about in the main day rooms doing organised activities, in with the hairdresser, reading or chatting with each other and staff. There were no “head back mouth open” residents
in evidence which were often the most common sight in other homes we saw; I didn't believe that happens by accident and since my mother moved in 9 months ago we now know it doesn't.


To be honest it's difficult to say how positive I feel about the care my mother is getting without sounding over the top but I am totally genuine when I say the management and staff in all areas are first class. As a relatively small home the manager is constantly in contact with all the team and has been able to retain key people for many years and that really matters in delivering the highest quality care. This home is a little gem and my mother is very happy there.
