    During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
    and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
    services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
    will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
    services at the time you request them.
    They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
    however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
    services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
    be paid for by yourself.

The home itself and all the staff are very welcoming and the atmosphere friendly and comfortable. From the minute my aunt arrived at Spencer Court, she has been treated with dignity and as an individual and she has been allowed to be herself, with help and support of staff who seem to truly understand
the needs of those living with dementia. The activities are varied and outings frequent and the activities coordinator inspirational, bringing the best out of the residents and particularly my aunt. The home is very clean and I have no worries about leaving my aunt in their capable hands.

Our uncle joined Spencer Court in March 2023. From the very start he has been made welcome, he felt at home straight away. The care and attention he has received has been of an extremely high standard. He feels safe and secure.
The home is well-led and managed. Staff are efficient and extremely helpful.
As
a family, we have appreciated the support we have received to help our uncle at what can be a time of adjustment and change.

Took my mother out in the car and staff cannot be more helpful. I phone most weeks and again no complaints. Very pleased with my mother's care.

Such a friendly and welcoming home, where Mum has been so happy for several years.
There are lots of stimulating activities, definitely 'something for everyone'. And quiet time for those who want it, important to Mum, who loves a good book.
The team who look after the residents are absolutely wonderful.

Dad has been at Spencer Court for several years. When I go to visit him, it is obvious that the staff look after him well. He is happy being there and realises he is in the right place. I did join a get-together with staff and residents (cheese and wine); it was nice to meet other residents. Unfortunately,
Dad was not well enough to go but would have liked to. This get-together did help us to know more about each other.

My mum was a resident at Spencer Court for nearly two years. She died on 2nd March 2023. I could not have wished for a better standard of care for her. She was treated with love, care and compassion. She was respected and treated with dignity. Every member of staff, without fail, went above and beyond
for my mum. Nothing was too much trouble for her. In her final weeks, the care was exemplary with the staff being so gentle and loving. Mum was kept clean and tidy as her condition prevented her from looking after herself. As her final days approached, the staff absolutely took her to their hearts and kept her comfortable and pain-free.
I have nothing but gratitude and thanks to them for looking after Mum the way they did. They made her final days and hours as peaceful as possible and gave me the peace of mind that only comes with the caring and compassionate people they are.
I would not have wished her to have been anywhere other than Spencer Court.

My relative had a recent stay in Spencer Court to convalesce following a hospital admission. The home is bright, cheerful and has a positive feel. All the staff we met were caring and worked as a team. The activities and outings arranged were food and enabled my aunt to visit places she had not been
to for a while. The Christian ethos was particularly encouraging and welcoming. We were sorry when my relative had to go home, but felt the stay had been very beneficial to her.

I get really well looked after. I do want to spend time in my room reading and do enjoy joining in with activities as well. Because I have lived and worked in the area for 40 years, I have friends and family around to come and see me and take me out, so I am a lucky lady.

It was easy to book a time to visit, and I was welcomed on arrival and taken to my friend's room. She was in good spirits and obviously felt at home at Spence Court. Her room was newly decorated, clean and tidy. My friend enjoyed the easy access to the garden, social activities and meals cartering for
her dietary needs. The staff were friendly and offered me a drink at coffee/tea time.

I attended the Jubilee garden party at Spencer Court. It was a joy to observe all the staff and residents having a good time together. The genuine warmth and affection from the staff were evident while always taking the care necessary and being respectful. So glad my dad is in good hands.

Angela

Angela Champ

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2023

Angela began her career in the care sector as soon as she turned 18 following providing care to a family member at a young age, she knew this was the career for her from that moment. She loves making a difference to individuals residing in the home and supporting her teams within their roles.


She has progressed within her career in a nursing home environment and throughout the last 11 years, she has been privileged to have been provided the most outstanding training and support to be able to confidently manage Spencer Court and to support each and every staff member to achieve their goals and be the best they can be.


She has an NVQ level 3 in health and social care, a city and guilds accredited living in my world dementia qualification and she is currently In progress with her level 5 management NVQ. The dedicated team at Spencer Court work with her to deliver the highest standards of person-centred care and achieve the best outcomes in every aspect for each individual residing at the home.


She feels privileged to take care of people’s loved ones and treat each individual as she would her own family

Spencer Court is a beautiful home situated in the outstanding community of Woodstock and we certainly take every opportunity to make frequent visits with our residents to the beautiful Blenheim Palace.


Angela has lived in Oxford all her life and in her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, partner & family, reading and attending to her allotment.


Jane

Jane Ravenhill

Job Title: Head of Care

Jane has worked at Spencer Court since 2012, starting her career as a carer before working her way up to care leader and now the head of care. Jane holds a number of qualifications in health and social care and has recently completed her level 4 diploma in Adult care and also holds a level 3 diploma in leadership and management. Jane knew she always wanted to work in the care sector following caring for both Grandparents when she was younger.


Jane has many fond memories of working at Spencer Court over the years and feels it a very lovely place to work, it feels part of a community and the residents and staff make it so warm and welcoming. She feels they are so lucky to have a link with Blenheim Palace which means lots of trips up to the Palace and grounds when the weather permits.


Jane enjoys spending time with her young family in her free time including walking their dog, going on day trips and holidays. She enjoys gardening and spending time outdoors where she can.


Carole 'Candy'

Carole 'Candy' Andrews

Job Title: Care Leader

Candy has been one of Spencer Court’s Care Leaders since 2017 and has over 20 years’ experience working in the care sector, holding Health and Social Care NVQs at levels 2 and 3. She started as a cook and then decided to step into the care team, eventually becoming care leader.


Candy loves talking to the residents and her caring nature means she finds it easy to be supportive towards them as well as towards her colleagues.


Elaine

Elaine Glastonbury

Job Title: Chef

Joined: 2022

Elaine is our chef here at Spencer Court. She joined us after a long career in catering which has seen her working in hospitals, private houses, pubs, and cafes. Elaine has always loved working with food and has gained many qualifications in catering and hospitality as well as team management to support her practical experience.


Elaine enjoys working at Spencer Court; she says her team is like a little family in the kitchen and she enjoys working as part of that team. She loves preparing meals for the residents and ensuring they have a balanced and nutritious diet.


Building on that, Elaine’s goal is to see that each resident is happy with their meals and that she can provide the little extras they so enjoy so that everyone has their favourite things.


Out of work, Elaine loves gardening and DIY as well as Jazzercise. She even taught Jazzercise for five years! It helps keep her fit and well, emotionally and physically.
