Bridge House is an impressive Tudor-style building that dates back to the 16th century and although it has been modernised with two large extensions many of its original features have been retained.

The home benefits from 2 spacious lounges, both of which overlook the beautiful extensive grounds.

Situated in Elstead, Surrey, Bridge House can also extend its services to look after those with temporary respite care needs, thanks to a dedicated team of carers.

I have just returned home after visiting my sister who lives in Bridge House at Elstead. Bridge House is like a beautiful hotel very nice and friendly staff. Lots of activities are provided, today it was musical movements, cake making and icing which they enjoy.

I found the home very clean and welcoming. My friend has settled in well and was enjoying the care and food. I did not visit whilst any activity was being done but it seems they have varied entertainment and activity throughout the week. One suggestion would be nice for visitors to be offered a drink.
Parking could be difficult if all residents had a visitor at the same time.

My mother was a resident at Bridge House from 2011-2016. She passed away on 8th May 2016 at Bridge House. The care she had from the time she became a resident until her death aged 101 was second to none. The staff were caring and kind to mum and the family cannot praise them enough.

This review is what I have seen when visiting. I live next door so a long connection. I have felt when I have visited that all the staff are so helpful and seem to really care about those in their care. My friend speaks most highly also of the care he has received over several years. I have visited
to join in with a church service held in a side room and yesterday there was an intervention to tea and cakes to support the Alzheimer's society which was well attended and again the staff were great.

Our mother has been in Bridge House for over ten years. She is beautifully looked after, her needs met particularly as they are changing as she becomes frailer. She is very happy there and it is her ‘home’. One of the reasons we chose it so many years ago (apart from the fact that it was the only
one we visited that didn't smell) was because it had the feeling of being a real home and not a large purpose built institution - with approximately 26 rooms it was in our opinion an ideal size. Staff and residents are a ‘family’ and some carers have been there since she first went there. Issues are dealt with promptly. It should be noted that the home has an excellent local GP Practice with an amazing response if there is a crisis. The food is very good and the lovely chef is involved in the life of the home. It is particularly well managed and most of the common areas have been updated recently. The garden is pleasant with plenty of shade and lovely for the residents in summer.

It was with an initial heavy heart, my sister and I finally succumbed to finding a care home for our dear mum.


Bridge House did not disappoint. Nowhere compares to our own home, but Bridge House staff have ensured that this is as good as a close second place as it gets. Mum is treated with dignity

by them and supported.
They are loving, caring, cheerful individuals (mum loves them all), they are always to hand to make you feel comfortable and welcome when paying a visit, nothing sees too much trouble.
For us thus far, 5 stars all round!!!

My mother was welcomed in to Bridge House by lovely friendly staff. She has a small but cosy bedroom and is always nice and warm. The meals are very good and mum is encouraged to eat which is good. There are daily activities by a lovely friendly lady. When we visit we are always offered drinks which
is nice as it is a long drive for us. I cannot find anything to criticise.

Mum was admitted to Bridge House in September 2015. We as a family have found them to be extremely warm and friendly and have made the transition to a care home very reassuring for both the family and mum. She is happy there. The food is very good. Activities every day. Trips are organised. Mum is always
clean and well looked after. No unpleasant smells. Décor is clean and bright. They have made the home feel like a home from home. Very pleased.
