Overall Experience

Cossins House seems a very happy place. There is always a pleasant atmosphere and I have noticed a pleasing improvement in the general environment since the new manager took over. The staff do a difficult job with a smile on the faces, which cannot always be easy. Personally, I am very happy to see

my relative in these surroundings.
Perhaps a little more "supervision" in the lounge might be appreciated (not observed but reported).

Overall Experience

We have been here for 2 days so far.
We are very impressed with the quality of the caring and great kindness of all the staff. There are reliable people around if help is needed.
The garden is particularly attractive and the flowers add greatly to the cheerfulness of the home.
The food seems very

good too.

This home is excellent. I visit my Gran and always I am impressed with the kindness, care, patience and compassion showed by staff and management. A very welcoming place with a lot of laughter. Overall Experience

Overall Experience

Very very excellent home for elderly people. Staff are very caring. Food is ok and yummy. Very nice garden to walk around - I enjoy doing that. Good size room. Enjoy activities but would welcome more.

Overall Experience

I wanted to drop a review in for this amazing care home. Goodness, I do not think a review will justify the amazing work and care that everyone does to make my grandmothers life at Cossins so wonderful. They all, in their kind and caring way, go beyond the call of duty as such to do things for my grandmother

and more so for all of us as a family now. There have been so many ups and downs with my grandmother's health and yet the one thing that is stable throughout is the staff care and love shown to all of us. Thank you and I would not hesitate to recommend this home.

Overall Experience

I’ve been volunteering at Cossins House for a month now, and I can honestly say that this is one of the most caring facilities I have ever been to. The staff are second to none; not only did they make me feel welcome as soon as I walked in, but also the love and care they have for the residents is remarkable.

The residents are always looked after, and most importantly loved and looked after. There are always activities to be done to get the residents to socialize and have a good time, as well as everyone checking up on every resident to make sure they are always well cared for. The grounds are beautifully kept, complete with a chicken coop and pond; the residents are able to take walks in summer and have access to great facilities. I couldn’t have asked to work at a better home, and I feel that I am part of a family I will have for life.

Overall Experience

All the staff are extremely welcoming and are able to update on my mother’s condition anytime I visit her.
She has had a lesion on her leg which was very worrying, however, through attentive and thorough care, this has improved immensely. The staff regularly visit her in her room and engage and she

responds and seems to be able to recognise them, albeit in her limited way.

I visited my friend recently and I thought I was at the wrong address, a grand difference from the entrance and inside the home. Of course, my friend is extremely happier about the change at Cossins. Team members are the same enthusiastic, happy and ready to help. You can feel in the atmosphere, the

compassion and care, and the teamwork. A good feel care home I must admit.

Overall Experience

I have been invited to a few of Cossins House activities, I must say, it seemed to me that the staff have given 100% effort to make all the residents, family and friends of every resident feel at home. Activities were brilliant, a lot of dancing, singing and food was always good. Lovely people.

Overall Experience

Every time I go to visit our elderly friend at Cossins House, it’s always felt very homely. Staff are always very friendly, always saying hello and how am I doing? That’s a great feeling though. Never forget to ask me, if I wanted to have any drinks.

Overall Experience

Very friendly and caring, lovely atmosphere and great grounds and gardens.
The building is not best suited to a care home due to the different levels on the first floor but, having said that, it does give the more mobile clients a bit of exercise.
The top rooms do seem to get rather hot in the summer.
But

all in all, it's a lovely place for the clients to live.

Overall Experience

I've been coming here to visit my Gran since I was about 5 years old and I can say with confidence that the staff at Cossins House have done everything in their power to make sure Gran was as happy and comfortable as she could be. And when times were hard they were here for me and the rest of the family

Overall Experience

My mother has been cared for by all the staff in Cossins House since April 2017.
We feel so fortunate to have found Cossins House as the care is phenomenal.
My mother has complex needs and nothing is too much trouble in order for her to be comfortable.

Rose Punzal

Job Title: General Manager

Joined: 2003

Healthcare has always been the driving force of my career, ever since I trained as Registered Pharmacist in Philippines for 10 years.

I moved to the UK in 2003, joining Cossins House as a Care Assistant, working my way up eventually to Deputy Manager and now General Manager.

As a General Manager, I am responsible for managing all aspects of the home’s daily operation, ensuring that the highest possible standard of care is provided and in accordance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Barchester policies.

As a leader, I will demonstrate an open and transparent culture, whereby my staff feel valued and developed.

As a team, we have achieved the prestigious Gold Standard Framework (GSF) Award-Platinum Status and a CQC 'Outstanding' in Care Domain.

As a person, I am kind, calm and patient. I love to spend time video calling and chatting with my family back home. I am a mother of one child and happily married.

I started my career in care industry as Senior Care Assistant way back in 2006 in Nottingham, before moving to Surrey in 2010. I find my role really fulfulling!

Lisa Unsworth

I am the Activity Leader here at Cossins House and provide a large number of activities. We work on a person-centred approach for each of our residents. We work as a team to engage with everyone and work to the needs of each resident. We have lots of fun and games indoors and outdoors, trips out, LIVE music and entertainment and one-to-one sessions.

We have a Holy Communion service every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month and a hairdresser that visits every other Monday. We are always open to new ideas and have volunteers coming in each week. We work closely with Pet Therapy and have several dogs visiting. We work with local schools, who sing for us every Christmas.

Catherine Edwards

Catherine has been at Cossins House for 7 years and is responsible for ensuring the administration of the home runs smoothly and effectively. This includes both our management accounts and payroll.

Manny Muthy

Raji Dhuna

I started my career as a chef in 2008 and joined Cossins House in 2019. I am passionate about working with fresh produce, creating well-balanced, seasonal menus focused on residents' choices and the nutritional value of the dishes. I enjoy having a chat with the residents and their visitors to get to know more about their likes and dislikes. I cook with a dedication to ensure the residents enjoy their meals.
