It's great care, mum seems to be happy, well looked after. The location is great as it is very peaceful. The staff does a great job with mum and all the residents.

Dungate Manor is a very clean and comfortable home and recent refurbishments have made the home more so. I have found the Staff/Carers very supportive and professional as are the Management Team. I have witnessed the compassion and understanding the carers give to my Mother (and other residents) which
is given in a manner that promotes dignity.


The doctor visits weekly.


There is a range of activities, quizzes, games etc. for the residents.

My mother was a resident at Dungate for the last 6 months of her life and based on the care she was given, we had no hesitation in putting dad there 6 months later when he couldn't cope anymore. He has now been there for just over 2 years and during that time, the care that has been given has been excellent.

Dungate is in a lovely setting with an accessible garden. The managers, staff and residents are all very friendly and supportive. The doctor and nurse visit regularly and keep us informed.
There are seasonal social events for the whole family and daily morning quizzes and varied afternoon activities.
The food is good with a broad menu and family may stay and eat by special arrangement.
The staff do their best for each individual person, even when stretched.
There is a real family atmosphere.

My mother has stayed at Dungate Manor since September 2009. I have found the home to be always helpful and understanding of my mother's terminal illness, caring for her needs with dignity and compassion.

Job Title: Care Home Manager

We offer first-class care for the elderly on a permanent or respite basis, delivered by highly trained professionals in lovely comfortable surroundings.


Our philosophy is simple; we want everyone to enjoy life to the fullest. We never forget that all our residents are individuals and we treat them with dignity, privacy and respect while offering freedom of choice and as much independence as possible.


Friends and family are welcome at any time. Hot drinks and snacks are always available and guests are invited to share a meal with residents. Our cook prepares three nutritious meals a day and the menu changes regularly to reflect seasonal produce. Special diets are catered for.


Residents have the freedom to choose what to do and when. There is plenty going and our activities coordinator puts together a full programme which is adapted to suit the needs and wishes of our residents. Activities include quizzes, sing-alongs, reminiscence therapy, indoor games, arts and crafts, baking and wherever possible, trips out and about.
