Glendale in Walton-On-Thames is operated by Anchor and provides residential and dementia care for up to 61 customers in homely and comfortable single ensuite rooms.

The care team ensures customers’ health and care needs are met throughout their time at Glendale through a detailed care plan which is put together with input from loved ones.

Staff receive regular training to ensure their approach to care reflects best practice and they strive to get to know customers properly and build strong relationships to provide the highest levels of care. Meals are cooked freshly on site to each residents' dietary requirements and tastes, with snacks also provided every day.

Anchor operates on a not-for-profit basis, reinvesting funds made back into its retirement properties and care homes to ensure its standards exceed customers’ expectations.

As a friend of a resident, I have always found the staff to be very caring, friendly and helpful. The home is kept clean and tidy and residents seem generally content and well cared for. Due to the fact that my friend is younger than most and suffering with dementia, my concern is that she does not
relate to the other residents due to the age difference, therefore I question if it the right place for her. I also think there should be more physical exercise ie, walking and gentle exercise as she has become much more sedate and slow since being here for 1 year now. I believe she should get out more in the fresh air even for a short walk.

I always find my mum in a good frame of mind, clean, very well fed and, content and happy. My family and I all feel that the whole team who look after my mum have her care at the forefront of their role and give her a voice, treat her with respect while providing her with good and realistic levels of
independence. We, as a family, are impressed by the way our mum's outlook on her day to day life has improved since she arrived at Glendale and when we visit her we are all made to feel welcome. The whole service comes across as being transparent and honest. Finally, you must know that some of the above are my mum's own words. :)
