Greys Residential Home is a converted rectory and has been run as a care home by the Kennedy family since 1984. Over the years, the house has had extensive investments to provide the modern facilities available today. The latest investment in 2024 is a renovation of the East wing, which provides 4 large rooms with en-suite facilities and private doors onto the secure gardens.

Greys is registered for 24 older people age 65+. Offering care for people with mobility and memory issues and those who just don't want to be alone anymore. Approximately 50% of Residents have a diagnosis of dementia, however clients are only accepted in the early stages of dementia.

Resident accommodation is over two floors and there is a lift to the first floor. Staff reside on the second floor.

The Residents all have their own en-suite bathroom. All rooms have a TV and telephone point and a carer call system. Rooms are furnished to suit the Resident and personal items are encouraged to make the room homely and familiar.

Residents can enjoy several gardens and outside seating and patio areas. The main garden and rear garden is decked flat and accessible from downstairs bedrooms.

There are two spacious lounges with televisions and tea and coffee making facilities. There is also a dining room and library books available for Residents to use. All communal areas have just completed a full refurbishment programme.

A hairdresser visits weekly and the chiropodist monthly, whilst doctor and dentist visits can be arranged any time.

Wi-Fi connection is available throughout the home and there are video-conferencing facilities such as Zoom & Skype.

The home offers a full and varied range of activities including trips out. Recent visits include boat trips down the River Wey, Guildford Cathedral flower festival, exotic butterflies at RHS Wisley, The Ritz, The Ivy & Buckingham Palace (these trips are accessible to all Residents).

In the four years that I have lived here, I know that to come to Greys was a good decision. The staff are always very supportive but still encourage you to be independent where possible and always listen you your comments with understanding.

I cannot fault the care my father has received during the year he has been a resident st Greys. The staff are always friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble and they cope with any situation professionally, calmly and still smile. My father frequently says he is "lucky to be there" that says
it all.

I was in Greys Residential Home from 16th December to 13th January 2020 as a respite resident after a total knee replacement. In that time, I received consistent care, kindness and encouragement. All was well organised, and I can only say positive things and express my gratitude now I am home.

My mother has been a resident at Greys for 7 months now and she is very happy there. They provide a very caring environment in a very homely house. She enjoys the extra activities, which include exercise classes, games, quizzes and art classes. She has made many new friends enjoying the garden when

My mother-in-law moved into Greys in December 2017 and moved out due to hospital admission for end of life January 2020. She was warmly welcomed into the Greys family. The residential home is quite small, which give it a family feel. It is comfortably furnished with unusual and quirky items. The staff
are warm and supportive. Great lengths to provide entertainment and suitable activities. Great choice for those with extra support to live there best old age.

My 92yr old mother in law has been a resident since December 2018, although confused due to her progressive dementia she is very happy there, she become quite close to a few of the very kind caring staff.
Greys has that family atmosphere which is warm and welcoming.
The staff are very attentive,
personable and happy to share a joke with the residents.
Entertainment is a regular thing at Greys, especially when it comes to joining in singing some of the old songs.
Throughout my 12 months visiting Greys, I have never once smelt that urine smell you often get in some care homes which is a great recommendation to those of us who fear the worse when having to make the decision to place our parents in a care home.
The food is delicious, cakes and desserts all homemade I often sample when visiting in the afternoon with a nice cup of tea.
To sum Greys up, it really is home from home, I feel very lucky to have found it.

I visited Greys on many occasions to visit my dear long term friend who was a resident for the last six months until she was sadly admitted to hospital following a stroke.
As a registered nurse myself, I observed a comfortable, warm, friendly atmosphere whenever I visited. Also, my friend spoke so
highly of every individual member of staff at Greys, from the carers and housekeeping - she was extremely well looked after and very happy which made us, as friends and family so reassured.

I was very worried about coming into Greys Residential Home for 2 weeks while decorating is being done because I wear a colostomy bag, but the staff have been wonderful. I have felt completely at home and they have been so kind. I just can't praise Greys enough.

Mum was only in Greys for 2 months before she died. During that time, all the staff showed her a huge amount of dignity and authentic care. Greys is like a private mansion house and that gives it such a wonderful 1930's feel to it. Genuine, old fashioned in values but state of the art nursing and care.
I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a safe, dignified home for their relatives.

On our twice-weekly visits since August 2018 I have found the staff very friendly and caring to the gentleman staying there and to myself and his wife. He is always clean, neatly dressed and offered all the assistance needed. On our walk through the same must be said for all the residents. The ones
that can, always have a smile and a greeting and look happy. I have also noticed that there are card games, art, bingo and a lot of entertainment. Very well done.

This is a care home that really feels like a home. It doesn't smell old, the staff are friendly and supportive as well as adequate numbers to provide good care. There is a friendly atmosphere and birthdays etc are commemorated and celebrated - even with a gift for the celebrant. Meals are nice and suitable

My mother was a resident for over 6 years and we chose Greys because it was a well run, independent, family residential home with a homely environment. Over the six years, the standards of care strengthened and it remained an excellent home for my mother. The carers are well trained and experienced
and many have worked there for several years giving continuity of care and a stable home environment.
I can recommend this home without reservations.

Jo & Steve have owned and run Greys since 1998 after taking over from his parents who opened the home as a care home in 1984 but which was their private residence since Stephen was a child.


They run the home how they would like to live in it and respect individual choice and independence.


Stephen holds a BSc in Business Management and Jo is the qualified and registered CQC Nominated Individual (Dip. A NVQ4 & RMA in Health & Social Care)
