Kingsleigh care home in Old Woking provides residential and dementia care on a permanent or short-term basis.

The home has many modern attributes and shared facilities for residents to enjoy, including comfortable lounges, a hair and beauty salon, cinema room and a bar. BRILLIANT - Staff and all the team have made 100% sure my Aunt has settled in and actually have improved her Physical and mental well being - she is back to my Aunt of 5 years ago.!! Nothing is too much trouble, They always have time for a smile and talk with her. In her words " the best thing i could
have done" after living alone for four years . They always keep the family fully informed and involved.

Mum is coming up to 98 and in need of 24 hour care. She's lived in Kingsleigh for a year now and is healthier and happier since being there. The staff are fabulous and she loves them. It's a relief for me knowing that she is so well cared for.

My Dad has been at Kingsleigh since October 24.
The whole team are very friendly and helpful and made my Dad feel very comfortable from the start.
They make every effort to accommodate him and keep him happy.
Dad is very active and he is often accompanied on a walk or taken out for a walk.
Kingsleigh
have frequent entertainment that really helps to occupy him.
The care goes above and beyond expectation and we are very grateful to the staff for looking after him so well.

I'm so impressed with the staff and opportunities that my dear friend has at Kingsleigh. Sadly she was no able longer to live alone and I was impressed with this care home from the start.
Lovely clean rooms with great facilities. Everyone is always keen to help and my friend seems happy and content.
Her live has much more variety now and she loves getting up for a regular dance. Two staff members in particular do such an amazing job at entertaining the residents. Thank you Kingsleigh for taking a weight off my mind.

I'm extremely pleased with the care mums is provided with. The staff are very enthusiastic and caring.
The entertainment is very good and the residents can sing and dance which is fantastic.
Mum is always clean and happy and that is all we can ask for.

Dad moved into Kingdsleigh from hospital. The home manager and the team were reassuring and helpful. We as a family always felt Dad was well cared for. All the carers know him and the familiarity always seemed to settle Dad.

Mum has been a resident for over two years and is a lot better looked after than when she had carers at home. I like the idea that it's her home and we can visit any time. Mum is hard of hearing so lives in a quiet world. She needs to be encouraged to join in the activities so I am very pleased when

If your looking for a care home for a loved one then Kingsleigh is the place for you. Having had knowledge of care homes in the past this one is like home from home. I take my hat off to the kind and caring staff who I call Angels. I can rest easy knowing that my sister in law is in safe hands. The

My Dad has been at Kingsleigh for over ten years. During that time, he has always been happy, safe and well cared for. We are so grateful to all of the team at Kingsleigh for everything they do for my dad every day, managing his complex needs and treating him with respect and kindness. We can never
thank them enough for everything they did during the pandemic, the team really did go above and beyond. The home is lovely and welcoming and my dad loves all the activities and social events. We receive regular updates and I am always able to speak to a team leader or manager when needed. It is lovely to have Dad near us and we are so pleased we picked Kingsleigh all those years ago.

My mother-in-law has been a resident for approximately 6 months, she is 97 years old and had lived on her own before.
She has been welcomed and treated with kindness and respect from all the staff who she says are her friends.
There is always something going on for the residents if they wish to join
in.
She likes living there in her flat as she calls it.
She is treated like an individual and the staff have been brilliant with her family as well.
Couldn't have chosen a better place.

I have been amazed and touched by the level of care and love displayed by the home staff. Both particularly and pastorally, the team are second to none. My Dad has been in the care home since June 2021. The staff are caring, engaging and supportive and go the extra mile to communicate electronically with myself and my brothers. The facilities are of a good standard and my Dad is involved in regular activities to stimulate him. He is comfortable, warm
and content and it is very evident to see that he is at peace in this home.

My mother of 88 years with vascular dementia went into Kingsleigh initially on three weeks respite. The carers overall were very nice and caring, did everything to make her feel welcome. The home is big, the decor and rooms are a bit dated and look tired. The residents are free to wander around, even
in and out of each other's rooms. Some residents are bed-bound. People often pick up things and wander. There was not enough staff circulating corridors and checking rooms. When I visited mum in her room, other residents would come in, rarely saw carers in the corridors unless you called them. This home specialises in dementia yet when mum developed a urine infection causing a behavior change of agitation and aggression, she ended up falling one night unsupervised, taken to hospital bleeding from the head, which actually caused a small bleed to the brain. Within days the home said they could not take mum back as couldn’t care for her needs. Four weeks later mum is still in hospital with no alternative.

With regards to staffing levels, I would like to assure you that we do a full dependency analysis for each resident which is used to plan the care team, in order to ensure that care is safe and appropriate for residents’ needs at all times. We do continually reassess resident’s needs, and it is regrettable that due to the change in your mother’s care needs and her requiring a higher level of one-to-one support, we were no longer able to care for her at Kingsleigh. We do appreciate your feedback and we are sorry that your expectations have not been met on this occasion.

Fantastic staff who have provided so much extra care and support through the COVID pandemic. I trust them to take care of my mum as best they can. I just wish the staff ratio was higher not just at Kingsleigh but with all elderly care home facilities. My only real complaint is my mum does not have her
own toilet as there is a toilet opposite her room. I find it so undignified for her to have to share it.

Job Title: Home Manager

I started my career as a care assistant and moved my way up the ranks. I joined Care UK in 2006 and was the deputy manager at Broadwater Lodge, another Care UK home, for seven years before moving to Kingsleigh.


I would describe myself as a people person with a passion for helping others. One of my favourite parts of the day is when everyone stops for ‘tea at 3’. It’s a chance to catch our breath after the busiest part of the day, and it gives us the opportunity to have some quality conversation time with residents.


I’ve been supported by other home managers to progress in my career, and I believe in doing the same now I’m at that level. Being able to help and develop colleagues is a great feeling, as is empowering them to make a difference in residents’ lives.
