The staff at The Pantiles cared for my mum so well during her 4 month stay there. The home is very well led and the manager goes above and beyond to help in any way she can. The staff are all friendly and kind and they treated my mum with dignity and respect. I would highly recommend this home.

My mother spent four to five years cared for at The Pantiles where she was well looked after. I visited very often, daily as she declined. The staff and the manager were kind, caring and thoughtful. I had every confidence that Mum would not have better care anywhere else. Mum was able to die there,
not being sent off to hospital to die. I was and am very grateful for that. At 78 I am working towards booking in there myself when the time comes, as long as the current manager is still in charge. She is an excellent manager; efficient and kind.

Thank you for your review. Your Mum had an infectious giggle that brightened everyone's day. I am glad we were able for her to remain in the home for her final journey.

My mother received wonderful care at Pantiles. The manager there is just excellent and all the staff so caring and well trained. My mother always said how well cared for she was, and she just loved the food and her lovely room. I always felt she was in excellent hands there.

The care my father receives could not be better. The staff are brilliant and when I visit him you can tell that he is well looked after. The home is managed by an experienced manager, she really sets a positive tone in the home and is a true leader. The patience that the staff have is incredible and
to know that your 'loved one' is being so well looked after means that I personally have never had to worry about my father. He has always interacted well with the staff. It is great to see the banter between the staff and the residents and I think that this has a lot to do with the size of the home. The staff truly get to know their residents and really care about them. My father has on a couple of occasions been pretty ill but due to the overall care he has received and he has survived on both occasions which has inevitably given me longer with him than I otherwise would have had. I also want to mention one member of staff in particular who has developed a special bond with my father which is great to see.

My Dad had a very positive stay at The Pantiles. During his six-week stay, he was treated with kindness and care. He could not praise the staff enough. His room was clean, bright, comfortable and spacious. Management is excellent. Visiting the home was easy for friends and relatives, which dispelled
any feelings of isolation. We would recommend this home.

My mum spent 8 months in the Pantiles before she sadly passed away. From the first day my mum arrived, I knew this was the perfect place for her to live out her life. The manager goes way above and beyond to make sure everything is as homely as possible and nothing is too much trouble. The care is first
class and every one of the staff was fantastic. My mum was not always the easiest to deal with but they knew exactly how to calm her down and keep her happy. I wouldn't think twice to recommend The Pantiles to any of my family or friends.

My friend's father spent just over 4 weeks at The Pantiles Care Home for some respite care. I have spent a lot of time in many care homes over the past 25 years and I can honestly say The Pantiles Care Home is one of the best I’ve been in. The manager is superb and goes above and beyond to ensure each
resident is as happy and comfortable as possible, the team are all so welcoming, caring and friendly too. The activity girl is one of the most enthusiastic I’ve come across and I’m reliably told the food is good too. The team are all regular staff rather than agency staff so the continuity of care is outstanding. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Pantiles Care Home to anyone looking for a care home.

My mother has now been resident at The Pantiles for over a year. She is happy at The Pantiles.
The most important element of any residential setting is the staff team. The staff team are led outstandingly by their manager who has a huge breath of experience. As a frequent visitor, I have observed the
caring staff team go the extra mile on many occasions. My mum is treated with thoughtfulness, understanding and with dignity. The staff’s gentle humour with the residents goes a long way. I don’t think you would be able to get any better care.

The Pantiles Care Home provides our mother with a wonderful setting in which to enjoy the remaining chapter of her life.
Mum has been living here for approximately sixteen months and is elderly with progressive dementia.
She moved into a brand new ground floor room conversion with an ensuite toilet
and sink. The bay windows aspect gives a lovely view of the front garden and provides a lot of clear daylight.
The manager runs the home with a real passion and commitment and supports her very caring staff in providing an amazing level of care and compassion to mum and all the residents, however challenging their behaviours become.
My sister and I visit regularly and are always made to feel very welcome and kept up to date with any personal developments regarding mum.

The manager has created something very unique here and should be applauded for her extreme dedication in carrying out her duties. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending The Pantiles Care Home.

I have visited Pantiles on several occasions, each time I was impressed with my greeting from very friendly approachable staff. The residents always appeared very happy in the lovely clean, fresh smelling homely surroundings.

Wonderful to see the homes pet in the reception area. I have noted residents

talking to the parrot and enjoying the quirkiness of such a beautiful bird.

I have had 27 years experience in many forms, meeting home managers and working with them. The manager is the most dedicated hard-working home manager I have ever met, I cannot recommend Pantiles highly enough.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.300)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.300) out of 10 for The Pantiles Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.800 for The Pantiles Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (50 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.8

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Pantiles Care Home is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 16 registered maximum number of service users is 3.2, which has been reached with 5 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
