We are available at any time to discuss and any ideas or suggestions are welcome. The team would all agree that we want to be the best at our job and that depends very much on the experience of our residents and their relatives and friends!

The Review Score of 7.9 (7.917) out of 10 for Jackman's Lodge Residential Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.
a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.
b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.2 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.
The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:
a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.
The Average Rating of 4.750 for Jackman's Lodge Residential Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (9 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 4.75
b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').
The 3.167 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Jackman's Lodge Residential Care Home is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:
The 5 points available are broken down as follows:
i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3
ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 6 = 0.167
When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Area Manager
Joined: 2017
I have worked in Health & Social care for 37 years
I have been in management for 25 years, predominately with older people
I hold a certificate in management & a degree in Business
I have worked at Jackman’s Lodge for 3 years
I am passionate about care and how we empower the people we look after. I feel particularly strongly about promoting independence and individuality. I see it as an incredibly important aspect of my role to give people a voice and support them to live life the way they choose to, not necessarily the way other people think they should!
Job Title: Administrator
Joined: 2017
I have over 20 years experience in an Administration role
I decided to look for a position in a Care Home setting after spending several years looking after my wonderful father. During this time, I learnt a lot about the effects of dementia, . not only on the individual but on the entire network of family and friends. I undertook several courses and read up everything I could, in order to understand this terrible illness. I came to realise that it was far more complex than most people realised and also that there was, at that point, a terrible stigma attached to it.
I wanted to work in an environment where I could use my administrative skills as well as to be able to help and encourage the residents to live their lives to the fullest and to get the most out of every day. My desk is in the main hall at Jackman's Lodge and so all the residents know me, I even have a few who keep me company and help me with the filing!! Working in a care home is very rewarding, I certainly haven't looked back.
Job Title: Health Care Assistant
Joined: 2017
I love my job and to me the most important thing is to make people happy. I see it as my most important role, that the people in my care are comfortable and that I can be the one assisting them on a daily basis. I know the residents at Jackman's Lodge very well and they know I am a bit of a clown!
Karen, the manager, keeps getting some ridiculous costumes for me to wear every week. So far I have been a pirate, a banana, a cowboy on a horse, a Mexican...The residents are delighted and it makes me happy to see them smile.
Job Title: Senior Health Care Assistant
Joined: 2018
I have 8 years experience in care and I have worked at Jackman's Lodge for nearly 3 years.
I have a Health and Social care Diploma level 3 and 5 and I am very proud to have collaborated on getting the Gold Standard Framework accreditation which recognises patients with life limiting conditions, helping them to plan ahead to live as well as possible right to the end.
As a Senior, I am able to give out medication but I also do everything else, from personal care to tucking someone in bed with a cuppa. I see my job as giving the best possible care whilst enjoying getting to know people's life stories. I am also experienced in dementia care.
Job Title: Wellbeing and Activities coordinator
Joined: 2020
I started to work as Wellbeing & Activities coordinator at Jackman's Lodge in September 2020. The Covid 19 situation changed my life as originally I was working in the corporate sector as Human Resources Generalist for eighteen years.
As Wellbeing & Activities Coordinator I plan weekly activities for our residents based on their interests and capabilities.
I always intake their opinions on each activity and based of those I adjust the activities. I look forward to work each day because the day is never the same.
My clients are like planets. Each has a unique personality and individual needs and I am like the Little Prince visiting those planets every day.
Job Title: Maintenance Manager

I have 7 years of maintenance experience, Level 1 and 2 Heating and Plumbing
I am really proud to be in charge of the maintenance team. I enjoy the variety that the care environment brings and I enjoy being around people. it is good to wake up in the morning knowing that you contribute to making the home safe and comfortable for vulnerable people. they all have lots to talk about as well so it is never lonely!
