A passionate and dedicated team ensures that all residents’ individual needs and requirements are met, especially with staying active, making new friends, nurturing interests, learning new skills and pursuing favourite hobbies. The Wellbeing and Lifestyle Team arranges exciting on-site events and activities and regular trips out to local destinations so there is always something to do.

My father moved in at the end of May 22 - the moving-in process was conducted efficiently by Signature, and the flat was in very good condition upon moving in. The standard of accommodation would be hard to beat, and the staff very proactive and friendly. There are plenty of activities if a resident
wishes to participate. The building itself is in very good condition and always kept spotlessly clean. The advantage of Banstead is that it's possible to walk to the high street, which for my father has been very advantageous. I would be hard-pressed to think of what else the community could offer.

My mother-in-law required respite care after a fall. Having broken vertebrae and shoulder meant mobility was an issue. Right from the start, we were confident that the nursing/handling provided was of a high standard. The complication of early-stage dementia and trauma from recently losing her husband
meant that my mother-in-law has fluctuating issues, sometimes being confused and distressed and other times appearing to be as we remember her. All this was handled in a no-fuss way that put my mother-in-law and us at ease. Thank you so much for your kindness and care, which was excellent.

Both my parents recently moved into Signature at Banstead - and the team have been always been helpful in answering any Q's we have had, and have always tried to do "that little bit extra" which is greatly appreciated.
Once they moved in the care provided that I have seen is always cheerfully done,
with a willingness to undertake anything more needed.
Mum had a birthday recently - and she had a card, birthday cake, and balloons all laid on by the team - again just little things that make it more pleasant.

My cousin has come to Signature at Banstead after a rather difficult time in hospital because of staff shortages and the Covid-19 restrictions. Now, after three months, she is at last beginning to settle into her chosen change of lifestyle. The home is superb and my cousin is now realising the benefits
of being well cared for with the responsibilities of day to day living having been taken over by everyone in the team which you aptly call the community. As she now begins to feel more settled, I'm sure she will appreciate and be more grateful for this newfound warmth and security that was so lacking when living in her own home alone whilst trying to cope with extremely poor mobility.

My father is at the crossover between independent living on his own and assisted living and has been looking at his options. He has, therefore, been on a respite break at Signature at Banstead, which he has now extended to cover the Xmas period. The management and staff have been excellent in helping
him to adjust to the care home environment, and he very much likes the staff and companionship at the home. He is now considering whether it would be better for him to move there permanently and give up living on his own in his own home. For someone who has been used to being independent, it would mark a significant change, like he's giving up driving, and so he is giving it careful thought.

My mother has been in Sunrise for nearly 4-years and has always been treated very well by all the staff and her care, especially by her carers that help her daily, could not have been better. I would advise any potential family to consider, not only the welfare of the family member but also the needs
of the family as a whole. I know if Mum had continued to live alone, I would not have been able to continue with my life in the same way as the worry that I had would have got worse daily and our good relationship would have suffered. Sunrise has given Mum respect but also care that I am not able to give.
She has the opportunity to join in with lots of activities, which she is encouraged to do, and most definitely has a more enriched day for this.

Everyone very friendly, helpful and made you feel comfortable.
Meals on time, but very small portions, but I was on respite care after surgery, so I had no appetite anyway. The fridge in my room was great as I had to use ice packs every day.

With Covid restrictions and regulations in place, I was unable to enter the home to visit my mother, and therefore, feel unable to give a true account. I appreciate that the staff were working under considerable pressure and difficulties at that time and did their best to care for their patients.

My father has been living in Reminiscence having transferred from Assisted living. The staff are caring and kind and will attend to any issues that occur as soon as they are able. I was concerned about the transition but my father seems fairly contented and he always looks smart and well cared for.

My mother has been a resident for almost a month. She arrived at a very difficult time with Covid and had to isolate completely for a week in her room. Despite this, she was made to feel welcome and settled in within a week.
While the excellent facilities play an important role, the most important
thing is the quality and kindness of staff and teamwork. There appears to be such a happy atmosphere both between staff members and in their interactions with their residents.
To know your mother is being looked after with perfect kindness and professionalism in excellent surroundings is all one is after and Sunrise Banstead provides just that.
On some of the ratings (including care/support, treated with dignity, staff, management) the 'Excellent' score should be read as 'Absolutely outstanding'.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Sunrise of Banstead. All the staff from management to cleaners are friendly, professional and caring. All residents are treated with dignity and love. I had huge reservations about Mum going into assisted living, becoming an object in a chair staring at the
TV. This couldn’t be further from reality. Their activities schedule is better than mine! So much care and thought is put into their daily lives, with external entertainers and an internal activities team who work tirelessly (like all staff) to keep all the residents entertained and engaged. The home is more like a hotel, with a bright and uplifting atmosphere with decor that I’d happily have in my own home! The gardens are beautiful and well looked after for residents to enjoy safely. From an admin point of view, communication is excellent and any concerns instantly addressed. It’s expensive but my mind is at rest knowing that Mum’s happy and being well looked after.

The care and kindness shown to my Mum throughout her time at Sunrise has been fantastic. Like many people of her age, she can be difficult, but the Sunrise staff are fantastically patient and positive. The food is good and the entertainment programme is varied and fun as could possibly be hoped for.
We (the family) are so happy to know that Mum is safe and well cared for. Living all over the world it is a reassurance that is very important to us. Overall we consider ourselves very lucky to have found Sunrise Banstead.

Mum joined the community in December 2019. We moved mum away from her home in Devon to Surrey to be closer to family in London. Mum was anxious and lonely, but the whole team made mum very welcome. There isn't 1 particular member of staff that has gone above and beyond, all the staff are fantastic,
warm, welcoming and extremely helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. 5star ***** service!

Booking a respite stay in the Sunrise Banstead was relatively easy, but the occupation dates and related fees could be clearer to allow for inexperienced clients' comprehension.
The building and rooms were excellent, with a good calm atmosphere. All the staff were attentive and well-identified as a
caring team.
My wife being a respite resident over the Christmas time, was able to enjoy festive food and a variety of activities and entertainment.

My mother requested to go into a care home at the beginning of December 2019. Fortunately, there was a suite available and she moved in just before Christmas. Her medication had just been changed prior to admission and there were complications with her health and medication subsequently. Subsequent
care problems were largely due to changing NHS doctors and delays over the Christmas period in getting a prescription.

My aunt spent a lovely two-week respite break at Sunrise in Banstead. The welcome was lovely with home-baked scones, and the room ready on arrival.
My aunt was confused as she has Alzheimer’s but everyone made her stay easy and she was very happy the whole time. She was able to join in many activities.
The food was great and memorable for my aunt.
Thanks to all the staff for their care.
When my aunt is ready for full-time care I wouldn’t hesitate to come to Sunrise Banstead.

I started my career in social care in 2009 and since then, I have worked in a variety of different areas such as Learning Disability, Mental Health, Dementia and predominantly Residential Care. I have experience of being a Registered Manager for four residential care homes, each one slightly bigger than the last. Those 14 years of care experience have led me to be successful recently in joining initially as Deputy Manager and then as General Manager from November 2023. I have been particularly keen on working in a home that looks and feels like a five-star hotel! Ultimately, I want to be part of a team that goes above and beyond and is collaboratively working towards being CQC-rated Outstanding.

Job Title: Deputy Manager

I first joined Signature in 2013 as a Care Assistant, was promoted to the role of Reminiscence Coordinator, then to the Dementia Care Manager role, and since November 2023, I have taken on the role of Deputy Manager at Signature at Banstead. Every day, we provide purposeful and meaningful activities to enhance mental and physical stimulation for our residents. Having worked in such a wonderful community is incredibly fulfilling, as I witness the daily smiles on our residents’ faces. Now leading the broader team, my overall responsibility is to ensure that the home is run to the highest of standards, ensuring excellent delivery in all aspects of care. I offer support to the General Manager in all clinical matters and step in when the General Manager is absent. The stability and continuity of the management team have allowed my career to excel and take on my newest adventures. I very much look forward to my future within this role here at Banstead.

After a 27-year career in financial services, I moved into the care sector in 2013 – it was the best move I ever made. Having previously worked at Signature at Banstead for four years, I rejoined the home after a three-year break at the beginning of October 2022. Having previously been in the position of looking after the care needs of both parents, I know first-hand the uncertainty and concerns that families face. I am absolutely delighted to be back as my job allows me to see the difference it makes to people's lives, moving into a home as vibrant as Signature at Banstead. I often say to families that when their loved one moves into a care home, it is like picking up a new book and starting a new chapter. I get a sense of fulfilment and satisfaction unlike anything else I’ve experienced in my career. As soon as you walk through the doors here, you can feel the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The whole team are exceptionally kind and caring. My role is primarily to support and guide anyone looking at care options, either for themselves or a loved one. I will be your first point of contact within the home and will be there right up to move-in day and beyond if you need further help thereafter. I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our beautiful home.

My journey started in 2015 when I joined as a Care Assistant at Signature. As a first experience of working with people, I found that helping people living with dementia was my passion and I haven't looked back. My role progressed from Care Assistant to Senior Carer, Care Supervisor and then to Dementia Care Manager. In this role, I manage both of our dementia communities called Lavender Lane and Bluebells. I oversee the operations, people and clinical aspects of the communities, ensuring the utmost standard of care, support, compassion and understanding of the residents. I started my journey in Health and Social Care in 2012 and I have never looked back. I joined the Signature at Banstead family in February 2023 as an Assisted Living Coordinator. I was fascinated to work for Signature at Banstead because of their commitment to delivering excellent care to the elderly, guaranteeing the home is safe, exciting, committed and active. Prior to this, I worked as a Supported Living Manager and a Residential Care Manager in London and Kent. My experience over the years can allow me to help our Assisted Living community manage and care for a wide variety of individuals. I am passionate about delivering a service that is safe, effective and person-centred, driven by the needs and aspirations of the people we serve at Signature at Banstead. I’m dedicated to providing our residents with the best care and support that they need to recover and maintain their health and independence. My primary aim within my role is to create a people-centred team that delivers a positive colleague output to ensure that the people we support are receiving the best possible experience, ensuring they continue to lead happy and purposeful lives. I maintain a keen interest in supporting my team to deliver high-quality care holistically, with our residents at the centre of all we do.

Tamara Juckes

Job Title: Hospitality Manager

Joined: 2007

I started working as a Care Manager at Signature at Banstead in 2007 and became the Activities Coordinator in 2009, a role that I held until 2024, and a role that I loved. My background in the dance and entertainment industry gave me all the tools I needed to deliver a first-class program to our residents. Over the years I have been fortunate to win a number of national awards and most recently was Highly Commended at the 2022 Great British Care Awards (South East Region). My job has evolved over the years and I am proud to be a Dementia Practitioner Trainer and Dementia Ambassador.


There are very few jobs that offer the daily satisfaction and fulfilment that working in care does. Seeing the expression on residents’ faces and hearing the enjoyment in their voices as they take part in our daily activities makes me feel immensely proud and content. I wouldn’t swap it for anything!


I have recently decided to take on a new challenge, heading up the entire Hospitality function at Banstead, an opportunity that I am incredibly excited by. The role will mean that I oversee the food and beverage, front of house, as well as activities – I can’t wait to make a difference.

Alison Nicholson

Job Title: Head Housekeeper

I started working at Signature at Banstead many years ago now, and have never looked back. I started off as a housekeeper and was promoted to Head of Housekeeping so now I manage both the Housekeeping Team and the Reception Team. I am very passionate about my job and take great pride. I have a very good team that works very hard beside me to deliver excellent service. I also mentor housekeepers at other Signature homes which I love doing so that they too can thrive and also deliver the high standards of cleanliness expected across our company's portfolio.
