My father was very happy in Sunrise for 18 months until his death this month. The carers are all so kind, patient and attentive. The home is tastefully designed to look like a hotel, the gardens are beautifully maintained. Special thanks to the staff and the minibus driver who takes residents on outings.

My family and I were extremely impressed with the engaging and professional approach taken by the whole team at Sunrise of Esher. Nothing was too much trouble and on all our visits we were made to feel extremely welcome and always offered hospitality. During the difficult times, empathy and understanding
were very evident.

My mother went to stay at Sunrise of Esher for respite care following a fall. Her recovery was not without problems but the team at Sunrise did all that they could to help mother improve. In fact, I would say they played a major part in helping her get back on her feet, reaching a point where she seemed
better than she had for many months. Unfortunately, she then contracted pneumonia from which she never recovered. It was then we saw the benefit of the relationship mother enjoyed with the team at her "hotel" (her words). Given that this was a residential and not nursing home, I had expected to be asked to move mother to a hospital. That wasn't the case and was really surprised and grateful to all the care team for the way they cared for my mother until her passing.

We appreciate the high standard of care given to my mum. However, we feel that there is a lack of communication at times. We are not always informed of Mum's condition and have been waiting for a meeting on her welfare for some months.

Every member of staff is really rather wonderful - they are all warm, helpful and very approachable. It is thanks to this fantastic team that my mother has settled well as she was extremely apprehensive about making the transition from her own home to a care home. The accommodation and all communal
areas are head and shoulders above other care homes. The activities and entertainment are varied and well planned and every effort is made to accommodate all tastes and interests. I have every confidence and gain comfort from knowing that my mother is being cared for to the highest standard.

Mum has been here for four years. She often says how glad she feels that we found it for her. The staff are kind and respectful to her and generally care and keep her family up to date. She had a pleasant room which is well looked after and kept very clean. The food is good, varied and imaginative.
We have had two minor health emergencies and I have seen how very quick and efficient the carers are to provide expert assistance.

Sunrise is a friendly and cosy home for the residents with plenty of things available to keep them occupied. Such as visitor talks, entertainers and excursions.


The apartments are comfortable and well appointed.
Comforting for the family to see their loved ones well looked after.

I have been a resident here for several years now and have been involved with many of its activities. Indeed, I wish we had more opportunities to visit other locations. These included National Trust properties
My experience of Sunrise has been satisfactory although I have concerns about the management
which have been rectified except we have not yet had an excellent activities manager.

Following an operation on my back nearly 10 years ago, I could not return home and was sent to a home locally in Surbiton. After 2 and a half years the home closed and I moved to another in Kingston. This was inconvenient for my daughter who found Sunrise, which was much easier for her.
Obviously,
I would prefer to be in my own home, but I am perfectly comfortable here.

I think there are some great things about Sunrise. The staff seem to genuinely care and there are lots of activities. However, attention to detail for my friend is sporadic. She often forgets to wear her hearing aids and the staff repeatedly forget to remind her. I also take her for dinner and on occasion,
despite me calling to remind them, they have forgotten and she ate a meal (as it's so early) when we had booked dinner. Otherwise, they are very good.

The staff are very committed and overall, the care is satisfactory. My mother is a dementia resident, so sometimes there are communication difficulties with the staff talking through her care with me. I find the fees far too expensive.

Sunrise works extremely well for my mother. She has her own suite in which she has her own furniture which reminds her of earlier times in her life. The home does not smell (unlike most other we visited) and operates more like a long-term hotel.
It is excellent!

A warm and caring home where residents are treated with dignity. Lots of activities and outings with an afternoon "social" every day. A lovely dining room which is like a hotel restaurant and I'm informed by my mum that the food is very good. My mother has blossomed since moving in with renewed interest
in life. For someone who's 95 that is very special for them.

Joined: 2013

I joined here as a Senior Care Assistant in 2013, progressed to Reminiscence Coordinator, managed the Assisted Living Department, and now I am overseeing both departments as a Deputy Manager since September 2019. I also supported the General Manager with Clinical Requirements and the Activities Coordinator with our Activities Programme. In August 2023 I was promoted to General Manager position.


I have been given the opportunity to develop my skills, learn and progress. I am a qualified physiotherapist with a hospital and private sector background. I hold Diploma Level 5 in Health and Social Care. I am passionate about care and dedicated to providing a high-quality service tailored to each person's individual needs. I am proud to be part of the Esher Team.

I joined Signature at Esher as a Senior Care Assistant Wellbeing in February 2019, I was then promoted to Dementia Care Manager in November 2019. I have been working in the care sector since 2003 and I was originally a nurse in my home country. I have managed two Residential Care Homes previously and I hold Level 4 in Health and Social Care. I enjoy working with elderly people, especially with dementia and the smile on their faces gives me a sense of achievement. I joined in September 2010 as a Senior Care Assistant in the Reminiscence Neighbourhood. I progressed to be the Business Office Coordinator in January 2012. In March 2019, I was promoted to the Assisted Living Coordinator Role. I oversee the care and well-being of the residents in the Assisted Living Neighbourhood.


I hold a Master's in Hospital Administration, Business Administration, Human Resource Management and Level 4 in Health and Social Care. This is like my second home and the residents and staff are like my family. I have been very passionate about care and the caring sector since childhood and take after my mother who was a Nursing Supervisor and Head Nurse in Hospital Industry.

Hi, I'm Joanna. I joined Esher Manor in February 2019 and can honestly say I have never looked back. Every day is a different day, and I have the privilege of helping families choose the right care home for their loved ones.


From the point that a family makes an enquiry to Esher Manor, I will be able to help with any questions whether it be for short-term respites or permanent care.

I'm a passionate cook with an eye for detail who has worked in the care sector since 2011, where I gained my knowledge, experience and qualifications.‘PASSION’ was always my top core value.


Cooking is an ‘ART’. As in art, you mix colours and a beautiful picture manifest so in cooking, you have to be creative, full of passion, and imaginative and your meals will be like a piece of art beautifully presented on the plate.

Starting out in the kitchen, I have been fortunate to build my career from kitchen Commis Chef to General Manager within four and five-star hotels in both the private and branded sectors.


Along the way I have been able to travel extensively both in the UK and Internationally, working alongside many creative individuals, teams and cultures. My journey has also included hotel openings, rebranding, concept development and major renovations.


I am now excited to take my next career step into the healthcare sector, something I have been considering since closing down Hendon Hall as a hotel and prior to handing over to Signature at the beginning of 2019, and know my passion for people, food and service will transition smoothly across from hotels.


I am looking forward to learning new skills, getting to know all the residents and their families, as well as supporting and working with, the very experienced and caring team here at Esher.
