When it became obvious that my mother could no longer look after herself, my wife looked for an assisted living home close by.
She found Sunrise of Esher, so we went to visit.
We were given a tour and we felt mum would be happy to have a suite.
We took her along to see for herself and she was
happy to move in.
We found that the care she received was exemplary. The fifty or so residents have a high number of excellent carers to always be there to help. Mums rooms were on the ground floor, so no steps to trip her.
Dining was social and food excellent.
Is it expensive? yes. Is it value for money? absolutely.
Mum spent the last years of her life in the best possible place.

My friend has been a resident of Sunrise of Esher for 4years. She celebrated her 100th birthday in 2016 and the home put on a very special birthday celebration for her.
Her room is cleaned regularly and the carers look after her well. She tells me that the food is excellent, she enjoys the trips out
and the entertainment, this recently seems to be less frequent.

I selected Sunrise of Esher on the basis of personal recommendation for my relative who was suffering a decline in health and was practically immobile. Sunrise of Esher made a careful appraisal to establish the level of care required. My relative improved noticably under their care until her illness
accelerated. She has enjoyed the social contact and activities, especially the outings I cannot fault the care given to my relative, especially in her final days. Sunrise of Esher worked in close collaboration with the hospital to make my relative comfortable. The home is clean and spacious. The staff are exemplary.

As soon as I entered Sunrise of Esher I felt comfortable and at home. Both the staff and the residents were friendly and happy to in any way.
I found it easy to settle in and after only a month I feel sure that Sunrise of Esher will be my home for the rest of my days. I particularly like the care taken
to provide both physical and mental exercise for those who wish to partake in it. Companionship when needed but equally quiet places when required.

My father was well looked after during the time spent there while his full-time carer had a holiday. The staff were very friendly and attentive and he was encouraged to join in the activities and enjoyed them. I was also given good support from all the staff and found them very friendly and helpful.
There was a lovely atmosphere and everyone was happy.

My Mum needed to go into a care home to convalesce after major surgery. We visited several care homes within the area and Sunrise was definitely by far the best that we saw, the administration staff were fantastic and made the whole process so much easier. Mum had a really enjoyable stay, all the staff
were so friendly and the food was fantastic. By the end of the two months, it felt like home and she was quite sad to leave.

The staff make every effort to get my mother-in-law involved in the activities and to introduce her to other residents at meal times etc. Unfortunately she was not well for much of her stay but they catered for her limited appetite very well at meal times.
The management kept the family informed during
her final days and the staff were extremely attentive, even at night.

Joined: 2013

I joined here as a Senior Care Assistant in 2013, progressed to Reminiscence Coordinator, managed the Assisted Living Department, and now I am overseeing both departments as a Deputy Manager since September 2019. I also supported the General Manager with Clinical Requirements and the Activities Coordinator with our Activities Programme. In August 2023 I was promoted to General Manager position.


I have been given the opportunity to develop my skills, learn and progress. I am a qualified physiotherapist with a hospital and private sector background. I hold Diploma Level 5 in Health and Social Care. I am passionate about care and dedicated to providing a high-quality service tailored to each person's individual needs. I am proud to be part of the Esher Team.

I joined Signature at Esher as a Senior Care Assistant Wellbeing in February 2019, I was then promoted to Dementia Care Manager in November 2019. I have been working in the care sector since 2003 and I was originally a nurse in my home country. I have managed two Residential Care Homes previously and I hold Level 4 in Health and Social Care. I enjoy working with elderly people, especially with dementia and the smile on their faces gives me a sense of achievement. My priority is to have a good relationship with residents, their families and staff to ensure that they feel welcome and at home.

Cooking is an ‘ART’. As in art, you mix colours and a beautiful picture manifest so in cooking, you have to be creative, full of passion, and imaginative and your meals will be like a piece of art beautifully presented on the plate.

Starting out in the kitchen, I have been fortunate to build my career from kitchen Commis Chef to General Manager within four and five-star hotels in both the private and branded sectors.


Along the way I have been able to travel extensively both in the UK and Internationally, working alongside many creative individuals, teams and cultures. My journey has also included hotel openings, rebranding, concept development and major renovations.


I am now excited to take my next career step into the healthcare sector, something I have been considering since closing down Hendon Hall as a hotel and prior to handing over to Signature at the beginning of 2019, and know my passion for people, food and service will transition smoothly across from hotels.


I am looking forward to learning new skills, getting to know all the residents and their families, as well as supporting and working with, the very experienced and caring team here at Esher.
