Anchor’s Thameside in West Molesey is a purpose-built care home, providing quality care and facilities within a comfortable and relaxing environment. Within the home, there is a library, a hairdressing salon and a shop for sundries.

They continue to welcome new residents to Thameside for both respite care and for permanent care.

The home provides residential care which is personally tailored to meet the individual needs of customers and enhances their quality of life. Individual care needs are met by creating personal care plans for each customer in conjunction with their families and care team.

Staff are trained in dementia care and receive ongoing training to ensure their knowledge of best practice is always up-to-date.

Thameside is run by the Anchor. Anchor is England’s largest provider of housing and care for those over 55 years of age and has more than 60 years of experience as a not-for-profit provider of services to older people.

Very clean and professional. The TV aerial signal reception in room 25 needs a booster. Grass needs cutting at the West Mosely site. Residents kept saying it was too long to sit outside with guests. Requires a new gardener. Otherwise, great.

The Thameside team cared for my father with Alzheimer's and my mother with Parkinson's during the last four years or so. They did an outstanding job, providing professional and kind care for my parents. Communication was excellent and the team are very helpful and understanding. The home is kept in
an immaculate state and is always a welcoming place. Thank you all again for everything you have done to make things better for my parents and the rest of our family!

My mother-in-law has dementia and before going to Thameside was very thin, unkempt and unsafe to live alone. The staff at Thameside are caring and thoughtful and provide an environment in which she feels safe, happy and well looked after.

From the moment my mother-in-law got her place at Thameside, her care there has been outstanding. The staff always go above and beyond in all areas. Medically they spot even the tiniest worry and act upon it and keep us in the loop. The food is great and the cleanliness is excellent all over the care
home. Thank you, Thameside for making a very stressful time so much better.

Since moving to Thameside, my mum has been more settled and is much happier in herself. The team are brilliant, nothing is too much trouble and they are always friendly and welcoming. It is a relief to know my mum is being well looked after and is being treated with respect and care.

My 95-year-old father had lived completely independently until he had a fall in March 2021. He had been moved between two hospitals and a care home which was not adequate for his needs. He had declined quickly in health and motivation and we feared we had lost our lovely positive, smiley dad. After
a long and drawn-out process, we finally found Thameside Care Home. Although it took him a while to settle in, he is now extremely settled and very happy. Dad has had a couple of short stays in Kingston hospital and the staff have always kept us updated on his progress and welcomed him back 'home' with a friendly, familiar face. We cannot fault the care he has received from the very first day he moved in. Although we are unable to see his room or view any of the facilities he is experiencing, due to covid restrictions, we are confident that he is very happy, secure and safe and that makes us, as a family, feel extremely thankful.

Thameside is a very caring care home. The staff are always very friendly and willing to assist whenever the need arises. During the pandemic, the staff have been very supportive and have all been a real 'team working together at this time'. My husband is looked after well and has the support that is

I would like to recognise all the staff at Thameside for being simply "amazing". It starts with good management and filters down to an extremely happy and motivated team. They have become my mym's family this last year, and we can tell how happy she is. More than ever during these difficult times, you
have surpassed my expectations. You can all be extremely proud of what you have achieved without help from external entertainers and hairdressers etc. Mum loves to see us on the video calls, and she always looks so lovely and tells us about the fun she has and how kind everyone is. You really are the best carers I could have hoped for, and I never worry about her.

We transferred Mum to Thameside very shortly before the lockdown. She died (not of COVID-19) after only 15 weeks, so we were only able to visit her at the end. We know with certainty that Mum was happier than she had been for probably years. We know that because the staff communicated so well with us.
Advanced dementia meant Mum could not manage calls. The staff tried several alternatives, and if we sent letters and photos, soon a photo of Mum arrived, looking at them contentedly with a carer and we had lots of other photos and contact. Mum had in the past been uncooperative over personal care but we told the staff, and quite soon it was no longer a daily struggle. As we sat with Mum on her last day, we saw how tenderly the staff cared for her as she slipped peacefully away. They were so kind to us too. After experience of contrasting homes, we are sure the differences stem from outstanding leaders. They are able to understand the concerns of everyone and they are open and caring.

I cannot praise Thameside enough. My mother was a resident here for 9-months before passing away in January 2020. She was always treated with dignity and respect, especially during the last days of her life.
Wonderful, wonderful staff.
