Anchor’s Thameside in West Molesey is a purpose-built care home, providing quality care and facilities within a comfortable and relaxing environment. Within the home, there is a library, a hairdressing salon and a shop for sundries.

They continue to welcome new residents to Thameside for both respite care and for permanent care.

The home provides residential care which is personally tailored to meet the individual needs of customers and enhances their quality of life. Individual care needs are met by creating personal care plans for each customer in conjunction with their families and care team.

Staff are trained in dementia care and receive ongoing training to ensure their knowledge of best practice is always up-to-date.

Thameside is run by the Anchor. Anchor is England’s largest provider of housing and care for those over 55 years of age and has more than 60 years of experience as a not-for-profit provider of services to older people.

This home is a credit to the management and staff from the manager to the cleaner nothing is too much trouble. The care and compassion shown by the staff are exceptional. The meals are tasty and nutritious and varied.

My dad has had the most wonderful care during his weeks respite stay. "Everyone is so kind, they can't do enough for you" these were his words. The food was great, lots of entertainment and things to do. Very kind staff at all times, day and night. As visitors, we were made so welcome. Lots of smiles,
tea and biscuits.

First impressions are important and I am pleased to say that when coming to the care home it is always spotlessly clean, tidy and warm. The reception staff are excellent and like everyone employed prepared to answer any questions and give advice.

The home has just been refurbished to a very high standard although the room where my mother is could have had a little more attention. The staff are professional, kind and efficient. Maybe at times, some areas are a little understaffed. Recently my mother reached 100 years and the home put on a wonderful
afternoon party for the residents with a singer. The only criticism is that medical follow-ups could be a little more stringent.

My mum has received very good care at Thameside. Staff are very kind and always have time to help her and talk to her. She is always clean and comfortable and has put on weight, which is what the doctor ordered.

I have visited a number of care homes and hence really appreciate the care given in this home. The staff - from the friendly, well turned out receptionists through to the carers are a delight.
I have attended three exercise classes which are excellent and even the visiting class trainer knows all the
names of the residents.
There are activities every day, live singers, visiting farmyard animals, flower arranging, even a boat trip.
These people really care for the residents, extra cups of tea, more toast, etc.
Please pass on my congratulations.

My 96-year-old mother came to Thameside in early July and has not stopped smiling! Prior to this we researched and visited the care home and we were always met with openness, enthusiasm and professionalism. From the moment she moved in, all staff made her welcome, answered her health care and social
needs and ensured they are met. All the staff have been outstanding and we know she is happy, well cared for and safe with her new Thameside family.

The regular carers are very kind and compassionate. My mother took a while to settle in but having been in Thameside for over a year now she seems happy and settled despite her dementia. It was a very difficult decision to move her from her own home but it was definitely the right one. The food is good
and all the staff are kind and friendly.

My mother stayed at Thameside for five weeks prior to a hip operation. She has dementia and can be forgetful. The staff at this care home are wonderful. They are all friendly and upbeat and give the residents quality care and attention. The home is divided into small units, with their own dining rooms
and lounges, giving a more intimate feel. There is a weekly sheet of activities like river walks, animal petting, bino and sing-alongs. My mother required some special treatment prior to her operation and this was added to her care plan and executed without any fuss. The decor is a bit tired, but I was told it is due to be redecorated in the new year.

I have found Thameside to be a wonderful care home. The staff are very kind, helpful and loving. Nothing is too much trouble, the rooms are light and airy, the food is good and there is plenty of activities. My aunt has been at 2 other home now I wished I had moved her here first. She has started to
smile and when asked if she is happy her reply is "very".

The whole atmosphere of Thameside is happy and welcoming at all times. I am confident that my husband is being well cared for. Everyone is dealt with equally regardless of their disability and the staff seem to support each other cheerfully (not always seen in other establishments). I look forward to
my visits to Thameside and would be happy to reside there myself all things being equal.

My husband has been in the care of the wonderful staff at Thameside now for 3 months. It is hard to put into words the sense of relief for myself and our 3 sons to know that he is being cared for in such a friendly and compassionate place. We visit him often, but not at set times and on no occasion
have we ever found a reason to be less than happy with what we see. Thameside is a cheerful, positive, spotless and nice smelling place with a genuine welcome to visitors and kindness and patience shown to the residents. The meals are tasty, varied and plentiful. But, overall, it is the staff that make the place such a success. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them. Thank you.

My brother has Parkinson's and had been a resident for just over 2 years.


Earlier this month, he was in hospital twice and was very, very unwell. He was discharged back to Thameside, much to our relief and greeted by banners and all the staff.


Their care immediately was perfect, we had meetings

with them about the way forward and everything has been implemented. My brother feels safe, happy and at home.
