Upalong is a small and select residential care home where nine residents are provided with twenty four hour care in a "homely" environment by experienced and attentive staff.

Each resident is encouraged to enjoy the best quality of life suited to them individually. The chef prepares a varied menu taking into account the preferences of each resident. Residents are encouraged to participate in hobbies or games. The comfort and well being of each resident is paramount.

The owner/manager maintains it is the caring that counts and this is exactly what is provided at Upalong.

I am very happy in this home, the staff are wonderful and caring.
I have a lovely room which is kept clean and tidy. The food is good quality.

Always welcomed by friendly staff at any time. Everywhere is very clean and tidy as rooms are cleaned thoroughly every day. The rooms are always lovely and warm, and my mum is content knowing her individual needs are catered for, therefore I am happy.

I would highly recommend Upalong Residential Home. The facility is always well-kept and welcoming and the staff are always professional, helpful and friendly. The carers are always prompt with assisting in daily tasks and clearly get to know the residents and visitors well.

Lovely, friendly home. We were welcomed in, asked if we would like a hot drink. All the staff were very caring. If I had to go into a home, I would choose this one, if I lived nearer. Just a lovely home.

After a bad experience in a care home for Mum, I visited many others to find the right place - I found Upalong. I am so pleased to have found this home, it is beautiful. The home is so clean, fresh and welcoming. The staff are kind-hearted, lovely, caring people. Mum is so much happier, I can really
tell she is well cared for now. She looks well and she is relaxed and content. Her room is immaculate and her belongings well looked after. The home-cooked food is excellent. Visitors are made very welcome. I can highly recommend Upalong.

My mother has been at the home since May 2019 and during this time, I have found the staff to be professional, polite, friendly and welcoming. During the current pandemic, I have felt very reassured that she is being well looked after and kept safe.

As far as I can testify during the covid-19 crisis, the care provided to my mother has been excellent. The staff are always friendly, helpful and readily available on the phone. The home has been very welcoming and my mother seems very happy there.

Our mother has been living at Upalong since May 2019. She has a lovely comfy room with her own bathroom and the care she receives is excellent. She has wonderful, homecooked food and there is an open door policy to visiting, pre-lockdown. Our mother feels safe and secure. The staff are very approachable,
friendly, competent and keep us informed. I can only say that we are extremely grateful that we found Upalong and feel very happy that she is looked after so well.

Upalong is a very caring and homely place. I am so pleased my brother and I found this home for our mother. The staff are delightful and their patience, dedication and care is immeasurable. Although it is a difficult time and I am unable to visit, I am confident my mother is very well looked after.

Upalong is the most lovely, homely, caring place imaginable. After a terrible experience at another facility, my mother had become very sad and was in terrible physical shape. Within a matter of days, Upalong's endlessly patient and kind staff helped her to find her smile again and I shall always be
indebted to them for that.
She's not just happier now - the care she has received has improved her physical state enormously. The fabulous, home-cooked food probably has played a good part in elevating Mum's spirits. I call her every day to ask the menu so that I can enjoy it myself vicariously. Visiting at weekends, it's a pleasure simply to inhale, though the staff invariably ply family members with tea, biscuits and the occasional sandwich so we aren't entirely left out.
There is no safer, better place for someone elderly to live out their days.
