Our mother stayed at Wray Park care home for 4 weeks after leaving hospital. She has heart failure, was exhausted and very unwell. All the staff were very welcoming to her and couldn't do enough to help her. The staff are all excellent, extremely caring. We are so thankful for all their efforts.

My mother was resident here for 4 years prior to her recent death.
I cannot speak highly enough of the care and support mum received in her time at the home. The staff are wonderful, dedicated, supportive, affectionate and there is a lovely atmosphere.
All are treated with dignity and respect.
In
her final days, mum was cared for amazingly. My brother and myself spent 4 days living with her in her room, and all at Wray Park were very caring and supportive of us too. Rooms were made available for our use if we wished to use them, and we were provided with food and drinks. They couldn't have done more to support us and mum. Mum passed peacefully with us present, feeling comfortable, secure and loved. Just what we wished for her.
I would not hesitate to recommend Wray Park to anyone looking for a comfortable, safe and caring home for their vulnerable relative. The staff feel like family to the residents and their relatives.

My mum is so well cared for here. After previous home she was in, it was a worry for us. Thankfully all our worries just fell away within a few weeks. The staff are amazing, so caring and patient. The effort put in for special occasions is fantastic and the welcome always friendly with tea offered immediately
and the food is very good. Mum looks happy and healthy. I couldn't fault them in any way. So grateful.

After my husband had to spend 4 and a half weeks in hospital with an infected pressure sore on his foot, his previous care home refused to have him back after discharge from hospital. After a search locally, we found Wray Park who were very reassuring about the care they could offer. He is only 69 but
is suffering from semantic dementia and is now doubly incontinent. Wray Park have been so caring and cater for all his physical needs, nothing is too much trouble. He is freshly shaved/showered and smartly dressed (and changed when necessary) every day. I am very happy he is in the right place.

My father was admitted to Wray Park in September 2018 after spending several weeks in hospital and being turned down by many care home providers. Myself and my sister viewed Wray Park and were very impressed by the staff and their values, the transition to the home from hospital was very swift which
was good for Dad as he has dementia and at that time was very confused. The staff and manager were very helpful. They have an open door policy which is good for us as we work shifts. We visit Dad weekly and we are always made to feel very welcome. They keep us informed of Dad's health etc at all times. Dad always looks amazing and we have no concerns with Dad's care in Wray Park. Can't thank them enough.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.523)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.523) out of 10 for Wray Park Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.623 for Wray Park Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (70 Excellents x 5) + (32 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 106 Ratings = 4.623

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Wray Park Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 24 registered maximum number of service users is 4.8, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
