Since Mum moved into Eridge House she has made huge progress, the staff and management of Eridge made a difficult decision for us as a family much easier. Mum enjoys the company, I visit three or four times a week at whatever time, I am always welcomed and Mum has always been on great form. A huge thank

Just wanted to write to say how appreciative I am for the friendliness and helpfulness shown by all the staff and managers at Eridge House towards my father. He has now been in their care for about 11 months and it has become a happy home for him, with his needs well met, in spite of the challenging

My mother has been a resident at Eridge House since June this year and the staff have helped us all through the difficult period of mental capacity assessment, initial isolation, inclusion, and from then on ongoing support always with a friendly, caring attitude. With 2 specific carers assigned to my
mother, our family have always received timely updates relating to her health and well-being and when a doctor or nursing attendance has been required they have also been supportive. The link between the Care Home with NHS support couldn't be better. My mother understands that she needs to be in a Care Home and is always positive when speaking of the staff, management, food, facilities, and the wonderful garden outlook from her room. I am very pleased that we chose Eridge for our mother and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone who finds themselves in the position of trying to find a caring, friendly and supportive Care Home.

Eridge House is a calm, homely place where my mum has been happy to live for over two years. The staff are warm and friendly, professional at all times and sensitive to our needs. Throughout the pandemic, the management has been caring and compassionate but acting to ensure the safety of residents.
Special arrangements have been made and communicated to us who want to visit our loved ones. I really appreciate everything they do.

My husband has happily been in Eridge House as a respite resident while I have chemotherapy. He is very well cared for and has no complaints. Having Alzheimer's, he is very forgetful and the carers are very patient with him.

The care at Eridge House is exceptional. I feel that my mum is well looked after and that her needs relating to her dementia are met well. Eridge has managed to keep everyone COVID free during the pandemic which is an astonishing achievement. Regarding government guidelines, I do strongly feel that
it is past time to allow care home residents more freedom - keeping them confined to the care homes is now detrimental to their mental health.

Only ever having had bad experiences of care homes in the past, my visits to Eridge House have changed my opinion. The place is spotless, all the staff are caring with a great sense of humour and I understand that the food is good too. Nothing is too much trouble.

My mother had to go into Eridge House during the first lockdown. The managers and staff have made this as easy as possible. They have made sure we're kept fully informed and sent photos of her room as we were unable to visit in person. We have also had photos of the various events they've put on. I
would have no hesitation in recommending Eridge House to anyone.

Mum went into Eridge House just before the national lockdown. The staff at Eridge are very caring and hard working. They have all been superstars working under such difficult conditions and I have been very impressed with the way that mum has been looked after meaning that her care has been a weight
off my mind. Their current social distanced visits are also very well managed and COVID safe. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a care home of excellent facilities, staff and care of their residents.

My aunt moved to Eridge at the beginning of March 2020 when the world changed. I was very impressed that they closed their doors to visitors earlier than government guidelines so that filled me with initial confidence. Nothing has been too much trouble whether it be a telephone call or email question.
To keep my aunt connected with the world I got an iPhone delivered and within 30 mins was enjoying a great FaceTime with her. Thank you for setting that up for her and always ready to “run to her room” to connect her - it has meant a great deal to her and us. Outdoor social distancing visits were well organised and I would like to say another thank you for celebrating her 70th birthday with her during this pandemic. Definitely treated like royalty but from what I can gather that seems the way every day.

My mother entered Eridge House in July 2019 and has received excellent care and attention until her death on 6th October 2019.
All the staff have been of the highest standard, kind and considerate until the end.
They ensured that she was treated with dignity and compassion at all times.
We could
not fault any aspects of her care whilst at the home. In our opinion, this is an excellently run care home.

Edridge House provided a caring and personal environment for the last five months of my husband's life. They were at all times supportive of my husband and myself and helped me to cope with the transition from able to less able. Their professionalism encouraged me to feel confident about my husbands
care and reduced my anxiety under the situation.

Heidi

Heidi Haddow

Job Title: Proprietor

Joined: 1988

Heidi has a wealth of experience in the health and social care sector, including working as a manager of a care home prior to becoming the proprietor of Eridge House.


In Heidi's words... I have had the privilege of owning Eridge House since 1988. I have lived in Bexhill for most of my life and for ten years I held the post as a trustee for two local charities which I found most rewarding. One of my biggest achievements is seeing the development of Eridge House from registration of fourteen in 1988 to that of forty-three older people today. Embracing the changing ways in which we work, and the diverse and skilled team led by our Directors and Managers.


Laura

Laura Witham

Job Title: Director

Joined: 2018

Laura is responsible for managing the management team and working closely with Heidi to oversee the running of Eridge House as a business, alongside Nicole.


In Laura's words... My first ever job was at Eridge House as a teenager. I went on to become a Care Assistant here, obtained my NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care, and after a few years away I returned as manager in 2018 until 2022 alongside Nicole. I thoroughly enjoyed my role here as manager and am thrilled to remain working at Eridge House, now in the role of Director. I have achieved my NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management in Health & Social Care and have experience working in both a care home setting and as a domiciliary care provider. Working at Eridge House has always felt special. People often comment on the homely and friendly feel and that is something the entire team are dedicated to providing for all residents and their loved ones.


Nicole

Nicole Witham

Job Title: Director

Joined: 2017

Nicole is responsible for managing the management team and working closely with Heidi to oversee the running of Eridge House as a business, alongside Laura.


In Nicole's words... When I was offered the job of Supper Assistant at the age of 14 at Eridge House I never imagined that I would become a Director here alongside my sister, Laura. After travelling and acquiring various work experience, I was delighted to return to Eridge House, first in the role of Accounts Manager, to then go on to become the Registered Manager, and now a Director. The friendly atmosphere makes Eridge an enjoyable place to work alongside our dynamic team. My role requires commitment, dedication, and diversity and this is incredibly rewarding. I have obtained my NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management in Health & Social Care.


Shelley

Shelley Fuller

Job Title: Manager

Joined: 2020

Shelley is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day running of Eridge House, alongside Rhia.


In Shelley's words... Eridge House has always been in my heart from a young age. One of my dreams was that when the time was right, I wanted to return to Eridge following in my Mum's footsteps. I became Assistant Manager here in September 2020, before later becoming one of the managers in the summer of 2022. I feel privileged to have a role that isn't just a job, it's like an extension of my family. I feel honoured to be part of a team that shares the same passion, values, and commitment to care as I do. I am currently studying towards my Level 5 in Leadership & Management in Health & Social Care.


Rhia

Rhia Laloo

Job Title: Manager

Joined: 2020

Rhia is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day running of Eridge House, alongside Shelley.


In Rhia's words... I started working at Eridge House during the first COVID-19 lockdown. I had every intention of staying on board as bank staff and returning to my old job, however when I was offered the role of Assistant Manager I couldn't say no, I loved the homely feel and knew I would be happy here with such a good team around me and lovely residents. I am currently enjoying working towards my NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management in Health & Social Care and can't wait to apply this to my role as manager.


Marie

Marie Earle

Job Title: Assistant Manager

Joined: 2019

Marie assists Shelley and Rhia with managing the home and provides support to our Care Assistants as part of her job role.


In Marie's words... I joined the Eridge House team in 2019 as a Senior Care Assistant and am thrilled to have progressed to the role of Assistant Manager, with the support of an amazing management team. I have worked in care for over 15 years and have gained my Level 3 NVQ in Health & Social Care and am currently working towards my NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management in Health & Social Care.
