My brother and I consider ourselves so lucky to have found Grosvenor House. In the early days, Mum enjoyed the company and the lovely activities. Now she is bed-bound and on end-of-life care, she remains a well-loved member of the community and enjoys the care which is second to none. We cannot thank
them enough for all they do!

Excellent. Great view of the sea from my room. A cafe within easy reach. All my pictures from home are on my wall at Grosvenor House. Very nice staff. Well run and attentive care.

My mother used to live by herself and was independent but she then fell and broke her hip. Following this she lost her mobility and there was no choice but to move her into a care home. This took place during Covid in December 2020 however Greensleeves were extremely helpful and supportive throughout
this process. I had to transfer my mother from hospital to Grosvenor House myself, when I arrived at Grosvenor House I was immediately impressed by the care and skill shown in getting my mother out of my car and into a wheelchair - it took three people! The unplanned move to a care home was a shock for my mother and the loss of independence continues to be a challenge, however throughout all this time staff in the home have given my mother the care she needs, initially helping her with almost everything whilst giving her the space to gradually regain some limited mobility. Mum feels safe there and has appreciated the immediate support when she has been unwell and I feel she is safe there.

No, the timing was not good when Mum needed a care home due to the pandemic, and it also wasn't easy for yourself and the family as visits were at the time so restrictive. I am really pleased Mum feels safe and we endeavour to encourage her to keep her independence as much as possible. Times can be challenging but the important thing is getting through them together.

My mother lived in Grosvenor House for almost 2 1/2 years. During this time she was treated with respect and dignity. She had a large room and en-suite, with sea views. My mother was particular about food but would pass compliments.
This was the most difficult time, due to Covid, for all of us. Yet
somehow the staff kept their spirits and were cheerful. We were kept fully informed of the steps the home put in place so we could see our loved ones.
My mother passed away about 2 weeks ago. During her last days, the staff took steps so my mother would be comfortable and gave her excellent care.
I feel that the staff have become an extension of our family and I will miss them.
I would highly recommend this care home. If anyone is looking at care homes for their loved one, and there is a vacancy, then grab it!

The manager and her staff have excelled in their welcome, all are kind, friendly and fill me with confidence that I chose the right place for her. They go over and

My auntie is 96 years old and has lived in this home for 7-8 years and for all that time, including this review period, I have found that the care she has received to be excellent. At all times the management and staff have been very welcoming to my husband and I whenever we have been able to visit.
They are very easy to talk to and have kept me fully informed of both my aunt and the overall situation within the home. Unfortunately due to my aunt's failing eyesight and hearing, she has recently been unable to take part in many activities. Her medical needs are well cared for and I do not have any concerns for her wellbeing. A big thank you to you all for your kindness and patience. I have no hesitation in recommending Grosvenor House.

Very kind and patient staff - nothing is too much trouble. Pleasant location near park and sea. Ensuite wet rooms and shower for all. Pleasant lounges in the main building. Activities various kinds for amusing residents during the week - different board games - exercises to promote physical fitness.

My Mum came to Grovesnor House over 6 months ago during the pandemic. Due to the restrictions with Covid-19, we were unable to look around the home, however, we were recommended Grovesnor House by friends for its standards of care and warmth. Its been a difficult process for the family however it has
been great to see Mum well cared for, looked after and Mum being more herself again. Mum tells us often that her care is great, she enjoys social contact with others over lunch and dinner. There are lots of activities within the home that are streamed live on social media so it has been great to see a bit more of the home and the other residents.

My aunt was in residence at Grosvenor House for 21-months, and she was cared for in a very professional way. The family didn't have to worry about her. The staff are amazing and helped me (especially one lady) on the day of her funeral when I had a fall outside the care home. They gave me expert first
aid and gave me advice, which was followed up by another lady at the crematorium. Thank you so much for looking after my relative.

After losing my Dad in 2017, Mum struggled with day to day things so booked into Grosvenor for two weeks respite...she never went home! She loves it there, it’s everything that we could ask for, and gives us peace of mind that she is being well looked after. Since COVID started and they went into lockdown,
there has been a gazebo (the love bubble) erected for friends and family to have a 30 minute socially distanced meeting, all done perfectly and safely. Can’t wait to have lunch ‘out’ when this virus is over. The staff have gone above and beyond their duties to make sure that the residents are happy and well looked after. Thanks to the manager for your ongoing care.

Unfortunately, our hands were forced when it came to Mum moving into a care home last year but the Grosvenor House team helped us through the whole procedure. We had a few teething troubles but just over a year on and Mum is very happy. She has dementia but is well looked after by all the kind and caring
staff. It's extremely reassuring to know that she is safe and being well cared for by a great team. They all do a great job.

My mum moved here from Hertfordshire in March, just as lockdown started, to be closer to me (in Hastings). From the first moment I was shown around the home, saw how lovely the en-suite bedrooms, the lounges, the dining room, the outside space and the views were, I felt it was the place. However, it
was once I met the manager and several of the carers that I knew for certain that it was the place. My mum has dementia, so it was down to me to chose as she wasn't able to. They must surely be the most caring and patient team of people ever. They are also so kind to me and have made it possible for me to see my mum on their weekly video sessions and for us to see each other on FaceTime. The residents have missed family and families have missed the residents but the team has done so much (and installed so much technology) to keep people together and have had some fantastic entertainment to keep up morale. The overriding atmosphere at the home is one of both care and fun.

My aunt is very comfortable and pleased with the care she receives at Grosvenor House. I visit weekly or thereabouts but not on the same day. My aunt's room and the home generally is always clean and comfortable - no unpleasant odours ever. All members of staff we meet are always friendly, greeting

The home is fantastic with my mother. She is not an easy lady but they look after her with care, patience and kindness. She is very happy and settled. My only gripe is the cost. It is too high and has just increased again because my mother's needs have altered. I believe the change in her care is minimal,
but the cost has increased by 10%. Unbelievably expensive. I will not be expecting an increase in 2019.

My aunt has been in the care home now for about 8 weeks. She is happy, feels safe and is extremely well cared for.
It is such a relief to all of the family to know that she is having 24-hour care and is not in any danger.
All of the care team are amazing and do first-class jobs.

Hello, my name is Amanda Newport and I am the Home Manager of Grosvenor House. At Grosvenor House, our aim is to make living in the home a warm, positive experience for all of our residents, families and staff. Together with my team, we ensure that all our residents are treated with respect, dignity and as individuals.
We encourage residents to maximise on their abilities and assist them with their respective needs.


We have an open door approach, even if it is just someone dropping in to see what we are all about.

I started working in Grosvenor House 16 years ago as a care assistant and progressed to a senior carer position and since gained promotion to a care supervisor 18 months ago.


I enjoy working at Grosvenor House and it has become a second family to me. The residents have seen my children grow up and my children love visiting and chatting with the residents.


On a personal level, Grosvenor House has supported me in my career choice and progression.


The key reason I stay here is due to the fact that we work hard as a team and build a compassionate relationship with residents and families.
