After living by myself in a bungalow for 30 years it takes some adjusting to life in a care home, this is the only home I have been in so I cannot give a view through experience of the home.

Grosvenor House is top of our list for the understanding it shows of the elderly, the activities, the garden and close proximity to the seafront! Mom had been there for six years before her demise. They are inclusive of all residents and the activities are second to none. They also make full use of
the lovely garden. The stimulation, I feel sure enhanced her quality of life. They looked after Mom so well. I could turn up on the doorstep any time, they were so friendly and welcoming, always made time and a cuppa for you.
I am full of gratitude to the staff I never had to worry about Mom. I knew she was in such good hands. The staff are brilliant and they are on to any matter of concern immediately. Mom was always nicely dressed, hair done too. She was never lonely or bored, but could still have her quiet time if she wished. I have saved many photos of my Mom looking involved. Mom was always happy, but she did enjoy a good grumble too! This is a CARE home in the true sense of the word.

I stayed at Grosvenor House for 3 weeks respite care while my husband/ carer was abroad dealing with a medical emergency concerning another member of the family. I was made to feel very welcome and was well cared for throughout my stay. Administration of my medication relating to a number of conditions
including diabetes (insulin dependant) was very carefully monitored and supervised. All the staff were very considerate and helpful.

My husband was accommodated in a well furnished room with all facilities. He was very impressed with the standard of care and food. All staff are friendly, caring and attentive. We have no hesitation with recommending Grosvenor House to our friends who may require respite at permanent care in the future.
Might I suggest day respite to be considered by your company for carers like myself who occasionally need to socialise e.g. lunch on a day out with friends and can relax knowing our changes are being well cared for. Also a pressure mat would be useful for patients to be available during the night if they are immobile.

At Grosvenor House, our aim is to make living in the home a warm, positive experience for all of our residents, families and staff. Together with my team, we ensure that all our residents are treated with respect, dignity and as individuals.
We encourage residents to maximise on their abilities and assist them with their respective needs.


We have an open door approach, even if it is just someone dropping in to see what we are all about.

I started working in Grosvenor House 16 years ago as a care assistant and progressed to a senior carer position and since gained promotion to a care supervisor 18 months ago.


I enjoy working at Grosvenor House and it has become a second family to me. The residents have seen my children grow up and my children love visiting and chatting with the residents.


On a personal level, Grosvenor House has supported me in my career choice and progression.


The key reason I stay here is due to the fact that we work hard as a team and build a compassionate relationship with residents and families.
