Quinnell House is an independent family run home that has family values and person-centred care at its core. The team take an holistic approach to delivering care and incorporate this into their ethos of care. Staff are dedicated members of the Quinnell family. They look after each reach resident with dignity, respect, care and compassion.

At Quinnel House, they understand it can be a difficult decision to take the first step to move into a care home. They will offer you support and information to help you make an informed decision.

They can tailor-make your stay for long term care, respite or day visits.

All bedrooms are en suite. Each room is fully furnished and fitted with a TV point. An emergency call system is installed in every room for residents to alert staff if required at any time of the day or night.

Onsite facilities include: Hair Salon & Nail Bar, Communal Lounge & Dining Room, small cosy Lounges for one to one chats and a homely Visiting Hub when family & friends come to call. Along with a dedicated Sensory Room.

The dedicated staff deliver activities suited to each individual's needs. They believe in active and stimulating activities that allow both the mind and body to remain active.

As soon as my husband arrived, noticed how mucky the bedding was, the sheet was split with hairs stuck in. Pillows unusable. Dirty bed cover. Had to go out and purchase all new bedding. Husband left quite a while just sitting. No exercise programme was noticed. He had several falls whilst there. Very
expensive home for what is provided. One time food from a dish was scraped into the bin in the room, smelling the room out.

Thank you for taking the time to bring your experience to our attention. Our aim is to provide the best possible care to those we support and it is something we take very seriously. This review seems very out of character for us as a home, but we do encourage families to speak to the manager as most things can be resolved before it becomes an issue. Unfortunately, there are times when a person's needs change and behave out of character after discharge from hospital. Especially when living with dementia. I believe my team did explain the food in the bin and said we will encourage your husband to eat in communal areas. We also cannot mitigate falls but can put strategies in place to prevent the impact of them.
We don't have a record of any formal complaints made by yourself in the time your husband was here for respite. This makes it difficult to rectify a situation. Again we do apologise and strive to learn form this and move forward.

Mum was looked after very well for 5 years. The staff understood her needs and supported us when we struggled. Her room was her sanctuary and the staff made sure she always had her bits that made her happy around her. She was free to roam about the home and all the staff in every department always stopped
to have a chat. This is person-centred care.

We cannot recommend a better home. We are always welcomed with a smile and my dad loves being here. The staff make sure he is not lonely and is always fed well! We toured the home when we came in for the show around and it was nice and clean.

I have been very happy with the care the resident has received during their stay. I have only visited in 'the hub', so have only seen limited areas of the home. The resident appears very happy and relaxed and relates well to the staff.

We are so grateful to this amazing staff team! They really care. The staff in the home is friendly and welcoming. It’s nice to see the freedom they offer everyone who lives here. The staff are great! Even with tricky customers, they take it all in their stride. The home is clean and smells nice. Everyone is so friendly and kind. We as a family, felt that was what won us over, was their kindness.

We needed emergency help with Gran. The home could not have been more helpful from the moment we walked through the door. Gran is so happy here. We could not have made a better choice. It’s not a big name home but a big heart home.

This is a beautiful, homely home. The staff are so supportive, and the whole team has always got time to help. The home is clean, and my relative is well cared for. You can see that the staff love their job. We looked at some of the bigger name homes, but at this home, a resident is not a number but
a person.

This home is very supportive. The goal is to support and look after the residents' needs and they come first. They ask the resident what they want and we felt that was very important. Quinnell House was a good care home for my husband who had advanced dementia. His behaviour could be challenging. He had enjoyed an outdoors life and was able to go outside into the courtyard garden whenever he wished and walk around the long corridors. The canteen-style dining room suited him and the
staff were very approachable and friendly.

Quinnell House is an extremely warm, welcoming and friendly home. It is clean and tidy and the residents well presented. The atmosphere is always happy, relaxed and from what I have seen the staff go the extra mile to really 'care' for the residents. Be this a chat and hold of the hand to fetching that
extra cup of tea and biscuit. The staff are always smiling and really genuine, nothing is too much trouble. My friend's room is clean, tidy and presentable with his personal items making it feel homely. The food looks inviting, varied and plentiful. There is a staff team of regular carers which is nice as it gives a more personal feel and the manager is very friendly and approachable. Activities happen throughout the day offering a nice range to suit individuals. I always feel welcomed, be that on a Facetime call, phone call or face to face visit with my friend and in these hard times Quinnell has always made sure I can keep in contact with my friend.

Quinnell House cared for my father throughout the last years of his life. I can't speak highly enough of the warm and caring attitude that every member of the care team displayed throughout his time there and it was a great comfort to me to know that he was being looked after so well. I feel the staff
at Quinnell House take a very personal approach to ensuring that their residents are treated with dignity and respect and ensure that they take an active interest in getting to know their residents' personality and life history. It always seemed to me that they really view everyone in their care as people, not just as a job, which is of great support to the residents and their family. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the home was extremely vigilant in maintaining hygiene and safety protocols and went a whole year before suffering from any infiltration of Covid into the home, which, given that the virus was extremely widespread and transmissible is an extraordinary achievement.

I have little to compare this home too, I can only guess if others are better or worse. However, the home is always warm, clean and tidy. The residents appear well kept tidy and in clean cloths. During the day it would appear that there are activities to try and keep them engaged. Many staff appear
excellent though some perhaps not quite so committed -hence the rating "good" below as an average.

I visit my Friend who resides here often. I am always happy with the atmosphere of the home. It is clean and inviting. If you ask for something staff will do their best to help. We enjoy visiting and enjoy Seeing the happiness of this unique home. Could not fault them.

I was apprehensive before my first visit, having been in some care homes as a visitor and agency staff. I was impressed from the first visit and my opinion hasn't changed.
The home is lovely and clean.
The staff are so friendly and caring. It makes a lovely, happy, relaxed atmosphere, which I think
helps the residents to feel secure and happy. I think it is a first-class establishment.
