Ingham House is a traditional boutique family run nursing home in the heart of Meads. It has provided excellent care for the local community for over 40 years.

There is a varied choice of accommodation to suit all tastes and there is plenty of communal space for activities and hobbies. Ingham House offers a comfortable, warm homely environment with a friendly welcoming atmosphere, whilst providing 21st century facilities required for a modern care home.

The experienced management and staff are highly trained and qualified to provide the best range of personalised and specialist care. Ingham House is open to enquiries from private clients, NHS and Local Authority referrals as well as respite and day care.

The Home consists of two main traditional Victorian buildings in keeping with the beautiful suburban location. The Home is close to the town centre and 500m from the idyllic Eastbourne Seafront, Congress Theatre, Towner Art Gallery, Grand Hotel, Bandstand, Italian Gardens, Meads Village and other attractions. There are regular trips out to other places of interest further afield using the Home's mini bus.

The Home has large mature gardens front and back and there are regular garden parties during the summer for residents and their families and friends.

I've been really impressed by how kind and friendly staff at Ingham House have been since my mum moved there in December 2024. They have worked really hard to be so welcoming and to help mum engage despite her dementia. It's fair to say there have been challenges around getting her to eat regularly,
take care of herself and join in with activities and other residents. But staff have worked hard, and what's most impressive have worked with us to find ways to encourage mum. The transformation in her in just her first 7 weeks has been a huge relief for us, and mum is very happy. We visit a couple of times a week, and staff are always welcoming, chat about mum and how things are going, ask for our input and make us very welcome. The Elvis impersonator was a real high point for mum, she was laughing and grinning about the the next day, telling us all about it. She was even up dancing!

Good care and time given to understand and fulfil Mum's needs. She has only been a resident for a short time but has settled well and I feel confident she is in a safe and appropriately stimulating environment.

I visited Ingham House, on behalf of my husband, without appointment but was immediately made most welcome and shown around. Previously, I'd seen many homes in the area, but felt none had the busy friendly family feel of Ingham House and it would make a happy caring home for my husband who has advanced
dementia. He has a lovely room, is well cared for by kind and caring staff. I visit regularly and he always appears happy. He enjoys plentiful, tasty and varied meals which I too have enjoyed on occasions. Between meals, drinks, snacks and fruit is available. There's morning and afternoon activities plus outside entertainers visit. Also a lovely garden which we've enjoyed over the past months. I continue to feel that I've definitely made the right choice with Ingham House.

Lovely staff, good caregivers, cleaning staff, kitchen staff, the activities staff all do a wonderful job. The building has seen better days but is ok. The garden outside mums room and the also the carpet inside needs attention. Also if possible a bit more re- assurance about mums health so we know
that she is getting the health checks & medications she should be.
But as said love the staff & what they do.

Thank you for your review. We are planning on landscaping the area outside Mum's bedroom. The sensory garden will be attractive and peaceful with a water feature and a herb garden. Updates are readily available from the nurses about health checks and medication and I have reminded our staff to approach residents' families with these regularly even if there is no change to their health status.

Despite being one of the youngest residents they had catered for, their overall ability to adapt was really good the only problem I would say was certain staff who may not have been the nicest. Apart from that the rest of the staff were very friendly, always trying to have a good laugh and make you
feel more comfortable in the unfamiliar environment thus the staff willing to make you feel more comfortable, especially the majority of the nurses and some of the management, they helped me through a major stepping stone in my life and I am forever grateful.

My mum moved into the home after a few weeks in hospital. She was in a very poor condition and was in need of full nursing care. In just 3 weeks my mum is talking, moving, free of infections, eating and hydrated. We thought she might sink further but in a short period, the full care and patience have
brought mum back to a stable state. The care has been beyond expectation and the best thing is for the first time in a number of years mum feels safe and happy.

Look past the building which is in need of a little TLC. The comfortable garden is priceless on warmer days with lots of seating in and out of the shade. The staff are lovely. The food looks great and big portions too. My husband was always clean and tidy whenever we visited and never ever reticent
about going back when we took him out for lunch. All in all, he seemed happy with his stay between May - September 2024.

Fantastic home! My friend chose Ingham House Care Home because it had a busy and friendly atmosphere. There is always lots going on and it's got lots of communal space. Bit of disruption to start with because lots of work has been going on. New flooring and furniture and the such like. However, the
care is second to none with staff on hand to help out and keep you going! Food is good and there is a varied menu. They've got a nice, big minibus to get you out on trips and the gardens are big and nice in the summer. There's a wide variety of rooms and they've all got a bit of Victorian character. The manager is kind and approachable as well as being very professional and clearly very good at her job. We looked around quite a few homes before settling on Ingham and I'm glad we did.

My husband moved to Ingham House Care Home ten days ago after two years of being cared for at home and after he got Covid six weeks in hospital. Due to his increased care needs exacerbated by Covid and vascular dementia, it has been decided he will need 24-hour nursing care. I was nervous and so worried
about him as he has always had care at home with me. I needn't have worried as the staff at Ingham are absolutely superb. They treat the residents with respect and do the very best job. The kindness and care I have witnessed are excellent. It's a happy place to be. My husband has settled in well in a nice room. The food is all home-cooked and very good. I know now he's in safe hands which means the world so thank you all the staff.

My friend of many years, who is severely disabled, needed to vacate her flat whilst maintenance was carried out for a few weeks. Our worst fear was that any home would be unable to cope with her complex needs and that she would be bedridden.
Nothing could be further from the truth, the staff are attentive,
friendly and helpful, there is a great vibe in the home and nothing is too much trouble, I really believe that the change of scene is doing her good and whoever manages this place needs high praise indeed. The gardens are fantastic and my friend is very happy, thank you to everyone at Ingham House Care Home.

My friend was stuck in hospital, waiting for her house to be re-arranged and carers to be hired so that she could go home. It seemed to take ages and although the hospital staff were good it's not always easy to settle down and make yourself at "home".
There was an opportunity to go to Ingham House
Care Home temporarily while she waited to go home. She arrived and I went round to see her. It was lovely, lots going on both around the home and with trips out. I was told the home had recently converted to a nursing home which meant it could care for people who needed more help and could take patients from the NHS which was good for us!
The staff were friendly, kind and considerate, my friend was well looked after and I was offered tea and sandwiches/snacks when I visited, it really felt like a home.
The thing I liked most was that other residents seemed to all get on, they are a friendly bunch, not like a hotel, it's like your own home might be, you don't feel like you have to stand on ceremony.

My 91 year old dad has Alzheimer's and went into Ingham House in May 2016. He has many positive qualities and can be challenging, particularly when frustrated by his condition. The home has cared for him extremely well, taking him on outings to the pub (one of his favourite things!) and other lovely
places. The manager is available to listen to feedback and will act swiftly if any problems arise. The staff team are genuinely caring and interested in the well being of their residents.
My dad has a PEACE plan in place which means he can be cared for at home with support rather than admitted to hospital with all the indignity and upset that causes for someone with his condition.
He recently had a fall - the staff involved were fantastic. They kept me informed and sought my opinions on what would be the best course of action for my dad. They supported him despite problems accessing GP out of hours help and he was able to get help and remain at home. Ingham House is exceptional!
