It is lovely to have a new manager at the home who is very proactive. There are now a variety of daily activities that the residents can interact with, with help of the staff - colouring, painting, skittles, beach ball for catch and throw, puzzles, singer and quiz master. It's lovely to see my mother
joining in and smiling.
The staff are very caring and attentive towards my mother. The home is kept clean, always a cleaner working away when I visit. The laughter and banter between the staff are so lovely to hear and see. I enjoy my visits with my mother and also seeing who I now class as my friends - the staff. Thank you so much for the way she is so well cared for and treated with respect.

I have found the care staff and management to be attentive to the needs of my mother. They have responded to her increased needs in terms of her dementia care and have supplied more specialised equipment as required. Also, the staff and management are supportive of the family as they are very much part
of the resident's journey.

She and her late husband has been at St Michael's for over 5-years. I had felt the care and cleanliness had gone downhill, and I wasn't at all happy. Since the change of staff in the last month, I have noticed a huge difference, making her (102) more peaceful. I think previously, although she can't
express herself, she was very unhappy.

My father transferred to St Michael's from another care home that proved unsuitable for him. The calm and relaxed atmosphere meant he settled in quickly. The care team are kind and considerate. When my father has been ill it has been dealt with quickly and efficiently. The home itself and my father's
room is kept to a high standard of cleanliness. The freedom to wander around the home and the large garden is ideal for him.

I feel the standard of staff is not very good and seems to be constantly changing. Every visit to my relative throws up a problem, sometimes care of a relative, missing laundry, personal walking frame not being used.
On the positive side, I do feel my relative is settled at St Michaels Rest Home.

Since my father was accepted in St Michael's, I have found the home to be very good in all aspects of his care. My sister and I usually visit on a weekly basis and are always made welcome. The staff are all very nice and helpful and all residents seem to be relaxed, calm and above all, cared for. Our
father loves his food and drinks copious amounts of tea. Life seems better now as his wife has now joined him. I think they will both now be very happy.

On the whole, he is cared for, what I do not understand is the lack of communication: ie when I asked about my brother's glasses, I had to keep on asking. Finally after months when he did get them, he wasn't wearing them. They were in his room, twice. I have also noticed a rash on his face, no one knew
about this, what it was, how long he had it. Was it in his care plan?

My husband was admitted into St.Michael's in March this year with early dementia and multiple physical ailments. He was unable to stand, doubly incontinent and frequently aggressive. Since he has been in St.Michael's he has learnt to stand to change chairs, is much happier in himself and his UTI's have
decreased significantly. The care he has received is matchless in my experience. If I become ill this is where I should like to be cared for.
There can be no higher praise.

My mother was transferred from the Irvin Unit in hospital to St Michael's after suffering a stroke, as she needed a secure environment with specialists to deal with her ongoing dementia.
I was so relieved after a few visits to see her so happy and safe. She believed that she was in her own home. She
was also in good hands with carers who really understood her difficulties and the little things that would make her happy.
She suffered terribly from loneliness after my father passed and she finds the social aspects of the care home comforting.
They even managed a way to get her to have a bath which is something I never managed to do. The facilities are very good with a very homely feel and very clean.
I recommend this home very highly.

St Michael's Rest Home is an excellent care home for dementia patients. My father has been living in their care for two years and is happy and content. The atmosphere in the care home is like a fancy home and is very welcoming and friendly. I would have no hesitation in recommend this care home to others
seeking good care for a relative.

When I come to see my wife she usually appears relaxed and content. She is always looking clean and well looked after. I am told she eats her food and has plenty to drink. This is good to see, and the coffee I am served is very welcome.

My aunt (almost 99) is being cared for by very professional, caring and kind staff. I see her almost every day and I am always amazed how the staff treat all those that are vulnerable, with dignity and compassion.

My mum has been cared for by St Michaels since November 2013. The care and kindness my mother received from all the staff was outstanding. I and my brothers and sisters could not have cared for her any more ourselves. To be able to have our mum looked after with such care and consideration was a relief.
As a family we would not hesitate to recommend St Michaels to have your loved one looked after knowing that they would be in safe hands.

Since my step-father moved to St Michael's in September 2015, we have experienced excellent support from all the staff. They understand his needs and support accordingly, keeping me well informed as necessary. His room is clean, light and airy and equipped with everything he needs.
