Offering sea views, the Normanhurst is located on the seafront, by De La Warr Parade in Bexhill on Sea.

The Normanhurst complex, under the same ownership since 1968, consists of two homes on the same site: the Normanhurst Care Home and Normanhurst Nursing Home.

These homes provide residential and nursing care for the elderly, whether private or funded.

Care is tailored to suit the resident's individual needs, covering long-term, respite and palliative care.

Residents can move between the homes if needed, being cared for without moving location, or having to re-organise their affairs. This helps to remove worries about changes in the future. Administration, housekeeping, food, etc., would remain unchanged.

Staff are very caring and well qualified and have in-depth knowledge and experience, but are always willing to have further training to keep up to date with new care methods, innovations and requirements of regulators.

Staff create a warm, friendly atmosphere, where residents feel safe and protected, and can live in dignity and comfort. Family and friends are always welcome.

All food is prepared by staff, using as much fresh produce as possible, and making sure that food is nutritious and tasty. A daily menu is offered with many options, and those with special dietary needs are catered for.

Two activities organisers arrange a wide variety of activities and outings, both on an individual and group basis.

I've been coming here to see my friend four-five years now. If anyone were ever to ask me to recommend a care home I would put the Normanhurst Residential Care Home at the top of the list!

Absolutely delighted to see my father so happy and well cared for in the Normanhurst.


The staff are wonderful: patient, kind and reassuring with occasional and entirely appropriate arm touches or hand-holding which are so reassuring for someone like my Dad who has Alzheimers.

My father has been living here for four years. He's happy and well cared for. Although he doesn't choose to join in many of the activities, he knows they are there for his enjoyment. He loves the fact that having given up his home, he has his own furniture here and can still live independently within
his means. He enjoys brief walks along there promenade and so this is situated ideally.
Whenever he is unwell or needs extra care, we know he is in good hands.

I have found a warm and welcoming atmosphere over the last nine months when I have visited my sister on a regular basis. It has also been possible to have my lunch with her and the staff have been most accommodating.
All the staff are very approachable and some go out of their way to answer inevitable
questions which arise when adjustments have to be made by residents who come from their own private homes to live in community.

The home is very friendly. The staff know all the residents and have time to talk to them. They always have things for them to do or entertainment coming in for them to enjoy. You can stay for lunch or tea with them. They are able to come and go as they want.

Since I have been here I find the staff extremely helpful and friendly. The food is fine as I have a choice at all meal times.
