My mother's care requirements have changed - that is the only reason she is moving from Nova. Nova has been excellent for my mother and for us. We have been reassured that mother has been safe, secure and well looked after. My mother has enjoyed her time in Seaford, particularly being able to visit
the seaside in the summer months.

My mother was under the care of the manager and his team for the past 19 months. She passed away peacefully, comfortably and pain-free on the 12th of May 2017.
It is no wonder that places in Nova House are seldom free. A fantastic environment, true care and commitment for all clients in a home that
truly feels like home. The whole team are to be applauded for their relentless effort and unwavering professionalism. Thanks to all of you.

My Mother-in-Law has been in several care homes in Seaford for respite care with varying degrees of satisfaction. When the time care for her to be in permanent care, we were so fortunate there was a space at Nova House.

Her care there has been excellent, the degree of commitment and kindness from

the staff is amazing. Such a high standard of professionalism from all the staff who show a genuine care to all their residents.

We cannot thank you enough, thanks to the kitchen staff too for the cups of tea and kindness, and the food always looked lovely!

The Manager and the staff were truly wonderful with my dad and he enjoyed his time there immensely. I cannot fault their care of dad at all. Dad loved the food, the activities (especially the singers) and the surroundings and the addition of the deck meant that, during the summer, he was able to spend
a lot of days outside which he thoroughly enjoyed. It's situated in a lovely part of Seaford and is within walking distance to shops and to the beachfront which my dad and I enjoyed our walks along greatly. A wonderful place and I would strongly recommend Nova to any individuals or their families.

Thank you very much for your kind words. We are only sad that your father couldn't have spent longer with us, and indeed, we send all our very best wishes.

Welcoming and light hearted ambiance created by all the staff and manager. Moving Mum to this home was a major step for her and the family! Any contact made with the home (by e-mail, telephone or in person) was met with efficiency and kindness reassuring us that we made the best choice. They follow
implicitly the essential care standards for the elderly. Her room was spacious, clean and fresh in décor with a modern en-suite. When parents are living in the sunset of their years, you worry what is the best decision to make. I cannot recommend better than Nova House in Seaford, our childhood home town. See for yourself at their Summer Fete on Sunday August 16th - contact the home for details.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.696)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.696) out of 10 for Nova House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.896 for Nova House is calculated as follows: ( (86 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.896

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Nova House is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 36 registered maximum number of service users is 7.2, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
