Woodlands care home is one of the most homely and friendly around and they welcome people with open arms, like a big family. Their focus is on brighter living, so every day they bring a ray of sunshine to their residents. Their seven day a week sunny moments club, led by their dedicated activity co-ordinator, provides a variety of one to one and group activities, based on residents hobbies and interests - there's something for everyone.

Each resident has an allocated key worker and the staff team receive regular training to make sure they provide the best care and support 24 hours a day.

The home has a 5* food hygiene certificate and the in-house catering team create delicious, nutritious home-cooked meals, reflecting residents preferences.

Engaging and involving the residents is important and they constantly seek ideas, feedback and suggestions from the residents and their family to continuously improve their service.

Woodlands is a purpose-built home close to a forest with a wealth of wildlife seen from bedroom windows amongst the mature gardens.

The home has spacious modern en suite rooms to accommodate a homely community of 39 residents, all of which have garden views.

There is a large lounge area with fireplace, a private bar area and a bright and airy dining room, as well as plentiful day rooms, an activities room and hairdressing salon.

Mum moved in back in May and was very unsettled for a while. The staff have gone above and beyond to help her settle in. Everyone is friendly and cannot do enough for her. The daily activities are a good distraction for her. I cannot praise the Woodlands Staff enough.

Mum has been living at Woodlands for just over two years now, having moved there with Dad, who sadly passed away in December 2020. The staff are all very caring and nice, and Mum has never complained since she's been in the home. The staff go out of their way to provide lots of different activities
for the residents, and Mum really enjoys the entertainers that go in regularly. During the pandemic, despite many care homes going into complete lockdown, Woodlands adapted one of their rooms to enable pre-booked visits which were really important for the resident's well-being. You would have to go a long way to find a better place for care.

We could not have found a better care home than Woodlands. This was reinforced recently by paramedics visiting Mum who said they go to many care homes, but Woodlands is one of the best! It was a huge decision for Mum to move from assisted living to a care home but it was the right one. Mum is treated
with kindness, compassion and respect by everyone. She has settled in so well and enjoys her new life which makes her and us very happy. Despite the immense pressure care homes are under now, Woodlands staff are amazing and do a wonderful job. Thank you all, we are very grateful.

Mum is happy and well looked after. Although standards are not yet back to how they were pre-pandemic, I am sure they will improve in the next few months. The staff are very friendly and efficient.

My mum lived with me for two years and I cared for her but it was time that we both needed more help with her care. In the two months that she came to Woodlands, she has settled very quickly and already feels like it is her home. All the staff have been wonderful, caring, kind and respectful. We feel
very lucky to find a care home like Woodlands that can provide all the support and care that my mum and I so needed due to her advancing years, fragility and health issues. My mum has capacity and she constantly praises the care she and the other residents are given. I would highly recommend Woodlands to anyone who needs a wonderful caring home for their loved ones.

My mother arrived at Woodlands initially for one month's respite in early May 2022. Understandably, she took a little time to settle in but she soon did so. She has not had company for a long time and enjoys chatting with other residents and staff who are all so caring and attentive.

My mother spent a week at Woodlands for respite care. I visited her a couple of times that week and found the staff very pleasant and helpful. Everyone knew who my mother was and I was impressed with the facilities and the care she received. Mum also spoke very highly about the kindness and support
she received from the staff.

I was unsure about staying at Woodlands for a week and on arrival was very anxious about how I would manage, especially as my room was on the first floor and I would have to use the lift. I need not have worried as the staff were helpful, kind and supportive. I was able to sit outside on a patio in
the afternoons - lovely and several day rooms to use in the mornings where one could be quiet and write letters etc. My overall impression was of a well-run home, well-ordered meal times and really kind staff.

As a visitor, everything about the care home is good. I am not so sure about the opinion of a resident with Alzheimer's and have no interest in anything other than going back home! Very difficult for the staff to deal with.

Mum is always clean and tidy. As happy as possible, given her state of mind. Seems well cared for. The only criticism is poor communication at times.

We joined Woodlands for the Jubillee BBQ. All the staff were joining in and were friendly. There were a lot of guests and residents and the atmosphere was very good. We were well fed and it was a very relaxed time. Thank you.

Mum moved to Woodlands in April 2021 when it became clear she could no longer manage alone at home. She lived a long way from us and had become frail and withdrawn. Mum was worried about making the move at first but it has proved to be a huge success. Mum constantly tells us how lovely and caring all
the staff are at Woodlands. She no longer looks frail and her quality of life has improved no end. There are so many activities for her to do - Mum loves to keep busy by joining in all the craft activities particularly. Although she has Alzheimer’s, Mum is still very independent and manages to do a lot for herself but we know the help is always there if she needs it. Whenever we visit there is a happy, friendly atmosphere and the staff are always professional. We would highly recommend Woodlands to anyone contemplating a care home for a loved one.

My parents moved to Woodlands in November 2019. The setting was as home-like as a care home can be. During the lockdowns, which began soon afterwards, they received excellent care. However, it wasn't until my father died last month that I realised how exceptional that care is. The hospital warned us
that our hopes of having him transferred back to Woodlands for his final days were most likely misplaced for a care home would be unwilling to accept the demanding nursing responsibilities. To the amazement of the palliative care doctor, staff insisted that Woodlands was his home and they wanted him back. During the four days he had left he was devotedly nursed by carers who knew and loved him. On his final night, the manager and a senior carer who had finished a 12 hour shift insisted on remaining with him for another 12 hours until he died. We could not have asked for a more supportive environment. The Woodlands team really do treat residents - and relatives - as family.

Woodlands has offered a friendly, professional and extremely well run home for my father. He was reluctant to go into a home and we were concerned due to Covid. We needn’t have worried, he is extremely happy, settled and very well cared for. The home has a happy welcoming feel to it.

My father has been living at Woodlands for the last 3 years plus. His care has been excellent and he is well looked after at all times.
Sadly he has Alzheimer's and his memory is not great but using his own words he regularly tells me how lovely all the staff are and how lucky he is to be at Woodlands.
They have handled what has been an extremely difficult time over the last 18 months but their communication and different safe ways of safely visiting dad have been well done.
I have been most impressed with everything about Woodlands and it is a relief for the family that he is in good hands.
