Thank you for your positive review of Southlands Place. We are delighted that you were so pleased with the level of care and thank you for your comments about the overall standard of our home. We build our care team to ensure they are able to provide person-centred care and spend valuable time with our residents. Now that the weather has improved, we are looking at more outside pursuits and also visiting the allotment which we look after in conjunction with other members of the Bexhill Action Alliance Group. Our cupcake baking for the Alzheimer’s society was a great success and residents relished the opportunity to be involved in this venture. We always welcome the opportunity to improve and hope you will continue to share your thoughts with us in the home.

Job Title: Home Manager
I am proud to have been promoted from Deputy Manager to Home Manager at Southlands Place.
As a registered general nurse, I started out my career at Hurstwood Park Neurological Centre working in the intensive care unit specialising in brain trauma and injury, supporting patients with neurological deficits. From there I transferred my skills to working with residents living with dementia. I have previously managed Nursing Homes and supported the needs of a diverse range of residents.
As Home Manager it is important to me that our residents receive the care and respect that they deserve and that they see this as their home and family. Every day my team want to make a difference in our residents’ lives, seeing a smile on their faces and laughing makes everything worthwhile.
I have an amazing team around me and It is important to me that my team are supported in their roles to assist our residents, as well as giving them the opportunity to develop and learn new skills as this is what has helped me throughout my career. We are all passionate and committed to making Southlands Place home for all.
I have lived in the local area for over 25 years and my favourite aspect is the seafront as well as the close community spirit, including the strong relationships that our home has with the local community. Outside of work, I enjoy running and reading, as well as walking my dogs and spending time with my family and friends.
