I found the team looking after my resident to be excellent. The team are kind, caring, attentive and have empathy. I found my resident was treated as an individual. They were listened to, respected and felt loved.

My mother was extremely anxious about moving from Kent to Sussex in March 2019 leaving her home to go into care.
She was frightened, nervous and unsure in meeting new people.
Her experience previous to coming to Alma Lodge was shocking.
I was so unsure, she sent me a text saying I'm sure I'll
get used to it. I cried had I done the right thing by my mum.
Well, I needn't have worried.
4 months later she has put on weight, got her self esteem back, loves where she lives and the staff are incredible.
If you want homely, caring, compassionate and family feel Alma Lodge is the place to go.
You can bring your own furniture to make the room your own, surround yourself with memorabilia and treat it like your home, as to all the staff it is your home they are working in.
Mum is treated as an individual person, she has a sense of humour and to visit mum is a joy.
Thank you so much, Alma Lodge, the manager and all their staff.

Reply from Dawn Owasil, Manager at Alma Lodge

Thank you for your review of Alma Lodge, I am so pleased that you are happy with the home and your mother feels at home. We have strived hard over the years to make Alma Lodge a warm, friendly, caring place where all our residents are comfortable in their own routines and our staff work around them, not the other way.

After looking at numerous care homes in the Eastbourne area and finding most, I must say, unsuitable, I walked into Alma Lodge and knew that this home was perfect for my elderly relative. The homes actually "feels like home" and the staff are very friendly and caring. The food is excellent and there
are activities which the residents all seem to enjoy.
