My mum moved to Abbey Dean from London at the beginning of January and I was so pleased to have had three months to help settle her in before the lockdown was imposed. As a dementia sufferer, she has struggled to understand why I haven't been able to visit her. But the Skype calls and, more recently,
the garden visits have been reassuring for me. The carers are very supportive during my difficult visits and clearly care about her well being. The meals are exceptional and I know mum now enjoys her food much more than when she lived alone. She has a lovely, bright, cosy room which we have been encouraged to personalise. The manager is very professional in her approach to running the care home and the care that was taken to keep everyone safe during the Coronavirus outbreak was exceptional. The owner is very approachable and understanding of everyone's personal situation. We really struck gold when we found Abbey Dean. Mum is well cared for and happy.

Our mum has stayed at Abbey Dean for five years now. The staff is always cheerful, friendly and very caring of the residents. The food is home-cooked and delicious and the kitchen provides a varied menu and caters for all tastes. Wonderful cakes are made to celebrate residents' birthdays.
Abbey
Dean has a lovely rear garden for residents to enjoy and it is home to the annual Summer Fair with music, raffle and afternoon tea (sadly not this year due to the Lockdown). At the opposite end of the year, the home holds a Christmas Party with entertainment, food and thoughtful gifts for all the residents.
Abbey Dean locked down early and has put strict measures in place throughout the pandemic. As a result, it has remained free from infection due to the diligence and care shown by every member of staff.

My mum was a resident in Abbey Dean for just under two years and would have stayed longer, but she now needs nursing help which Abbey Dean cannot offer.
Abbey Dean provides a home from home environment and Mum was able to have items from her home at the care home. The staff have all been wonderful
and Mum enjoyed the activities arranged by the home particularly the gardening club and the musical activities.
The staff always were welcoming when the family visited and treated Mum with courtesy and kindness. The food was great and all residents are included in food choices.
I would not hesitate to recommend the home to anyone and would be happy to answer any questions.

The management and staff have worked really hard, in very difficult conditions, to keep our loved ones safe and comfortable during the current COVID crisis. We have been kept up to date on a regular basis and have been able to contact our loved ones whenever necessary.

My mother went in to Abbey Dean for respite care for the second time where we knew she would be happy and settled again. At first she was more than happy to stay in her room as she is hard of hearing and found it difficult to mix with other residents but the staff slowly encouraged her to sit in the
garden where she started to chat to others. Now she is very happy and having a much more fulfilled life and will be staying permanently at Abbey Dean.
I can truly say that we have no worries about my mother's care, she loves her food and is much more healthy now than when she arrived from having a good choice of home-cooked food. The staff have been excellent and very caring on all levels from plenty of cups of tea and biscuits and a chat and when needed help in the middle of the night.
I would thoroughly recommend Abbey Dean without hesitation.

My mum entered Abbey Dean quite poorly after a bad fall. With love patience and lots of encouragement and support mum is now back on her feet. I have peace of mind that mum is safe. I have praise for all the staff and their leader. Mum recently had a birthday in lockdown and her day was made special
topped off with a cake that looked delicious. Mum loves the food, her room is also nice and cozy with quite a good view. It has been difficult in lockdown but the staff have managed to stimulate with activities. In normal times there are lots of talks and entertainment. It is nice to know mum is being so well looked after.

My mother has been a resident for four years now and absolutely loves it. The home is quiet and comfortable with a lovely garden. The food is varied and good and the staff are friendly, caring and efficient. You always receive a warm welcome when you visit and all the residents appear happy and well
cared for.
At the start of the pandemic Abbey Dean were very quick to implement a lockdown and have managed to keep the home completely COVID free. They have always had sufficient supplies of PPE and strict hygiene procedures. I have been kept informed at all times by weekly newsletter and they have now introduced socially distanced garden visits. I am confident that my mother is in the best place possible to keep her safe, well and happy.

We recently lost our dear friend who spent his final months at Abby Dean Care Home. He had only glowing praise for the carers here, and in his final weeks was nursed attentively. I would like to thank them for their commitment and care.

I cannot fault Abbey Dean. The staff are so patient with my mum. I've stayed several times for lunch at last minute and its always lovely especially the pudding. I love going to see mum, especially on a Wednesday when all the ladies have their hair done. It's friendly, homely, warm and most of all welcoming.
The best thing we could have done was to place mum here, she has a better standard of life and we have total peace of mind.

The care provided by Abbey Dean has been excellent. The facilities and environment of the home are very family orientated - a real "home away from home". The staff provided a level of care that I was delighted to have had for my elderly father. They truly understand the challenges that old age, frailty
and dementia can bring. My father was always treated with kindness and respect and most importantly he was viewed as an individual not just one of many. The staff always communicated with us in a very professional and very welcoming manner.

Abbey Dean care home provides a superb environment for my mother suffering from dementia. All the staff are a great team of compassionate, hardworking individuals, where all members from care workers to the chef and housekeepers all contribute to a very warm, friendly atmosphere that envelopes you as
you visit. After much research and visits I was taken by the cosy atmosphere at Abbey Dean, also on my first visit was most impressed to meet the proprietor who was also on site expressing much reassurance of their standards, which I found to be completely accurate. I would recommend this care home for its warmth, cleanliness and fantastic menus where visitors are encouraged to partake in meals. Thank you all the staff at Abbey Dean for taking great care of my mum on a 24/7 basis.

Abbey Dean has been exceptionally caring towards my mother, always attentive and willing to listen. The home is always filled with laughter which really makes you feel comfortable when visiting. Nothing has ever been too much trouble.
The staff and management have made what was a traumatic and difficult
decision to put my mother in a home, into an easy transition, offering advice and a friendly ear at all times. Mum is so happy there and as a family, we couldn’t be happier.
Thank you.
